Mmmm, Waltzer on South Pier. When I rode it, Derek and I were the only ones on the ride, and like ALL the ride ops were spinning our car. I think my neck hurt for the next week.

That's what I was thinking too! Phoenix being better than her brother, Twister! I thought Twister had a better edge over the Phoenix last summer! Sad to say, the Phoenix is not what it used to be in the 1990's. It has lost it's luster, and the slam dunk on the 2nd to last hop into the brake run is gone. I've been riding the Phoenix every summer for the past 20 years and I have noticed the Phoenix becoming mellow in the past 4 years. Wow, I'm glad I didn't ride it "back in the day" then, cause I rode it for the first time ever this year and it scared the crap outta me!

How cool would it be to just have one of the cars in your house? Wow, I'm a dork!

Ummmm, don't complain! People have to travel as far as you for good wood everywhere! Take, for example, me. I have Silver Comet at my doorstep, but besides that the closest decent woodie Is a 5 hour drive to Kennywood. The grass is always greener...

My Closet Coasters: -The Bat at Cedar Fair's Canada's Wonderland(heh heh heh) -Space Invader 2 at BPB -Anaconda at PKD -Zamperla family coasters (like Woodstock's Express at Dorney) -Treetops Coaster at Oakwood! -Cedar Creek Mine Ride at Cedar Point -Dragon Coaster at Rye Playland (Any coaster that has a tunnel that ROARs at you is automatically cool!)

HAH! I bought a pair to replace them. But they're not the same. I thought I was so clever, bringing an extra pair of shoes on the trip... and then I went and left them in the very first hotel room. According to the Thorpe Park website, Detonator is 100 ft tall, and shoots you back towards the ground up to 75 km/h and 5.5 g's. I assume that the shorter drop towers feel more forceful because there is less time and space for the energy to dissipate... The double shot at Rye Playland is only like 85 feet tall but it's the most intense one I've ever been on.
