The new Vekoma trains definitely make a huge difference. Sure, the ride isn't anywhere near as smooth as Goliath, but considering Six Flags weren't obligated to buy new trains and track for the ride, I'm pretty happy with the end result. The coaster went from a one and done to rerideable and very fun. In fact, when I went for Fright Fest, I just wanted to stay back there and ride it all night long.

IAAPA 2016 Live Updates!
simaticable replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From what has been said in the past, it's not really a place for enthusiasts or the GP but a place where parks and companies can come in and exchange information and see what innovations are coming out in the industry and get an idea on what they want to buy for their parks. -
What is your next park?

SFOG next week for HITP. Hopefully Six Flags decides to make the park year round eventually. -

FTFY But seriously though, I find myself more entertained from college football than the NFL anymore. -

Besides terrible primetime games? I mean, did anyone really want to see a game where nothing happened except for kickers making field goals and it ending in a tie or the winless Browns once again losing? Yesterday is the reason why I will always favor CFB over the NFL. There just seems to be more excitement in those games. -

Odds are someone would have realized how stupid they were and probably had it demolished anyway since they wouldn't have the resources to keep it operating and profitable. -
[POLL] RMC Mean Streak 2017 or 2018?
simaticable replied to LeoBruz199's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In all fairness, I trust RMC and Cedar Point to know what they're doing and how long they expect it to take for this ride to be done in the time frame of when they want to open it. Yes, that includes the announcement as well. The industry is always changing, and corporations don't have to stick to a single plan each and every year on when to announce new attractions. I'm a part of the 2017 crowd because I see the water park announcement and advertising as a move to get the spotlight on the water park before announcing RMC Streak. Let's be honest, people would have forgotten about the water park announcement immediately if both it and Mean Streak were announced at the same time, and Cedar Point wanted to get something announced for 2017 for season pass sales, so they went with the water park first to get the first push of new season pass holders, and I can see the park announcing Mean Streak after the new year in another push to get more pass holders. I realize I'm probably nowhere near correct, but that's the best guess I can come up with for why they're waiting so long to announce Mean Streak. -

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Well, none of us are in the room when negotiations happen and contracts are signed, so we don't know what proposals are brought up, what companies are in the mix, and what factors are involved when it comes to new rides and what a park believes would be the most beneficial to everyone. It's very possible Six Flags just doesn't see a need for those types of rides at the moment. There may be nothing wrong with Intamin and their relationships with theme parks. It could just be about what a park needs and who best fills that need which isn't always Intamin. Anyway, onto Hurler, I'm curious to see what happens to the ride, and if it is RMC converting it, I have no doubt it'll be an amazing and kick ass ride. -

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Let's be honest, there's never a dull moment on this site as there's always a thread that has wild speculation every other page *cough Darien Lake cough* and any peace given to a thread is just temporary and can and will be ruined at any time because people honestly just want to watch the world burn and let us not have nice things. -
I was at the park from 6-9 this evening. I only came to process my pass, but the low crowds convinced me to ride a few rides. During my 3 hours, I rode: Georgia Cyclone Acrophobia Monster Mansion Blue Hawk GASM Superman Carousel Mind Bender A few notes: •I have to say, Blue Hawk was better than I expected, and the jolts weren't the worst thing in the world. •Mind Bender's ops were killing it at times. By the time the 2nd train was on the brakes, the other was going up the lift. •Someone please please paint Scorcher. It's horrible. •100 minutes for DDD while the other rides are under a half hour. Yeah, please die VR. •It was fun riding in the back of Cyclone by myself with beautiful ejector airtime. •GASM needs to be retracked badly. •Justice League construction is going well. If anyone ever wants to go the park and ride a few together sometime, I'm always game as I usually ride by myself like I did tonight. I only live about 20 minutes from the park. I'll be back next Friday for more riding and all throughout HITP. Also, riding Mind Bender at night is my favorite coaster experience ever. Yes, even better than Maverick, but barely. First night ride as well. I'll end with a couple pics taken tonight. Dad and I in front of Bugs Bunny Boomtown Dad and I again As we were leaving

^ You know, I look up that user's posts if I ever need a good laugh just because of the absurdity of them.

I could ride Mind Bender all day long and be pretty happy. Well, that or Georgia Cyclone.
