  1. Technic Coaster (LLC) yesterday.
  2. ^This picture was taken of Terminator under construction at about the phase Au13 is at right now. That picture was taken in January and Terminator opened in late May, so I would expect that Au13 will open in March or April. So, the coaster will most likely be open by May 4th. 3. I guess I'm the only one here that has no problem whatsoever with star flyers and observation towers. If they are replacing Chute Out with a star flyer, then why did they remove Flashback? I think that SFOT will add a ride with a larger footprint.
  4. I had a dream a few nights ago that Legoland California got a racing GCI woodie, I guess I'm really hoping for a 2013 LLC coaster, even in my dreams.
  5. My home park is Legoland California and the best coaster there is Technic Coaster with Dragon being a close second.
  6. I agree with this, after seeing Superman stalling, I could see the train going a bit too fast since there was a situation of the train going a bit too slow.
  7. If they are adding a coaster in the area coastercrutchfield outlined, they should've spared Texas Chute-Out as it is a classic and is very rare. With Flashback, I don't care if it goes to the scrapyard, the world is better with one less boomerang.
  8. 2 of the 3 last projects was on a previously-built Intamin ride, so it had to be Intamin to renovate Superman and to build Lex Luthor. Plus, in the past six years, they used Intamin, GCI, & B&M for their new coasters. So, they don't use one manufacturer solely for their new coasters, like Cedar Point did from 2000 - 2007. Full Throttle could be Mack or Premier rather than Intamin.
  9. It was supposed to be shorter (in length) than the Grizzly & Roar, I think it was 3125' long.
  10. I'm predicting it will be covered because of CGA's "friendly neighbors", so it's the CMFT. Anyways, I'm happy to see vertical construction to start this early and a record breaker is something that CGA needs so it can put the park back on the map.
  11. When they interview people and call them coaster enthusiasts, I doubt that most of them are actual coaster enthusiasts.
  12. It was pretty apparent that Kingda Ka should've won since it has the most extreme height of the 4, but because of the big Cedar Point bias the GP have, Millennium Force won.
  13. I was surprised that a catwalk wasn't added to the top in the first place. Anyways, it's good that it didn't valley in the bottom of the "cliffhanger" drop.
  14. A lot of thrill rides are hard on tall people. Have you ridden the hammerhead? My 6'3" dad complained that it was the most uncomfortable thing he'd ever ridden, and if I was a couple inches taller it probably would have been for me (I'm 6'0") too. Who thought of the one-size-fits-all automatic OTSR's? I rode Hammerhead and it was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, even more than Boomerang.
  15. Seriously? Boomerang is actually a pretty solid ride. It's easily one of the best Boomerangs I've been on. Kong is a giant piece of crap, which sadly is also the best SLC I've experienced; but that's only because the others were so terrible. I would say Kong is easily the worst coaster in NorCal, maybe even in all of California. SLCs are just badly designed rides, there is just no getting around it. I agree, it is a giant piece of stinking poo poo. I prefer Kong over Boomerang since Boomerang is just really uncomfortable, maybe it's because of my tall height and the Boomerang's OTSRs banging on my neck. I would go on Kong again, but refuse to return on Boomerang.
  16. http://www.parkz.com.au/article/2012/07/16/297-Water_coaster_bound_for_Australia_in_2013.html Since Movie World is getting a dark ride this year and got a coaster last year & Dreamworld just got a coaster, I would guess it is going to Sea World.
  17. I think I'm the only one that actually likes Kong. It's rough but there's something about it that I just dig. (Other than the eternally non-existent line) I also like Kong, it feels like the whole thing is falling apart when you're riding it and for some reason I enjoy it. Though, I rank it as the 3rd worst coaster in Northern California (after Boomerang & Vortex).
  18. Well, I always wanted to experience a hyperwoodie, but I knew that it would be torn down. Now, that Kings Island has more open real estate, I can't wait to see what will be its replacement and I believe (and hope) that it would be something big.
  19. I just don't understand why I keep seeing this idea in this thread? While most of the rumors have been hard to believe, haven't we heard from MULTIPLE sources that the 2013 coaster in LJ's spot will be the longest track in the us/world along with the tallest vertical loop? I don't get how Superman: ultimate flight is even remotely comparable to anything that is likely in LJ's spot. I'm not bashing just really confused. If its true it would be a much bigger, much longer version of it. If it will be a Premier launcher going on Log Jammer's location, it would probably be more similar to Sky Rocket than Superman since it won't be a compact coaster and be more spread out.
  20. ...you have to live at least 30 minutes away from an amusement park. ...you brag with your non-coaster enthusiast friends about your coaster memorabilia. (They really don't care.) ...you try to stop line cutters like they are criminals. ...you try to plan trips that go to many amusement parks. All of the above apply to me.
  21. Nope, never had one. Will the world end in 2012?
  22. I saw Dark Knight Rises yesterday and it was a really good movie, I actually think it's better than the Avengers. The whole movie had many twists to it and it had lots of suspense. Sometimes, Bane was hard to hear what he was saying, but I thought he was an amazing villian. This movie is definitely the best one this whole year.
  23. Vortex (CGA)
