  1. Exactly! The prequel trilogy IS STAR WARS to many (young) people. The same will happen with these new movies! Star Wars evolves and continues to capture new audiences. That's why it's an amazing and obvious choice for a theme park!
  2. The opposite, actually. A maintenance crew has been working on it at the back of the Western parking lot for the past month or so. The repairs it needed were just very extensive, so they removed the gondola and arms to work on them. Thanks - Glad I asked!
  3. I saw some photos on Twitter indicating that they were removing Riptide for good last night. Any confirmation on this? If Boomerang wasn't so popular, I would say that they should remove it. That, along with the Riptide footprint, would make for a nice chuck of space to build something cool. According to a rough Google Earth calculation, it's about 80% of the Log Ride's footprint! But Boomerang is so popular with the public. It's even listed as a top ride on the cedarfair.com Knott's page! Plus it got those new trains so my idea is just a pipe dream.
  4. I was at the park on Sunday. It was hot and crowded, but I had a good time. Springfield was great! They did a wonderful job with the new theming and food options. And Duff beer was surprisingly good! I expected the taste to be somewhere between the Jurassic Park runoff water and Natty Light. I was pleasantly surprised. My friends and I were stumped at how they've never made a Treehouse of Horror maze during Halloween. Seems obvious, but who are we to armchair theme-park-manage?
  5. I'm telling you. My question last year at West Coast Bash might come true. We might get a wig shop named Silver Mullet in Screamin' Swing's spot. Love it! How about a new Bar & Grill called "Roast Rider"
  6. Is Soak City included with King's Island admission? I feel like I would like water parks a lot more if my local parks didn't charge separately for admission! I never choose to buy water park tickets over the main park. (Knott's and Magic Mountain )
  7. This is a great reason why I think this will do well. Yes, they are creating a Star Wars land, but they are also creating a Space Land, I believe they will do a great job of being relatable to the non-fans because everyone has a general understand of space and the concept of aliens. This land is just an alien world with space ships and wacky things going on. The only thing that would need explaining is the Force; which they may not even touch. In Harry Potter everything has to be explained, so there's a lot lost on the casual non-fan. I disagree - I don't think the Force needs explaining either. There are Jedi with magic powers, good and bad. They are extremely easy to identify and understand. If people can understand the concept of aliens, they can understand the concept of Blue or Green wizards = good, Red evil looking wizards = bad. This is going to be a massive hit for everyone. Any fan-service or easter eggs will be done in a way that avoids impacting the non-fans ability to enjoy themselves completely.
  8. The people who are nit-picky enough to be bothered by Tomorrowland not being adjacent to Star Wars Land should realize that Tomorrowland = the future and StarWars = a long time ago. Not that it matters, but if you are that detail oriented, look at the details!
  9. I hope they add a west entrance into Toon Town, to help with foot traffic.
  10. How on Earth did a new dev team come along and make such an intense improvement in so little time? This whole situation is so bizarre. Atari hasn't done anything to earn my trust, but that screen shot looks great! I wonder if Robb has any input since he knows the industry.
  11. Is this the same type of powder they use during Color Runs?
  12. You could definitely be justified making that argument. For me, it shares the top 3 with Xcelerator and Montezooma's.
  13. I am also prone to motion sickness. I need a lot of time between rides, I couldn't keep up on those ERT either. Well now I like your avatar image even more!
  14. I'm a roller coaster fan who's prone to motion sickness (lol, I know). Because of this, I rarely marathon or re-ride coasters. I also try to alternate between coasters and other rides as much as possible throughout the day. Every once in a while I get a bad day at the park where I briefly ask myself: "Why do I love these things again?" Luckily, I usually walk it off with some fresh air and I'm right back in line for the next one. To be honest though, I'm not sure if I could keep up during a TPR-style trip if I tried!
  15. Nice pics! Love the cool bro casually throwing up the piece sign on Corkscrew.
  16. Don't get your hopes up. I believe San Diego has nightmarish construction restrictions when it comes to height. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. Mako looks great. SeaWorld always has the best looking concept art.
  18. Haha! I love her helmet. I grew up watching Gayle Anderson ride SFMM coasters. I remember watching her ride Superman: The Escape when it opened! It was a huge deal. Side note: Scream's paint looks WAY better now! Nice job.
  19. Check out the new Matterhorn upgrades for the 60th. Looks great!
  20. During the Q&A with Ernest Yale (Triotech CEO), he referred to the ride multiple times as "the game". He made it pretty clear that Triotech is a videogame company. My favorite part of the Q&A was when Ernest talked about the differences between destination and regional parks. "People will fly from all over to come to California and Knott's. Nobody is going to fly to Canada's Wonderland just to ride a dark ride." Followed by silence and then laughter since the room was full of coaster geeks.
  21. I never actually watched it, but I can say the Christmas Vacation 2 poster is my worst experience with the franchise.
  22. --- Accidental double post. Sorry! ---
  23. I thought I was unusual for thinking Vegas Vacation is the best. It's dumb as hell, but I love it. I'm not sure about this movie yet (the last thing we need is more 80's remakes/sequels), but the images make it look better than I expected. At least they are an improvement from this atrocity: My personal ranking: Vegas > Vacation > Christmas >>>>>>>>>> European
