SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
beatle11 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Are you kidding me? Do you really think the city is going to allow someone who can't spell at a 5th grade level to run this effort? Seriously, What the frak is "Toon"? I'm honestly flabbergasted. Hey, I have an idea, why not use the big dipper donation money to send Danny Boy to school to learn to spell? -
Umm, wow. He says that never flips riders upside down which is pretty amazing considering how much that spins. Looks vomit inducing for sure though.

^Oh, I'm definitely not worried. I'm especially looking forward to Knoebels during the trip. Would be nice if it were open though. -

No news on this lately? I'm hoping it's ready for August and Road to CP but I'm not going to hold my breath. -
Half Life fans really need to check this out.

Six Flags America is about 45 mins to an hour away from Downtown D.C depending on traffic. King's Dominion is 1 1/2 to 2hrs away again depending on traffic.

Great report! I'll definitely have to get to the UK sometime.

All three of those parks have lots of large "big boy" coasters. CP and SFGA have the higher rated coasters though. Millenium Force was rated top steel coaster in the world for 2010, TTD, Magnum, and Maverick and the Raptor are all highly rated as well. At SFGA, El Toro is arguably the best woodie in the world, rated #2 for 2010. Nitro and Kingda Ka are really highly rated too. SFMM does have some new and improved stuff coming this year though, but you will have to contend with the crowds for Superman and the new Zack-Spin. It's really up to you. SoCal has other parks around closer by so that's something to consider. Any one of those choices will get you some crazy coaster action. Whatever you end up choosing, have fun! EDIT: Would Q-Bot be available for Superman and the Zack-Spin during opening week?

^^Lombardi got fined 50k for his comments last night about that.

Police? You'd think the fuzz would be too busy to worry about kids playing hooky.

Hard to believe that the Giant Dipper is 85 years old. It looks in such great shape for such an old coaster. It's great that it has been so well taken care of. -

I can't help but laugh at that. Anyone whose has ridden a Zamperla Volare will probably understand why. -
I don't count anything really tiny. The small Tivoli's are an example of something like that. Although many others do count them. t's really up to you whether you want to count something or not.

No one can top Jerry Seinfeld. I had the opportunity to see him live this past summer and he was fantastic. He hasn't lost his touch at all. Other comedians I enjoy are Jeff Dunham, and the Blue Collar Comedy Tour (Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White, Larry the Cable Guy). Also have to give props to fellow Canadian Russell Peters.

I've never seen it, but hate it with a passion. That's all some of my co-workers discuss at work and it drives me crazy.
