  1. ^That's what I was thinking. Looks much nicer than just slapping the park logo on the front of the train.
  2. I am a very compact coaster, dare I say a spaghetti bowl coaster, though I do not launch nor am I ever located at a Cedar Fair park. I have a custom layout and I have finally seen the sun after many years of operation.
  3. Giant Dipper (SCBB). I still think its a bit overrated. Also, there was someone screaming extremely loud behind me, so my ears didn't have that great of a ride...
  4. Montezooma's new airgates look like a great improvement over the old red ones.
  5. ^^Strange. I went on Gold Striker at 11:00 yesterday and the line was to the entrance, but without switchbacks (which isn't that bad).
  6. Flight Deck (CGA) a few hours ago. It's still strong after 20 years.
  7. I agree, Demon is actually rather enjoyable now, which is great. I actually don't need to hold on anymore. It's a once and done for me, the 3D is pretty crummy.
  8. Thanks for answering my question as I never noticed that before. It makes sense that they do this, so they don't have to close the ride down when a train is in re-hab.
  9. It's interesting how there are 2 Montezooma trains in the park now. I wonder where the 2nd one came from.
  10. I'm very surprised to how low the amount of deaths were (and relieved). It's crazy that I was just 30 miles from this plane crash.
  11. Looks great. It's a great improvement over the Splash Battle rides.
  12. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45427&start=5775 It's on the KI thread, though the one at CGA is basically identical.
  13. ^Looks good. Something I don't like is the unsupported signs. If you put some base blocks and a sloped roof behind the signs, it would look a lot better.
  14. I could see the area between Flight Deck and the "Manteca slides" at Boomerang Bay being used as a Boomerang Bay expansion.
  15. ^^I would not worry about the track moving/swaying on the coasters as that is a normal occurrence. At my home park, Knott's, you can see the top of Xcelerator sway a good amount from the lack of supports and Jaguar's track moving when the train passes by. (Obviously, a lot of swaying is not a good thing, such as what's happening to Astrotower.)
  16. In Demon (CGA)'s line today: "The Whizzer fell off the tracks and flew into the parking lot".
  17. Prudential should be happy that it took 25 years for CGA to fill up the Whizzer location completely. A roller coaster could've been there the whole time.
  18. Which is probably why it was my first 'big' coaster...when I got off I figured that once was enough. However, Giant Dipper was what really started my coaster craze a year later, and after being convinced to ride it (was terrified) I decided to ride again a few more times as I enjoyed it Grizzly was also my first large coaster. When I got off, I thought it was very intense (before Grizzly, Jaguar [KBF] was my largest coaster), so this coaster is what brought me into the world of the big coasters.
  19. Sometimes, when I quote a post, the amount of time between when I enter the page and when I click the quote button, the post is edited. So, I'd give him a break.
  20. I find that if you pull the restraints down onto your shoulders, you can keep your ears mostly clear of the restraints. I also stick my head forward. I did this last weekend, while fellow TPR member Blue Fire Guy kept his head firmly against the rest to endure the pain...yes, I heard lots of cursing next to me Being 6' 2", my shoulders are always against the restraints on Vortex. (No wonder I can withstand stand ups pretty well) My last coaster was Vortex (CGA) (again) today.
  21. There hasn't been a photo of the completed "Prudential Tunnel", so I'll show some photos I took of it today: ZOOM IN! ZOOM IN!
  22. I left the park an hour before this. Darn it.
  23. Thanks R.D., I edited it to say Speedracer now. 1977 - 1979 Update 1977 brought Snowman Spinner, a tea cup ride themed to snow. Remember Rocky Shore Expedition? It was the ride removed in 1975 for the construction of Terror Mountain. Well, Playland kept the submarines in storage, refurbished them, and brought them back in 1978 as a new ride named Pacific Expedition. It sits on the location of the former Bumper Boats attraction. New for 1979: Thrill Shot. This here is a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop that contains an indoor launch section. Along with Thrill Shot, a new food court was built in 1979. Here is the rest of Thrill Shot's layout. This empty space will soon be filled up... This is the end of the 1977 - 1979 update. Thanks for reading and comments are appreciated.
