Ah yes. The bottom one is a diesel, just like the ones at SFGAm. You can see the exhaust stack at the rear of the tender. I hightly doubted Six Flags would pay for the constant upkeep of a working steam locomotive, along with the insurance. Doubtful the other one will ever run again, unless someone really wants to take it off their hands.

Custom Tracks for RCT3
mcjaco replied to Thelegendarymatthew's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^ It's probably a ways off, but it is a good idea. Especially with everyone leaving Atari enmasse. It's going to be real hard to keep track of stuff with it all over the interweb! -
This one was listed as diesel hydraulic. So it's not real steamer. I'm guessing it's like the ones at SFGAm where it's a diesel in disguise. Still pretty, but not as much as the other engine. Which incidentally is the same model type as the Forney at Disneyland. Steamers need new boilers every fifteen years, so most likely neither of them will run again, but it's nice to know they're still out there.

Being a train enthusiast, I decided to see if I could find any info on the locomotives from Opryland. Surprisingly enough, they're still around and operating!

And I appreciate it! Let's just throw the links up, from here on out. When we get the database off the ground, I'll grab them then! -

Custom Tracks for RCT3

Honestly, I'd rather keep these types of files at their current location, and just provide links to the download. Right now. I can tell you guys that somewhere after the new phpbb3 forum roll out, I'm going to work with Robb on a new Game Forum database, where parks, track files, scenery, etc. can all be searched. You can thank Mr. Fourmont for that idea! So, let's keep stuff like this too links for the time being (as I also don't want these to get lost in the forum), and just stick to links. We're monitoring the Atari site to see how it pans out with the new changes, and how much activity heads this way. -

You know what I'd like to see? These creations actually IN RCT3, before this thread goes any further. -

I can't beleive they're finally filling in that void in tha back of the pavilion. Which is still the most pointless, unfinished pavilion of the lot. -

OK, let's not turn this into a bash fest. That being said, there are good ways to post criticism, and not so good ways. And continually posting negative comments will not get you much love from the rest of the community. You'll be labeled as a "Negative Nancy" (hmmm, maybe that will be a Game Forum Title ). And eventually, no one will listen or take you seriously. Which is the trend I'm seeing, and why I brought it up. On the other hand, GOOD constructive criticism can be a way of pushing people to the next level. If (notice the IF), that person is looking to push themselves to the limit in their creations. Everyone plays these games for different reasons. Some, to create incredibly imaginative parks that are detailed to the hilt. Some, just want to recreate some place that they love so much. And others, just want to be able to build what ever they want, no matter the quality of building prowess. Everyone should be taken for what their project is about. Not what you think it should be, or could be. Enjoy the game! Because at the end of the day, that's all it is! -

I've deleted the pictures, as they're too big (see TPR's Posting Rules). And you need to read this: Game Forum Ettiquete before posting again. -

For those close up shots, use the Macro function on your camera. Then use the timer so you don't have any chance of shaking the camera while i taking the picture. -
Um, Revis did shut down Wayne. He had 55 yards. Please stop with the fanboyism.

The chat room is really dependent on people being in it and using it. We used to have a good crowd in there on a nightly basis a few years back, but it stopped for some reason. I think a lot of people tend to forget about it, unless they see a large group in there when they sign in. If anyone has ideas on how to get it moving again, I'm sure Robb would be all ears.

I'm pretty sure Rick Steve's showed that spot on the river with the surfers in one of his shows. Pretty crazy!
