  1. One - I'm really about to ban contests here, as no one competes, and the host never finishes them. Two - This is rather pointless. If you don't have the game, you certainly shouldn't create a contest thread. Three - Please see the posting rules before you post. The entire first post, made my eyes bleed. Four - For those of you that keep back seat modding, and I know one you has already been given a time out for doing so, you WILL BE BANNED. This is now locked.
  2. Must get out for the hijinx. Keep missing you guys and gals.
  3. That's how I end all of my nights.
  4. Spicy beanburger, or Chicken Chunks?????? Such choices!
  5. Let's not get our undies in a bunch over a couple of pictures, ladies and gentleman.
  6. There's a car ferry from Michigan to Milwaukee so that might be a different way to go. I think it takes a little less time (but not much), but I've heard it's enjoyable, and you avoid Chicago traffic!
  7. Everyone is weaker on one side of their body. That's why we develop to be right or left handed. I didn't intend for me to say asperger's to be BS. Just as you said, I think it's over diagnosed.
  8. This is not a knock on the main poster here, or those of you that have been diagnosed with ausbergers. But...... I struggled through school my entire life. It took me ten years to complete college. At age 18 my Mother decided to have me tested for learning disabilities. They diagnosed me with ADD. I was immediately put on medication (ritalin) to "help" with my disability. I stopped taking it shortly afterwards (as soon as I went away to school in the fall), as I felt the whole thing was complete BS. I struggled in school because I hated it, and didn't want to be there. Not because I couldn't focus. There were just many more things I was interested in than being at school. I went to school off and on during the next ten years to get my degree. I did it as my interest in school was high, and I had time (and money) to do it. My point, I think ausbergers is the new ADD/ADHD for diagnosis. I, for one, made myself learn how to deal with my ADD (whether it was real or not). In the long run, teaching myself how to stay focused on things I hated to do was good.
  9. Yep. And there's other ballots with people voting for coaster in the US that they've never been to either. Bad example. And the Hawker poll is unfortunately, full of idiots trying to sway votes, due to an adolescent need to knock other ballots down. Quite honestly, I don't take too many people's opinions too seriously unless I know that they have a great deal of experience in such matters. Which is precisel why the coaster counters are quite good. Are you going to take a kid's opinion whose rode only 50-70 coasters, nowhere outside of Ohio, or someone like Chuck's, who has ridden coasters (and a lot of them) all over the world???? Cedar Fair get's bashed fairly here, as does SF (see the Mr. Six Coaster Ride Height Requirement Thread), Disney, Universal, etc. Perhaps you need to verse yourself in this: fanboy 1. A person who is completely loyal to a game or company, etc. regardless of if they suck or not.
  10. Because adding that additional train would decrease your wait time from five to two minutes? Opening weekend, small crowds, small employee pool to work with. No waits longer than ten minutes. I'll take that any day. Unless, you like to go in July and wait two hours. Speaking of which, I already received a Front of the Line pass through Funatics!
  11. This is actually the #1 reason why I have not, and probably will not end up seeing it at Disneyland. I have some pretty decent memories of the show from when I worked at the park, and actually saw it quite a few times (even wound up having a shift handing out glasses for a couple of hours one day), and I really think the whole bouncing thing will kind of ruin some memories for me. I'm waiting to hear if any of the other versions of the movie do this as well or if some of them may try to implement the old effects. I can totally see Tokyo Disney bring it back in it's 100% correct form! If they do, that's the one I'll go see. --Robb When we saw it after WCB, ther first thing I remarked about was the bouncing floor. It literally does it for the entire second half of the show, which got really annoying. Matt "I missed the lasers" Jacobs
  12. Same here for getting evac'd off of Test Track. I almost shed a tear during that, as the stairwells were still painted in World of Motion colors.
  13. You mean Turn of the Century. Cameron asked me about the sky ride that went East/West yesterday, and I seriously do not remember it. I only remember the North/South partion, which might explain my confusion on why they called it Southern Cross. I'm a bit baffled on the Killer Whale show looking thing too. I'm wondering if this model was for the California version?
  14. The bus at the end. The disco light was gone too.
  15. Did a quick lap with Derek yesterday. We did all the coasters in two hours (except Whizzer and Batman which was still testing). So happy so see they really painted this offseason. A lot the buildings look new again. The new structure over the County Fair food court is awesome, and will be a great once the weather gets warm. I'm disinterested in MagiQuest. I don't care for the look of it, and I'm not interested in it. Viper ran great, and the on-ride photo is gone. Demon really hurt (red train), and Eagle was riding like a bat out of hell, and not in a good way. The new effect at the end of Dark Knight freaked me out (I wasn't paying attention), but none of the other sound effects were working. And I still hate Superman.
  16. I play baseball with him now. He's in a Men's Senior league in Chicago when he isn't doing color commentary in the studio.
  17. Those trims are not related to weather. They're related to the weight of the train, which in turn, relates to it's speed. The heavier the train, the faster it goes, which then trips the trims. We asked that very question about the infamous Raging Bull trim last year at Bucaneer Battle's Media Day, and management came back with that answer.
  18. WHAT That would explain the poor typing.
  19. Gotta love junk drawer finds. I came across two Disney (Fountain of Nations and the Cake Castle) post cards from the late 90's last week!
  20. Bay Area Bash next year, Scott. I'm convincing the wife of a full week of the Napa Valley, then down to BAB.
  21. Tonic - Daffodil
  22. Alrighty, since this isn't getting much attention, let's finish it up! I had never been to Knott's so, I was anxiously awaiting this visit. Not only to see it for myself, but to see if it was as bad as every one makes it out to be. That being said, I didn't hate it.....but I didn't like it either. I loved the old west area, but the rest of the park seemed half arsed, and hodge podged together. Obviously, for me, the highlight was the Roundhouse Tour. I'm a total railfan nerd, and it was really cool to finally see a Galloping Goose, and the Rio Grande Southern locomotives in a way not many people get to see them. I'd also like to thank the "Ageless" Jeff Johnson for running me through some credits in the first half of the day, so I could enjoy the rest of the day wandering and checking things out...and going drinking with Derek and Marlon at he fabulous Breury! Here we go.... Welcome to Knott's. The Ghostrider awaits you... Chuck made many mentions on how Silver Bullet ruined the entrance for him. I found it quite cool, but once inside the gates, I understood his disdain. They be lining up for more fun! Yay for depots! A mysterious fog rolls over Calico Mine....and the infamous Glory Hole. It was seriously creepy out.....or was this just smog? OK, now we're talkin' about the good stuff! Yay, Galloping Goose! Yay green locomotives! Yay Piers! (look how excited he is!) First up was Montezuma's Revenge. It made me miss Tidal Wave. Then it gave me diarrhea. Picture Spot. Mini train! I likes me some trains! Does this even need a caption? Then we played "Which one is Piers?" No bones about it. Erik is one Assy guy. Seriously the best Mine Train ever. At least for the ride vehicles. The reverse group photo photo. Um what is going on here???? Hello friends of TPR! This be Silver Bullet. It is better than Coors. Um, what is going on HERE? Chuck braves the rope bridge. Curse you and your mustard! Is it time for a Piers photoshoot???? Yes!!!! I'll let this image burn into your retinas for awhile.....more Disney, sometime soon!
  23. I work for an insurance company that writes theme park business...... ^ Totally agree. Maybe I was just reading to far into it, as I felt he was kid of irritated with the group as a whole as the questions went on.
  24. That's more likely to be a change they had to make due to Illinois rules and regs. It was probably grandfathered under the old rules, but once it was "rebuilt" it had to be put up to the new rules and regs.
