  1. It's a power outage. Not the end of the world. The Slantinel is doing it's usual spin on Disney.
  2. When we were there last February, parents were letting their kids hop the fences and run around in the grassy areas during wishes. The only time anyone, ANYONE, told them to get out of there was the photographer. And that was only when the kids set up camp right behind a newlywed couple getting their picture taken in front of his photo little set up. I wanted to go in there myself and start hauling them off.
  3. Finished Splinter Cell: Double Agent last night. Yeah I'm way behind in games. The ending was rather a let down after previous Splinter Cell games.
  4. That's some nice work there, Luke. Martin Smith did something similiar over at wdwmagic.com. You really don't know how much space there is until you see it laid out like that. I think the Millenium Celebration building is only partially permanent, and would be an easy removal. We've seen them demolish Horizons, and diamantle the Wand, so nothing is out of the realm of posibilities.
  5. Four hour layover? You could have driven to New Belgium, done a flight, and come back in that time! Although my beer drinking days have slowed, I can't wait to get back out there in March. I need some Pizza Port. I could have hung out there all night.
  6. I've merged your new thread into the old thread, and unlocked it. Unless content is provided in your updates, I WILL lock this again. Continual posts of asking people to got to personal links, is unacceptable and against TPR's Terms of Service and Posting Rules. In the future, DO NOT start a new thread until you've heard back from me in a PM. It's a fast way to get yourself thrown to the Bantron.
  7. Poorly worded. But it made Hector giggle.....
  8. It's about the same on American and United too.....if you're closer to O'Hare.
  9. Because the daily emails they send you just aren't enough!
  10. I believe there are still seven pads available. There's more space then it appears. The trees and foliage have filled in so much it's hard to tell. ^ Jay, totally understand your first visit. I think a lot of people feel the same way. Kind of confused about Future World, but they enjoy the rides, and not sure what to make of World Showcase. Spaceship Earth's recent redo is what has any EPCOT fanboy just a little giddy. It's more back to the original roots of the park. It's now one of my favorites there (and trust me, my favorite is cyclical ). The Living Seas, was much better in it's Sea Base Alpha theme, but it was so dead, something had to be done. Insert Nemo. As for Living with the Land, it's been pretty much the same ride since it opened in '82, give or take a few displays. In '82, some of was very futuristic, say like the hydroponics. Nowadays.....not so much. It is neat that everything they grow there (including the fish, etc) go right to the resuarants. So in some ways EPCOT is a bit self sufficient. Granted, the ride shows only a fraction of what they grow. Glad you enjoy the thread, and it has your curiosity piqued. Perhaps one day I'll get to show you around down there.
  11. I think that's what captured my imagination when I was younger, the whole park was so different, and intriguing. Even as an eight year old, World Showcase was mesmerizing. I wasn't happy about the lack of rides, but it was just so different. Future World is sadly a shell of it's former self. It's lost it's original intended purpose, but it's coming around again. I believe the steps they've taken in the past couple of years show that. There's always a rumor about Japan finally getting a coaster, or a rapids ride coming to Canada, but nothing ever seems to come to fruition. Personally, I'd like to see some of the orignal planned pavilions to finally show up. I'd say the likelihood of an Africa pavilion are slim to none, now that it's so prevelant in Animal Kingdom. But who knows, lots of people equate Future World with Tomorrowland. Some corssover wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
  12. I think we can work with you.
  13. ^ Dave shows his wisdom once again, by drinking Fat Tire, and not Corona.
  14. Shameless bump, but I started working on this again over Thanksgiving weekend. I ended up completely dismantling the Listen to the Land ride, and starting over. I found blueprints for the ride, and I had a lot of it all wrong, so it would have driven me nuts. I also swapped out the default monorail for the DatMatze one, as it more closely resembles the Disney versions. The plan now is to finish The Land completely, and not move on to another pavilion, like I had been doing. With Revolutionary Rides new Omnimover CTR, Spaceship Earth, Imagination and World of Motion will finally be easier, and more authentic than previous trial attempts. I'm also working on a short movie for a billboard for the beginning of Imagination, instead of just looking at static pictures, and a a couple of short slide shows for Listen to the Land.
