  1. I also like that this a park that can be built and can earn money, rather than Dubai overbuilding absolutely everything.
  2. I think they said verlassen rather than lassen because of VERbolten. Also, Verbolten isn't a German word, Verboten is a German meaning prohibited. Though, Verboten doesn't sound like a good coaster name.
  3. I can respond to everything with valid rebuttals, but you've obviously never been to other theme parks, right? SFMM has good rides. But how does that make it one of the best parks in the world? Of those 'good' rides, they neuter them (GL not spinning - it really doesn't spin much), sporadic audio on X2 (when it's part of the 4-D package), Revolution (OTSRs), etc. Go to other parks, and try to think of SFMM the same way. These are some of the best parks in the world: -Disneyland -EPCOT -Tokyo DisneySea -Europa Park -Dollywood -Alton Towers I don't see SFMM being as good as those parks at all.
  4. On bassdirt's trip report, I noticed something odd in this picture: Did they change the design of those flowers near Vortex & Celebration Swings?
  5. Seriously, who would want to have this? Anyway, it seems Cedar Fair is doing a good job on maintaning WOF.
  6. What the heck was that? I'm amazed by the epicness they used for a water park. Though, doesn't a Vekoma Inverted coaster seem odd in a water park?
  7. ^Reminds me of Abismo. Anyways, this is the first time I ever heard this much complaining about a coaster that is over a mile long. Think Leviathan is too short, well TTD is about 18 seconds long. Did I think that it was short at first? Yes, but once looking at the length, duration, and cost of the ride, I think it is good as is.
  8. ^ Welcome to the forum! The Season Pass Proccessing Center has always been in that building next to the Vortex arcade for awhile. Crowds & Lines at CGA:
  9. Why? The problem with Grizzly isn't that it is rough, the problem is that the layout is miserably dull. The turns are taken slowly, there's minimal to no air time, there's just a general lack of forces. Timberliners wouldn't suddenly make the ride ten times better, it would make it smoother, sure. But even as a smooth ride, Grizzly would still be a sub-par coaster for the terrible layout. Agreed. Grizzly's problem isn't roughness as much as it is dullness. Hell, you'd need to put a rocket-powered Ferrari on the track to make that ride interesting. However, there are far worse wooden coasters than Grizzly (for example, Anaconda at Walygator in France). Sorry, it was more meant as a joke since everyone was complaining about Grizzly's trains.
  10. This is solely from my experiences. V2 is a better coaster than Kong, I just don't like the suprising launched part. I had a painful ride on Giant Dipper in the middle of the train on a wheel seat, I formed this opinion because it was painful, especially because of the Morgan trains.
  11. I think it's about time for Grizzly to get timberliners.
  12. Like the SFMM park map from the early 2000s:
  13. SFMM really is going backwards, as mentioned before, the Magic of the Mountain really made Sky Tower more interesting, now it's just plain and boring in there (other than the views).
  14. If a future coaster in CW would be called Ziz, I would jump off Wonder Mountain.
  15. EPCOT isn't your ordinary amusement park. It really is a 2-day theme park and it is I think the only Disney park without a roller coaster, so enthusiasts cry. But really, it's an attractions amusement park, EPCOT only has about 10 actual rides. So, some people might not like EPCOT because it is different.
  16. The V-shaped seats aren't as drastic as Deja Vu & Behemoth, so there probably isn't going to be much confusion. Also, it's confusing on Deja Vu because it is an inverted coaster, so it's difficult to see the outer seats.
  17. Oct. 2011 - Oct. 2012 - Six Flags Season Pass (using for SFDK & SFMM) Jun. 2012 - ? - Legoland California Season Pass (will buy when I move to So Cal) Jan. 2013 - ? - Knott's Berry Farm Season Pass (will buy when Six Flags season pass runs out) Mar. 2013 - Oct. 2013 - California's Great America Season Pass (for going on the new GCI coaster, might renew pass for 2014)
  18. It's nice to see two trip reports. So, everyone is complaining about Kong, but call me crazy, I actually kind of like the ride. Whenever I go to SFDK, I ride it often and its more that I ride it because there aren't that many large coasters in the park. I despise launched coasters, so I don't ride V2, so that leaves me with Roar, Kong, & Medusa. I hope that Superman will be a coaster that sucks everyone into that line, thus giving the other coasters a shorter line. Even though I despise launched coasters, I hope that I'll enjoy Superman and it won't have as much as a forceful launch as V2 since it is a Premier coaster so I'll probably like that more. Also, for anyone who is speculating that the sheild tunnels won't be built, you can find on the ground wooden panels forming a V, so it will be placed.
  19. Also, I "connected" the connectors on Paint and it seems like that the forward tower will be a triangular prism shape rather than a rectangular prism shape. This isn't unusual as Premier built many of these triangular prism structures.
  20. From the picture above, it seems like this is what is done: There is still A LOT to go.
  21. ^I always laughed that all the ads of Superman is the same EXACT ads for DDD, only that they took the DDD logo off and replaced it with Superman. Even my 2012 season pass has DDD on it. I think DDD was chosen since it is the most similar coaster (lap bar restraints, red track, GP aren't going to know it at all).
  22. Epcot is one of my favorite theme parks, and this is a good straightforward trip report. Are you just visiting each Disney park for one day?
  23. Really, I think SFMM helps the environment rather than hurt it. The park's location is in a place where there are many ugly, dry hills. Back in 1971, the park was built in one of those ugly, dry hills and transformed it into an oasis of the Santa Clarita Valley. Many trees were planted making the mountain transition from little vegetation into a forest as we see it today. Yes, we all know that an immense coaster collection was built over the years, but roller coasters really don't do much in polluting the air. As mentioned before, the only threat is oil dripping on the ground and that can be stopped very easily. SFMM & any other amusement park has an extremely minor threat to the environment as the pollution is creates is much smaller than the pollution created by the nearby freeway. I think those environmentalists need to target higher polluting businesses.
  24. Definitely agree, The sheild-shaped tunnels really is the only theming on the ride. Also, I forgot to mention, but when I went to the park last Saturday, I think I found the on-ride photo camera. It is in the back left of the concrete pad, near Medusa's dive loop. I think the onride photo is in the drop after the heartline roll.
  25. On the SFDK thread, he was talking about if Pandemonium could've replaced the go-karts and then build S:UF in Pandemonum's spot. Not really that dumb, but still Honestly, it is an opinion not a dumb post.
