Oldest Coaster You've Ridden
cfc replied to MSLSM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me, it's the Scenic Railway at Luna Park in Melbourne. The park has been operating it since 1912. -
Yes, if my daughter was assulted I'd wait almost 3 years to report it too... What a joke. I don't know if I'd call it a joke, based on the limited amount of information we have. The daughter may not have come forward about being assaulted because she felt threatened or because of the trauma she experienced. We simply don't know enough about the case to make a judgment about its merits.

~Riverfront Amusement Park~ Floods[RCT3]

Complete with periodic flooding--yep, that park's in Sacramento, alright. Definitely a step up from Funderland over at William Land Park. -

I am curious to see if new trains will help Apocalypse. It was a pretty bad ride in its "Iron Wolf" days. -

If they can get people up the moutain, and the Ghost Town itself is in good shape, they might be able to open--although I"m still dubious about rushing to get ready, only to have attendance tank the first season. I guess I just need to see more of the plan before I'm entirely convinced that this will fly; however, Ms. Presley does seem to have a grasp of what needs doing (adding a zipline attraction is a very good idea). -

Here is the perfect song to sing while riding that coaster. -

^I remember that one, and I was surprised the park looked as good as it did, too. But I also agree that it probably wouldn't be wise to push too much for a summer 2012 opening. Surface features are one thing--infrastructure is another. -

^^That would be a great spot for a Haunt maze; may as well get some use out of the remaining "crypt" theming. -

A 2012 opening seems unlikely. I imagine there's a lot to be done after nearly three years of minimal upkeep. -

I wonder if those plans include scrapping Cliffhanger and starting over again? That ride has been an albatross hanging from that park's neck for years. -

I'm looking forward to Windseeker, becasue it sounds like a "flat ride" that I might actually like (I do enjoy Star Flyers). -

So, I guess Hufflepuffs and Slytherins don't mix? The only studios I've ever toured were Universal and NBC (back in the 1970s, when our group bumped into two "Gong Show" icon "Gene Gene, the Dancing Machine"). I've always wanted to try the other studio tours. -

^I would love to see a slide like this at Water Country in Williamsburg. The Kochs do have a nice water park in Splashin' Safari. -

Hmm--you know enough parks have problems keeping Boomerangs running. I can't imagine anyone going for a potential maintenance nightmare like this. Still, it is an interesting concept.
