  1. I have to admit, Millennium Force wins this for me. Simply the best I've ever experienced. I need to get back to CP soon.
  2. You know, I need to get to Dollywood, so I could actually try the world famous cinnamon bread. It's actually on my bucket lists of food I need to have before I die. Screw the coaster as long as it doesn't affect the cinnamon bread. #itllneveropen
  3. Those pneumatic towers still rely on the cables to somehow connect the cars to the pneumatic system. ARM/Larson towers use large permanent magnets on the cars. So unless something wonky happens to how physics works, they'll always come to a slow crawl before reaching the ground. I know Acrophobia uses magnets as brakes, so I imagine Intamin uses magnets on other drop towers as well.
  4. Considering these are getting the same trains that Carowinds installed on their Boomerang, I'm pretty happy that SFOG is willing to spend this much money on a Vekoma. Of course, who knows if it was corporate's decision or the group that has the majority interest in the park pushing for corporate to make the changes. I'm sure the new trains and track work was not cheap at all, but they were very necessary. If this improves the ride significantly, and they just do something to keep Georgia Cyclone from destroying itself again, SFOG may have one of the best coaster collections in the chain.
  5. Just really identify the people who are doing drugs/alcohol and stay away from them. They won't help you in any way and will never be your real friends. Also, don't hang around people who make you the butt of every joke. Honestly, just use common sense. You know, do your homework, study often, stick around those you feel comfortable with, don't do anything you aren't comfortable with, get to know your teachers, and stay involved. Most importantly, just be you and have fun! It's high school. True, college has a lot more freedom, but I feel a lot more stress than I did in high school. You're still a kid. Enjoy and embrace it. Good luck, and stick to it! You'll be out before you know it.
  6. I'll be sadly disappointed if media day does not have strippers all throughout the plaza with the first train full of them.
  7. Looks like it's between Blue Hawk, American Eagle, and Air Commander according to their YouTube channel. [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/bcGlqXOvxms[/youtu_be] Honestly, Blue Hawk sounds like something Cedar Fair would try to market for a smaller park, Air Commander would work better as a rename and retheme of Superman, and American Eagle just doesn't sound right when you already have GASM next to the ride.
  8. I like the black supports. It helps the ride not blend in with its patriotic neighbor next door. Hopefully, the ride will be a lot better when I come visit in June.
  9. From the Adventureland (Iowa) thread:
  10. Maybe they'll have boats full of strippers around the lake. Best of both worlds, right?
  11. If I've learned anything about this park, it's this: they'll find a way to fit it in and make it work. They're the kings of making rides fit in tight spaces.
  12. Probably because they're too busy constructing actual roller coasters to be retracking others at the moment.
  13. After discovering OpenRCT2, some very awesome CTRs, and falling in love with the game all over again, I decided to work on a park. Not sure if this will be shared on here or if I'll end up making this a test park to test layouts and scenery for my eyes only. Just an overview of what I have for a main street. A custom Intamin wing coaster I'm not really proud of.
  14. Or basically...we are the Detroit Lions of the amusement park industry? At least the park has more coasters than the Lions have Super Bowl appearances.
  15. Mind sending this to the various discussion threads that have the discussion of a new coaster every week?
  16. no. I agree. If SFOG does get this product, it won't be because of some silly anniversary. There's no way they could market that and it's not good business sense. Parks get major investments because it's a good time for it and they intend to grow, not celebrate some silly anniversary and coincidental number with RMC products. SF makes some stupid decisions but not like that. It was just an idea, and this is the same company that markets Super Loops as coasters and somehow marketed a Boomerang. Anyway, why wouldn't you get a large coaster such as this for a big anniversary? Why else did SFOT get NTAG for their anniversary then? It would get people through the gates, and by then, it would have been 6 years since DDD. In that time frame, the park has added a lot for every other demographic except for the coaster riders.
  17. What if SFOG gets the first prototype for 2017? Considering that SFOT got the first IBox in 2011 for their 50th anniversary, wouldn't it make sense that the 2nd park in the chain got the next innovative product from RMC for the 50th?
  18. I live 20 minutes away from where this is potentially going. I doubt it will happen, but if it does, I may be inclined to go even if I've never cared about the books/movies.
  19. I say that Six Flags Magic Mountain has enough coasters, but if any Six Flags park in my opinion deserves a new coaster, I say Great Escape. I don't think you got the joke.
  20. Soft Cell - Tainted Love
  21. Obviously there's going to be a 500 foot RMC Aquatrax that has a dark ride section, a tunnel into the lake, and is in the new boardwalk section of the park opening in 2020. Mantis doesn't exist as a standup, so that item is already done.
  22. I forgot where it was actually said, but I think Alan said that Six Flags' contract is up after next year, and if Six Flags wants anymore remodels, they'll be more expensive. I think that means Six Flags is done with RMC for now. Going back to 2012, RMC did add a large amount of Topper Track to Cyclone, and while the ride experience was much better in the new section, the rest of the ride was not touched with new Tipper Track, and as far as any enthusiast knows, Six Flags never had plans to Iron Horse Cyclone.
  23. This coaster is absolutely beautiful with the themeing surrounding it, and I applaud the park for keeping the layout a huge mystery. I can't wait to see what the final product looks like, and the fact that it's an Intamin gives me hopes that it gives a kick ass ride.
