  1. $4.00 for a bottle of water, at every park it seems like.
  2. ^oh right I forgot about those. They tore out the tall ones that bordered the access road, but the ones for the first turn are still there.
  3. One thing I noticed at KI is there are a lot of remnants of past rides and attractions. The crypt building, SOB station, OG Bat Footers, the old theater building at the far end of racer, and what looked to me like a former ride location next to the wind seeker bathroom.
  4. Looks like the park made a bunch of campground improvements this year, including : -new campers -new cabins -a new lodge -remodeled the general store And the article mentions there is capacity for 7000 people overnight. Link
  5. Having worked at an amusement park, the biggest for me. People feeling entitled to do whatever they want, because they paid. (Buying a 30$ ticket on to private property doesn't give you any rights)
  6. The shades actually did a pretty good job covering most of the queue (I was cold most of the time because it was windy and I was shaded most of the time in line). There were also several of those mister fans around the queue. So the heat shouldn't be that much of a problem. There aren't even vending machines in the Banshee queue, though they did have workers with cups and a water cooler towards the end.
  7. I'm amazed by how efficient they were dispatching this weekend. Each attendant was only responsible for about 1 or two rows. I expect that to change as they stop having so many supervisors working the ride, but still. The one negative I have is the lockers. I understand how it shortens dispatch times, but it's really just a money grab that IMO puts CF on SF's level (only in that sense).
  8. Here's a few pictures I snapped this weekend. Pardon the overall meh quality of them.
  9. Today at the park was great, lines weren't too bad. Banshee was about a 30 minute wait, Diamondback was between 20 and 45 minutes all day. I was a little disappointed by FoF, it was too light inside.
  10. I got my first ride at about 9 after waiting 2 hours, wow that ride is fantastic at night. One a side note, having never ridden a flyer, Firehawk at night was awesome too.
  11. It's all just a function of height. The 80+ mph Intamin free falls are all in the ~400ft range. This is only a 310'ft drop. That being said it likely will have a higher drag coefficient doe to ride carriage design associated with this type. When KD's has. A 272 ft drop and hits 72mph. And I was correct in my math, the published top speed of FF is 60mph.
  12. It's not quite so cut and dry. CNL is a REIT, or in simple terms, a holding company. They essentially have a "constitution" so they couldn't go and just manage it themselves. One thing I will bring up, a part of their "constitution" states that by December 2015, they have to go public, or liquidate essentially. (If you read their SEC filings you will see this)
  13. So from my quick timing. Assuming breaking begins at the yellow section, drop time is ~3 seconds. V=at or v=(9.81m/s/s)(3 seconds) gives you a speed of 29.43 m/s or 65.83mph. Then a conservative estimate would be about 60mph when you hit the brakes.
  14. That's was probably cascade canyon, the old mat slides they tore out to put ins shipwreck falls.
  15. No I read it right, the answer to her question was no. The rest was un related, hence the line break.
  16. Wow, it's awesome to see some professional pictures of an amusement park. I'm drooling over that quality. What was the lens you were using?
  17. ^No. I'll just say this now, there is a zero percent chance cuda is sent anywhere other than a scrap yard. There is nothing of value. The supports were terrained, the fiberglass was deteriorating, the pool at the top was rusting through, and the pump system was shot. If they are stacked in nice pieces, it's likely they were taken apart as to not cause fiberglass to become a contaminant.
  18. The park has NOT been in financial trouble since the restructuring. Once the restructuring happened, the monstrous debt was relieved. Debt will not return unless Six Flags starts over leverages themselves again with huge expenditures. Actually after taking a better look at their earnings reports, there are some issues. I was incorrect in saying their earnings was up 3.4%, their Revenue was up that much. Earnings were actually down from 2012, where it was about $340 million. The disturbing fact however, from 2012 cash is down $460 million. Debt from post bankruptcy 2010 was $971 million, and now stands at $1.4 billion. The plus side, pre bankruptcy debt was $2.4 billion. But Six Flags does seem like it could be on a slippery slope.
  19. For 2013 Six Flags earned $118 million in 2013. A ~3.5% increase over 2012.
  20. Except in this instance it really just seems like a franchising of the Six Flags brand. To me at least, I interpret this as Meeras owning the park.
  21. ^clearly they aren't going to do something if they think it will hurt them. They could actually make more money by causing someone to re visit, and therefore spend more money in the park.
  22. There are some other big changes coming this season too. Pardon, my lack of citing the article, just too lazy to find it right now. Basic highlights -New GM. He was last GM at Elitch, previously with paramount park as well. -the happiness guarantee isn't just a slogan. They are giving a weather guarantee now. -The want to continue to bring local favorites to the park. -continuing this theme by partnering with a local winery to open wine testing and a wine shop in the park. EDIT: found them
  23. ^Doesnt Batwing have a dual loading station? Why wouldn't that be utilized to fix the loading issues?
  24. If that area were to be cut, it would only be 45 spaces. It's safe to say the old locker building will be demolished, it's one of the parks original buildings. And it really is just a shell with garage doors. If you look here at all the area that could be used to be developed on, it's enormous. If they wanted to connect to mind eraser, it's always possible to put in a floating bride over there.
  25. Went and got my gold pass processed today. Many rides were testing, and it looked like there was some mega employee training going on.