  15. I like Muttly's Putt Putts! Very nice start. Do we get to learn about years 1 through 25?
  16. ^ Been there, done that. I had a CS download that infected my PC. I'm very scared at downloading anything now. Also, don't delete the RCT3 folder from My Documents. It doesn't go into your Recycle Bin.
  17. ^ You are correct. Part of the queue, and the ride building are there. The queue was to be in the area where the counterservice restaurant is. The whole building wasn't finished, but what was, is now used for storage, mostly Food & Wine kiosks. Japan also has a large building being used for storage, that was supposedly to house a ride (I have pictures, but can't seem to find them).
  18. Yikes, almost two years since I've updated this! I had so much planned and lost track of time. What better way to remedy this, than to post some pictures! First, this is a bit of an oddity, but I've been going through my electronic portfolio of EPCOT goodies, and came across a slew of pictures from pavilions that never came to be or, artwork for pavilions before their finalization. I can't take credit for having many of these myself, as most of them have been saved from years of looking for EPCOT history on the net. One of the best said places is Progress City USA, it's a must for anyone into Disney (mostly Disney World), and it's history. So without further ado, here's some stuff that may amaze....or may not! And to finish this update, what Mission Space could have been. Here's the Swiss pavilion with the EPCOT version of the Matterhorn. And another rendering. Progress City has a wonder article on how Italy was slighted big time as EPCOT got closer to opening. There was to be a ride through ruins in the back of the pavilion. It was supposed to be added in Phase II, but it never came to be. The entrance is the yellow structure in the back. Here it is again in a 1991 rendition. This pavilion keeps getting new life every few years in the rumor mill. And the often talked about Russia Pavilion. How about the UK with a very cool Victorian Music Hall? A little Venezuela? Here's artwork for the never realized "Equatorial Africa" pavilion. It was to be where the current Outpost is. And Spain. Honestly, seeing this as a kid got me excited. I always thought this was a perfect fit for WS. Heading back to World Showcase, Coming Soon.....Israel or where an obsessed USC fan comes from. Speaking of Wonders of Life, here's a model of an early version of it! Life and Health........or Wonders of Life. And now the always cool, "Coming Soon" signs of pavilions.....The Living Seas. An early drawing of Horizons post show area. Something that never came to fruition. The previously mentioned Science and Invention Pavilion. Obviously, never built. Part of EPCOT was to host a large transportation hub. I've never been able to find much about this. My best guess is this was for Walt's EPCOT, not the theme park. BY 1979, EPCOT Center was taking shape. Where Horizons eventually was built is the Science and Invention Pavilion. Horizons, is where The Living Seas currently sits, and was named Century 3. By 1976, EPCOT was going to have an Arab Pavilion, largely based on Iran. In fact, Iran was highly sought after for a World Showcase Pavilion, until the revolution took place. In 1975, the vision for Future World was quite a bit different. We'll start off with Walt's first version of EPCOT. A somewhat utopian society, and not a theme park.
  19. That trim is activated by the trains speed, going too fast and it engages. If you ride enough times, there are rides where it never goes off. I'm not saying the trims make sense, I'm just saying that park management told us that the "myth" that they've added trims is wrong. It's always operated the same way.
  20. Coaster Enthusiast myth. Trims on RB are computer controlled they only come on when necessary.
  21. I know nothing about Chang, but I can tell you that people at SFGAm had no idea about Little Dipper until it happened. We've been told many times, that no one knows what's going to happen, until it happens. As Robb said, someone knows, but I'm beginning to believe it's only someone way at the top of the chain.
  22. And, this should have gone here: No Limits Help Thread.
