Excellent coaster. Better theming than on Nemmy. I'm gonna try this one soon. -

Kingda Ka. The bigger the better. I don't mind OTSRs on rockets. -
Two words: El Condor.

What do you hate most in a themepark?
mark.w replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Long lines. Definitely. I never visit the parks in the summer holiday with a few exceptions to the rule. 2. Then unfriendly frustrated staff but this is very rare. 3. Closed attractions. Well, depends which one attractions . -
queue blockers rude ride ops strict over-protective rules queue jumpers loud screams I don't mind queue smokers eating, drinking in the q-lines a group of 10 people singing a song

I like open source software such as VirtualDub.

Tusenfryd Discussion Thread
mark.w replied to Shadowforce's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This ride seems to be way better than both 2005 accelerators, Rita and Kanonen. -
I have ridden several spinning car coasters. They don't make me sick at all. Spinning flat rides are much worse.

Is there any coaster you are afraid of? I used to be scared of new types of coaster in the past. The very first time on Nemesis and Oblivion was quite scary. Since I have done plenty of rides the only coasters I would ride with a high adrenaline rush are Intamin rockets but there is no way I could ever give up. I never left the q-line because of fear. I can ride anything no matter whether I'm scared or not, unless the construction is questionable. The only rides I try to avoid are spinning and merry go round rides because they make me sick.

mark.w replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The first one. It looks more modern. The second one would be my second choice. -

I agree. Project Stealth is not as tall as KK or TTD. It should work fine without major problems. A rollback can happen though. -

Expedition GeForce and Goliath. -
Kingda Ka- Who cares?
mark.w replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Because its nothing new, however I'd like to ride it . -
Goliath, El Condor, Xpress - front Robin Hood, La Via Volta - back El Condor is rough. Xpress has a weak launch.

How many coasters have you been on?
mark.w replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I doubt I will ever reach the count over 100 coasters. I keep visiting the same parks over and over again too many times. -
Spell Checker on Google Toolbar!
mark.w replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Good find becuase when it comes to find typos I run for gold. Does it work with IE or other browsers too? -
Airtime machines are the best for re-rides. I don't visit theme parks regulary (lack of time, money, different sort of things to do) but when I do I ride as many times as I can.

Why Do You Love Theme Park Review?
mark.w replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm a newbie. This forums seems to have some interesting topics though. -
I didn't know it can go so far. I mean, I have never met with a negative comment about the fact that I like roller coasters. On the Internet I find a lot of things like this. I used to play pinball a lot and I am a member of a pinball enthusiast forum. Honestly they have discussed the same thing. The general public probably react the same way no mater if it is a coaster enhusiast, a linux enhusiast or a pinball enhusiast. I presume it is because of stereotypes.

I don't have any problem with that. I talk about coasters only when the coaster enthusiasts are around. In otherwise I change the topic to something else.

What parks do you plan to visit in 2006?
mark.w replied to coasterguy618's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As for new parks, maybe Warner Bros Movie World Madrid and Universal Port Aventura. These will be completely new parks for me. Nothing for sure though. -
I thought it would be interesting. I have ridden shed load of Vekoma loopers and corkscrew variations but they don't affect on me at all. The vertrical loop is too small and not funny either. Yet I have to ride a B&M looper and a floorless coaster to make my final judgement on inversions. Ejector air is something I never have enough. That's why EGF and Goliath (Walibi World) is on the top of my list. The first drop is usually not that intense appart from a few coasters such as EGF or Colossos (Heide Park). The launch is something I have discovered recently during my stay at Alton Towers. I rode Xpress at Walibi World before but Rita is definitely more powerful. Floaters are kinda strange. Silver Star is the only proper floater I have ridden. I choose ejector air.

Its a shame that new Intamin accelerators (and possibly mega/giga coasters) will have OTSRs instead of lap bars. I was hoping "Stealth" (Thorpe Park) to have lap bars but it ain't happen. Since there are no new Intamin mega coasters I presume these rides will use OTSRs as well. It looks like the lap bars will be very rare in the future. Personally I think that lap bars were way better. Its not something that I can hardly notice. OTSRs really affect airtime. If you are tall enough they become uncomfortable. This is why I recon that TTD is better than KK. Well, share your thoughts.
