  1. Theme Park Review Members: Angry_Gumball, and I are going to CGA for Haunt tonight. If you would like to meet up with us PLEASE let us know. It would be kind of cool to have a nice little group of TPR members tonight now wouldn't it?
  2. I'm one of those who just isn't in to this "paid-line cutting" business that are flash passes. I think a park should be able to produce fast enough moving lines to a point where it doesn't need it. For Magic Mountain, the operations are mediocre at best and for the most part, suck so it just gives them an excuse to have it IMO. It else gives the park a little bit of a less corporate "feel" if that makes any sense (pretty much every other major corporate park has a fast "pass" of some sort.) Anyways, that's just what I think, feel free to respectfully disagree.
  3. ^I take it you come from from the HersheyPark thread?
  4. Well, now that we're all done debating who the most colorblind person on TPR is...
  5. It disgusts me that anybody (let alone TPR members) would even be "ok" with this happening in a park. I don't even care if the parks a shitty low quality park like SFMM. There is simply no excuse for a scare actor (which bears no less responsibility for guests than a normal park employee) INSULTING A PARK GUEST! There's no excuse! None! It wasn't a funny joke (I don't even think that should even be considered a joke) and it had no purpose other than to insult an innocent paying park guest that's didn't even do anything! I'm still trying to figure out how this would even be semi-funny if anything.
  6. ^ What do you think the park could be so much better at? Just wondering.
  7. ^^Show Robb that! LOL! Taxes? Really?! What an idiot!
  8. Did you happen to take a look at the very front row? That was a great TR, and it looks like you had an amazing time at Cedar Point. Glad to see that you really enjoyed it!
  9. What's funny about your post, is that the UK actually has some of the most pointless color schemes I've ever seen on some coasters. No joke. They're all (for the most part) really faded (see Nemesis) and don't do anything for me. But that was a nice try.
  10. ^^^Nice Photo TR. Hopefully, I'll be able to talk to Sunfire again the next time I go to CGA before the end of the season.
  11. ^Forgetting to post an answer. Just wanted to clarify, in all seriousness, the correct answer to that question is absolutely nothing. What's worse than being embarressed by old people in front of of your friends?
  12. No wonder CGA has such good Haunt talent.
  13. Hey Robb and/or Elissa, How many tickets would you estimate are left right now for New Hotness? It doesn't have to be exact. Hoping to be able to go on this trip. Thanks
  14. ^I also addressed overrated-ness in that post as well. Not sure if that got through to anybody now to be honest. But sure, it's all opinion, so it's no big deal. This is very true. I don't really think a wooden coaster needs to be the smoothest thing ever (like I'm sure El Toro is) but it just needs to have a good layout. That's what makes a wooden coaster itself. I really don't get all the complaints either. Unless it's really uncomforably rough, there's nothing bad about it being a little rough. Not to mention the fact that most wooden coasters are older anyways. I completely agree with you on this.
  15. Exactly, I wouldn't call it the smoothest thing around so I guess I could see why some people don't like it but that doesn't automatically make it a bad ride. Also, like you said, it has airtime. Really good airtime at that. Still though, nobody goes to Cedar Point to ride Blue Streak. I see it as just a cherry on top to everything else the park offers.
  16. Yes, overrated. I'm sorry I hit a nerve, but that's my opinion. All I hear on here and many other forums is how great the airtime is and such (i.e. HYPING it up...hence "overhyped" ), when I don't think it's more than just a middle-of-the-pack wooden coaster. I don't think it's terrible, but I certainly don't think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread like most people HYPE IT UP to be. Looking at your coaster count you have only ridden 9 wooden coasters, all average at best, so I can see why you think what you think (I would probably rate Blue Streak the highest out of those too). I'm nowhere near to having even a remotely large coaster count, but if you ever get the chance, definitely try out El Toro, Ravine Flyer II, Boulder Dash, Phoenix, Voyage (although maybe not so much now), etc. and you might just change your tune. Also, as someone else said, what does Mean Streak have to do with anything? It is not rated high or hyped up by many people. I have been on far worse wooden coasters than Mean Streak, and my opinion would be the same whether it existed or not... No actually. Among the things you said in your original "overrated" post you said Now, let's think here. Blue Streak is one of two wooden coasters at Cedar Point, and you said Blue Streak was a "meh" ride. Well, the other woodent coaster in the park (as I'm not sure you'll agree) is NOT a "meh" coaster. It's a horrible coaster! So I know I don't even need to explain Mean Streak as you're obviously aware that it's a bad ride. On the other hand, we have Blue Streak which is a MUCH better ride. So out of the two wooden coasters at Cedar Point the one you choose to rip on for being bland, overrated, and overhyped is Blue Streak. That simply doesn't make sense to me, not only have I heard some not-so-great review from both coaster enthisiests and the GP about Blue Streak, but you're also ripping on a coaster that is at a park that's home to one of the worst coasters man can possibly ride at the moment. So I don't think you have very much reason to back up you're argument that of all the coasters at the park, Blue Streak is overrated, or a meh ride. Also as I mentioned in my original, let's not forget that that this is Cedar Point, the park that has (of all overrated coasters) Millenium Force. Need I say more? But sure, I'll keep taking my "mediocore" rides on Apocalypse and Ghostrider.
  17. Let's turn this into a mini-TPR gathering shall we? I see you all who choose to show up on Saturday.
  18. ^Thanks for sharing that. I wonder if KBF just decided to change it. I wasn't really aware they could even do that. If it is seasonal, that would be quite an intersting change. Welcome to Theme Park Review!
  19. LOL! Overrated? This one of the most underrated rides I've ever been on? You seriously think that out of everything at Cedar Point THIS is overrated? What else did you happen ride? Ever heard of Mean Streak? And don't even get me started with the overhyped comment. I haven't seen ONE person who is even close to hyped up about this ride.
  20. Really? I don't see BART coming to Santa Clara, it seems a little too upscale to have BART stopping at. Vallejo on the other hand...
  21. I really don't get this whole "let's bash any park that doesn't have a totally badass coaster count" kind of thought that seems to go around on this forum (espicially CGA's thread.) I don't want to be too judgemental (oh, fuck it I'm going to anyways) but it seems that the people who apparently have no "optimism" are the people that 1. Don't pay attention to the park 2. Bash the park unnecessarily (when there are many other parks that deserve this kind of bashing) and 3. Wouldn't care if the park closed down and like to act as if the park means nothing to anyone. I'm sorry but why don't you consider the people who actually DO care about the park ("*Gasp* people care about CGA?! That's I blasphemy tell you") and think that maybe the park does have some meaning. Has anybody actually checked out the flat rides and/or the water rides? My guess is no (from what everybody makes it sound like) and that they really only go to ride coasters for two hours and leave. Then you think you know everything about the park from that short visit that you took? Or you know what, forget that. Let's just say that some people by chance actually DO spend more than just a couple hours at the park, do you wait for the flats, or do you just mindlessly make your way through the park without admiring the fact that there's actually more to CGA then just coasters. Did you happen to do that or even try to semi-notice and appriciate it? Either ways, why not just give the park another freaking chance?! It has a new owner and new potential and it's not Cedar Fair. But please consider that some people actually like this park and it actually has something to it. Alright? /End rant
  22. ^Perhaps they missed the part about Gilroy Gardens not being sold...
