[RCT2] Seneca Beach
TheDarkMaxim replied to TheDarkMaxim's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Yeah when I returned to working on this park that's something I wanted to change. But there really was no way to make it straight without it being very short. -

^When I drove by it I couldn't believe the scale of Banshee, I think it looks huge from 71. -

These CS sets, CTR are blowing me away, people have made this game so much better, and you really display how realistic and detailed this game can be. -
After doing some searching this seemed like this would work to ask here. Does anyone know what happened to this ride? Based on google earth's imagery from 6/13 it was still standing. If it was scrapped it would be one of the newest Intamin to meet that fate, built in 1998. Linear gale was built in 1998 and scrapped in 2010.

[RCT2] Seneca Beach
TheDarkMaxim replied to TheDarkMaxim's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Hey so I haven't posted this in a long time, but I've made more progress and have continued it on NE. But I figured id post some more of it here, hopefully it will motivate me to keep going. The main midway area has been completed, ive also tweaked some of the buildings. The next area is Lakeside Derby, a twin racing steeplechase. The entire area is simple architecture and manicured gardens creating a very pleasant lakeside atmosphere. This Boat House area includes a few of the remaining buildings from the former estate that existed on the site. The classical red brick architecture (color has been toned down from this picture) exists on the grand bridge to the island, the boathouse where you can now paddle boats from, and new on the island, and a new pirate ship ride Seneca Schooner. Finally Seneca Serpent, a terrained 2 loop roller coaster by Anton Schwarzkop. (Ignore the typo on the signage). There is just a little bit of space left that im going to develop in the park. Then it will be ready fro release. Thank you for reading, comments and critique are encouraged. -
^That is something that is happening behind the scenes. There is a bunch of reorganization going on to improve cleanliness. For example, some of the cleaning is going to be shifted towards the people who work in an area, allowing park services to focus on the bathrooms more. This has already be going on in the waterpark, they fully clean it with park services only emptying trash and cleaning the bathrooms.

*Non wild speculation post* Most of the park really needs an update. So that isn't saying much. I think the worst area right now is the cuda area. You have very outdate lockers and changing rooms. A queue line/catch pool falling apart. The area smells terrible. The slides are a mechanical nightmare. And then you have the Chernobyl disaster right next door. This year is going to be the 20th birthday for those slides. On their facebook they did say that they would discuss those slides future in a ride of the week post. So we could see some changes there (hopeful thinking).

^You need to stop making statements like that. Seriously, stop, it's nonsensical. Pending good weather, this season should see attendance increase. Seeing as there was a drop in attendance last season due to many rainy days. Which could possibly lead to Lake Monster happening in 2015. Everything I heard was there was hesitance on a major project due to falling attendance last season (not to mention many other issues).

Fastest inversion is a bit ambiguous then. But in that sense i would bet one of the intamin blitz coasters, maybe even volcano.
-
It's probably full throttle, taking the loop at 70mph.

^Yes that's mostly true, but the park is making huge leaps in its own way. Rowdys ridge and the boardwalk are both relatively small additions when compared to something like Banshee. But for the park, they were HUGE. Those two additions created the two nicest areas of the park, and are really brining the park to a good place. So what I'm saying, if the announcement is anything like what has been done the past two years, I would consider that to be a huge announcement. Also, don't forget Rowdy's ridge wasn't announced till mid March.

^Because you didn't just completely add to it. We all know this already. So back on track. I have a couple points to make. First, bear valley bumper buggies and ranger are not listed on the website anymore. Now this could just be an error. But, last year Boomerang, UFO, and Raging seas were all missing from the website. Later it was obvious boomerang was a mistake, UFO was later removed, and raging seas had already been taken out. Second, Cuda Falls has been sitting SBNO all season due to major maintenance problems. The park had given up on it. There may have been (another ) descision to save it. (Yes it has been slated for demolition before). So with both of those said, the new attractions could possibly involving one of those three location. I'm putting doubt in BVBB leaving since DL put a picture on their Facebook recently with it clearly still there. As for the ranger and cuda, none of the recent pictures the park put up show them. Side note, could someone perhaps find a cached version of their website from the summer to see if ranger and BVBB were listed then?

What are some loud rides and coasters?
TheDarkMaxim replied to JFrombaugh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Gatekeeper and TTD were both quite loud when I was at cp this summer. And any arrow's lift antirollbacks, VIper at Darien Lake comes to mind first having worked there, and the fact that you can hear it almost anywhere in the park. -

Based on trip advisor reviews, it sounds like the crystal rock camp ground is the place to camp in sandusky. Though its a bit farther than the koa. -

I would not recommend the KOA. It was pretty much like a field with a few trees next to the main road. So not very campsite like. And it was completely soaked, almost every site was flooded when I went this summer....and then it rained all night making it 10x worse. -
The tubes issue was fixed this year. PLEASE STOP with cuda, it's a very old, very problematic slide complex. Yes they are fun, but they are a safety and maintenance nightmare, and an overall eyesore for the park. They didn't reopen this season because management was sick of dumping money into it. There were grumblings of possibly fixing it, however I don't see that happening. To add to this, stop bringing up bringing back old rides! There is a reason old rides are removed, you can't move forward by keeping old problematic rides. For the third time, please just stop.

Profits are essentially already out since the season mostly ended in Q3. However there is no data available on profits. HFE is a private company so they don't publicly release quarterly earnings. CNL does report, they only report for all their parks on the whole though. CNL obviously profited, but reported a decline in revenue primarily because of the poor weather Darien lake had this summer.
