  1. I'm taking a wait-and-see attitude on this, as it depends on which rides have Fast Lane and how the park handles it. Hell, the afternoon lines for Volcano couldn't possibly get any worse.
  2. Yeah, Grizzly is simply boring. Bandit and Anaconda are downright malevolent.
  3. Yep--the use of "banos" in the sign offers an excellent clue.
  4. ^And don't forget that Kathie Lee Gifford was their spokesperson for a number of years.
  5. I've stayed at the Extended Stay America in Stevenson Ranch (Pico Canyon exit just south of SFMM on I-5), and have had good luck booking it through Hotwire and Orbitz. It's in a pretty nice area with other hotels and restaurants, too.
  6. My guess is that they have procedures "in place"--but how many ships actually follow them?
  7. I always enjoy your reports from exotic locales, Martin. This parks look much nicer than I expected. One of my coworkers is originally from Guatemala and usually goes back a few times each year to visit her family, who live in a "sheltered enclave" of the country. She mentioned to me that it was a lot like Mexico--just "haves" and "have nots."
  8. Or engaging in . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qbc2J0zZr8 . . . cat juggling! It would nice to see some actual "journalism" for a change. They just report any little "fact" that someone else spews out nowadays.
  9. Is this the same guy who ran Action Park in New Jersey? This sounds like a winning idea for Opryland and Dollywood--and a good way to "test the waters" for a full-fledged amusement park again sometime down the road.
  10. ^Agreed. The Vekoma Corkscrew is one type of ride that deserves to just disappear.
  11. ^Agreed. I think the ship's crew and passengers would've been better off with these two in charge:
  12. ^Are you insuinating that cartoons lie?
  13. ^My answer would be "no." Although the name "Titanic" was thrown around in the media, I wouldn't put this disaster on the same level. However, I have no intention of ever sitting through Titanic again, because I think it's one of the most overrated movies ever made.
  14. While I rarely buy Quick Queue at BGW, my home park, I tend to go there on days when I know I won't need it; however, if I'm there with out-of-state friends at, say, Howl-o-Scream on a Saturday, I always recommend buying it. If I'm visiting a park that I know I probably be visiting again for some time, I uaually go for a skip-the-line pass if it's offered.
  15. BGW may be closed until late March, but there is evidence that the switch to Coke has begun (picture posted on the park's Facebook page).
  16. ^Conditions were pretty shocking at Lake Tahoe last December, as well. There was no snow around my parents' house at Kings Beach, and the ski areas were making snow like crazy. This after a few years of absolutely insane snowfalls in the Sierra Nevada.
  17. I'm a fan of Premier launched coasters (especially the Mr. Freeze rides), so I'm glad to see a new one being planned.
  18. I agree with you about the Hawaiian pork sandwich--the griddled Greek cheese was tasty, too.
  19. ^Five will get you ten that SyFy will get ahold of this story, only the survivors will be marooned on an island full of Supergators, while their rescuers are harrassed by Mega Sharks.
  20. I thought Roswell was the "Dairy Capital of the Southwest." Where are all the cows? Did the aliens explode them all?
  21. Don't forget the Easter Bunny.
  22. Those cheesecakes look excellent--send me one of each.
  23. ^If Jeebus wanted us to shift gears, he wouldn't have given us automatic transmissions.
  24. ^I second the Lobster Pot Pie--my Mom would probably love something like that, as she's quite the lobster fan. The pie looked amazing, too.
