Thank you! Beat me to it. Yeah, ride nights are tons of fun! The hosting crew gets to dress up, have a party, whatever they want...this year my Twister crew did a rave and we had half the station lights off, strobe lights on the train, and we wore glow sticks and bracelets and stuff. It was great! CP employees always seem to just have so much fun! That's so awesome and nerdy at the same time with the strobe lights on the train. Really makes make want to work there! Don't you guys get workers from all over the country? -

What rides did you work at/operate the Point? Just wondering what working at Cedar Point is like from a perspective of a coaster enthusiast. How many more of your posts are going to contain the words "Big Dick" or "Breaking Wind" in them and talk about how much you don't like Cedar Point anymore and your experiences at SFMM are much better? -

Just wanted to re-quote this post from three years ago about Cedar Fair's take-over of CGA. "THEY DIDN'T HELP THE PARK AT ALL GO TO SIX FLAGS NO PLACE IS BETTER EVERWHERE ELSE IS DUMB BUT SIX FLAGS!!11!1" -

Gross. Beautiful! -
It comes down to if you're a SFMM fanboy or not more than anything. The airtime is NOT 100X better! That is all. I feel sorry for the people who haven't left California and haven't lost their virginity to real airtime before. But take it from someone who has experienced ejector-The airtime on Superman isn't amazing and it never was. You ride it for the speed and height, NOT for the airtime. Great ride? Yes. Great airtime? No!
-
More than ever. The change in seat direction and new height up the tower definitely makes the weightlessness or "airtime" more noticeable than ever. To be honest I never really felt all that weightless facing forward. That's completely untrue. I've ridden the odl and new version of this ride many times. The airtime is pretty much gone from the ride because of the OTSR's. It know you're going forwards now, but the OTSR's are pretty much what decide the airtime since there is so few to begin with. Don't go on Superman expecting great airtime, you will be greatly dissapointed. Instead, focus on the speed of the height, or better off, just enjoy the much better ride!

I totally missed it and somehow, I'm still living.

On a trip to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, in line for Giant Dipper: Person in my group: Guys! Let's try to do the back because it goes faster! Me: (Laughs) WHAT?! How does any part of the train go faster?! The train is connected! Do you not know basic physics!?" Person again: No! Shut up! Nobody cares! I was never talked to again in that line... Really? Needless to say I was speechless. -

Let me verify a couple of the statements that you've made in this novel. The train is stopped so early in the final set of brakes for a reason. The train needs enough momentum to carry it from those brakes back into the station in a short amount of time. You remember when you talked about how the train sometimes stopped really hard in the brakes out of the last tunnel? A lot of the time that's because the train actually HAS been bumped up in the final brake run. The train is moving too slow going back into the station, and it sets up (hard stops, whatever you want to call it). Essentially, the train being that couple feet back in the final brake run helps the interval time out A LOT. Also...the operator has no control over how the train is braking in the station. Don't know where you found that bit of information from, but the only coaster at Cedar Point that has manual station brakes is Gemini. And by the way, your review of the third hill made me pretty ticked. The third hill on Magnum XL-200 is by far the greatest experience of all time on any roller coaster ever. It is 5 seconds of pure floater/ejector airtime (depending on where you are sitting) and it's unlike any other hill on any other ride. As for the hills at the end, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Those hills are AWESOME. Triangular bunny hills FTW! Agreed. This complaining of this cracks me up. I've ridden Magnum multiple times. The last thing that you're thinking about is the brake run when the ride finally finishes. You are however, thinking about the ride experience and how great the airtime was. Also, appreciate that Magnum is one of the very few rides out there that doesn't suck towards the end compared to the beginning of the ride. Maybe they should stop riding Magnum if they seriously just can't handle the brakes. -

You know what, you're right. I bet if they sold it to Busch instead, it would just be an AMAZING park! It could just do SO MUCH in beautiful Western Ohio! They could bring in SO much more people than the market that CP and KI has! [/sarcasm] P.S. Learn to capitalize proper nouns if you want to make it look like you even remotely know what you're talking about. -
Cedar Point giving all of their rides to parks in the Middle East where they will never operate them. What's worse than having a dream about being run over by Top Thrill Dragster, then waking up, and finding out you actually are.

Can we please stop with this whole "CEDAR FAIR CLOSED DOWN MY HOME PARK AND NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE JUST A COUPLE MORE HOURS TO CEDAR POINT! I HATE CEDAR FAIR SO MUCH!" bitching? Seriously, GL had NO potential whatsoever. I know they're hardcore fans won't acknowledge it but it's true. There's no way that ANY park (let alone GL) could survive being in Eastern Ohio. There's simply no demand for it with two other much better theme park resorts in the area. Yeah, I get that it was so much closer the Cedar Point and so on and so fourth, but be realistic, how many times did you actually see the park thriving since 2005? Also, I don't know what makes you people think that Cedar Fair was the company that threw the park into a ditch because the company that really did that was Six Flags. Six Flags bribed everyone in that area with thinking that it was actually possible by investing TONS in the park when they bought it 2000 (without a whole lot of thought) and ended up a few years later (with sinking attendance) saying "Whoops! We never thought that'd happen. Guess we'll have to sell the park since it isn't performing to what we thought!" So they sold the park to Cedar Fair which tried HARD to bring attendance back up, but they eventually realized the reality that the park simply didn't have demand and the only people that came lived very close to the park. So, they closed it. If it had potential, people would be trying to bring it back together (See Kentucky Kingdom) but that simply isn't the case for this park. Also, I want to make clear that I'm not one of those people who's all for the execs and corporate companies who says "THE EXCUTIVES NEED MORE PAY!!11" I'm much for less cooperate companies. However, the reality is that Cedar Fair made a decision that made sense and GL simply wouldn't have managed with ANY company. That should be made clear. -

California's Great America Knott's Berry Farm Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Six Flags Magic Mountain Disneyland will be added to this list in December. MUST... LEAVE... CALIFORNIA... SOON. Everything here is getting so damn old and boring. Disneyland and possibly Knott's being the only exceptions. -
^That moment when you realize that most of those 300 foot giga coasters would probably be built by B&M if anything and actually be very mediocore and change the image of giga coasters from being great, unique rides to very midiocore, slightly taller hyper coasters. No really, that's all Leviathan is. A taller version of their hyper coaster. I'm sure it'll please the GP though.
