If you don't get in on the bash at BGW, definitely get the Quick Queue, then at least you wont have to stand in line for everything. That being said, if your friends don't mind, the event price is well worth the cost for everything Robb and Elissa put together. See you there either way!
I'd definitely add Knoebel's to your list. Probably about 1 1/2 hours from Hershey. You could also consider Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I would however agree with Elissa's recommendation to do a TPR trip. She and Robb take care of everything, and you don't have to worry about driving.
I only got a chance to ride Kingda Ka once on my trip last year, but there was definitely air at the top, and I didn't find it nearly as shaky as you described. Sounds like maybe you got it on a bad day, or maybe I got it on a good day. That being said, the definite consensus is that TTD trumps it. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
For all the time it took, Howson didn't do very well with this. I'll cut him a bit of slack since Nash tied his hands, but the deal should have included at least one of Kreider, Stepan or Del Zotto for Columbus to get reasonable value. Sather successfully took advantage of the situation.
^ I would agree with that statement.
Six Flags Great America bought the Little Dipper when Kiddieland closed, so you can find it there if your looking for it.
