  1. Thorpe does seem to have a fairly clever marketing tesm (the ad with the Swarw "attacking" the bicyclists was pretty good). And, lord, I've had so many people forward to me (on mention) the infamous "armless-and-legless-test-dummy" story.
  2. ^Alpengeist wasn't running that day because it was two cold, and I don't think Apollo's Chariot was either. But those old Arrows were made of sterner stuff, so you could ride both BBW and the Loch Ness Monster that day. We now return you to the KD thread, which is already in progress.
  3. I rode the Big Bad wolf during a snowstorm once. Came off with the worst case of brain freeze ever thanks to being showered with freezing water during the entire ride. I imagine I305 could bring on frost bite.
  4. I get the impression from the artwork that the trees of the Black Forest are somehow responsible for wrecking the bridge--like they've pulled it apart.
  5. All the little details are what make the Lego parks so much fun to explore--there's no way to take them all in during a single visit. You posted some pics of stuff I missed when I was there back in in October.
  6. ^The sound of squealing brakes would be pretty cool, too.
  7. They didn't provide any specifics on any effects in the building or on the bridge. I'm very curious to see what the bridge will look like when it's finished. There may be a few hints in this concept artwork.
  8. Those slides look completely nuts--should make for some good pratfalls at the bottom.
  9. ^It's a town and a brand name. I've never tried Troegs, but I imagine this Mango IPA would put me right to sleep after one bottle.
  10. BGW is offering one "front-of-the-line" pass per day for Verbolten as part of Quick Queue Unlimited Plus. We now return you to the Kings Dominion thread, which is already in progress.
  11. When I visited Knott's for the first time in nine years back in 2010, I was little distressed by what I saw--they seemed to have missed a few steps. When I went to West Coast Bash last year, my enthusiasm for the park was revived--the place was full of life again. This update merely reconfirms that conviction.
  12. I wonder if they'll be using designated rows just for Fast Lane people BGW does for Quick Queue.
  13. Thank you for feeding TPR's need for dirt, Larry. Looks like they're digging up quite a lot of it there.
  14. All they have to do is bring back these two attractions: Problem solved.
  15. Interesting--I didn't know Zamperla made a spinning mouse with a four-car train. I guess it's their version of Sierra Sidewinder.
  16. ^Are you referring to the decision not to buy Fast Lane? I'm taking a wait-and-see approach. I tend to avoid days when KD is going to be super-crowded, and the only line that's a problem is Volcano (always ride that first thing).
  17. Why, thank you. I think I will have a cupcake. Happy Birthday, Kristin!
  18. I agree. When it comes to mini-golf courses, the tackier, the better.
  19. Of course! You've just won . . . A MAJOR AWARD!
  20. ^^I'm fine with the gray track, myself--the choice of color may have something to do with theming and landscaping the park has planned for the rest of the ride. ^There were work lights on in the show building; even then, parts of the structure were still pretty dark.
  21. Trust me--it's usually a considerably longer wait than that.
  22. I much prefer Dollywood's once upon a time there was an eagle that lived near the smokey mountains. Far more compelling and rich. Allow me to demonstrate something. Questions? To each his or her own. I think they're both going to be very good or great rides.
  23. ^At least one of the trains' "license plates" appears to say "wolf crossing," I understand. This question came up during the tour, as well, and the answer was "there may be some more BBW tributes."
  24. ^^^It sounds like your dream gig, Scott. You get to maintain a fleet of amazing vintage sports cars, and annoying customers are never seen again!
  25. They were very coy on specifics about the thematic elements in the building. But what you're saying would jibe with the hints they've dropped in the animated videos the park has released. I'm hoping there's something involving a Big Bad Wolf and gnomes, myself.
