  1. ^I think it's the prison cell where they kept Al Capone.
  2. A shooting dark ride would make sense to me.
  3. For me, it's the Scenic Railway at Luna Park in Melbourne. The park has been operating it since 1912.
  4. The very definition of either "courage" or "foolhardiness": Standing next to an Intamin cable in its natural habitat!
  5. Yes, if my daughter was assulted I'd wait almost 3 years to report it too... What a joke. I don't know if I'd call it a joke, based on the limited amount of information we have. The daughter may not have come forward about being assaulted because she felt threatened or because of the trauma she experienced. We simply don't know enough about the case to make a judgment about its merits.
  6. Did Joey follow up this pose . . . . . . with this dance?
  7. Complete with periodic flooding--yep, that park's in Sacramento, alright. Definitely a step up from Funderland over at William Land Park.
  8. ^I think that's correct. The Proslide loops are "flat," as well (unlike the Aqualoops).
  9. ^Thanks for the update. I was rather looking forward to trying those slides when TPR was in Australia last year. Interesting. You're not allowed to wear a shirt at all on Vanish Point at Water Country in Williamsburg, but it's not as crazy as the Aqualoop slides.
  10. ^When TPR was there last spring, the Aqualoops were closed for some sort of refurbishment. I was never clear on what was wrong--only that riders were having some "issues" with them. For all I know, they're probably OK now.
  11. I hope they have better luck with these Aqualoop slides than they've had at Wet 'n' Wild in Australia so far.
  12. I am curious to see if new trains will help Apocalypse. It was a pretty bad ride in its "Iron Wolf" days.
  13. If they can get people up the moutain, and the Ghost Town itself is in good shape, they might be able to open--although I"m still dubious about rushing to get ready, only to have attendance tank the first season. I guess I just need to see more of the plan before I'm entirely convinced that this will fly; however, Ms. Presley does seem to have a grasp of what needs doing (adding a zipline attraction is a very good idea).
  14. A Miler kiddie coaster can be yours for a mere 50 grand.
  15. Here is the perfect song to sing while riding that coaster.
  16. ^I remember that one, and I was surprised the park looked as good as it did, too. But I also agree that it probably wouldn't be wise to push too much for a summer 2012 opening. Surface features are one thing--infrastructure is another.
  17. ^^That would be a great spot for a Haunt maze; may as well get some use out of the remaining "crypt" theming.
  18. A 2012 opening seems unlikely. I imagine there's a lot to be done after nearly three years of minimal upkeep.
  19. This is one of the most interesting new coaster projects out there, along with Verbolten.
  20. I wonder if those plans include scrapping Cliffhanger and starting over again? That ride has been an albatross hanging from that park's neck for years.
  21. I'm looking forward to Windseeker, becasue it sounds like a "flat ride" that I might actually like (I do enjoy Star Flyers).
  22. I always found the storyline to be bit forced, and won't be sorry to see it go. Still, keepng a few "thrill" elements, like geysers and that old "rickety bridge" effect, would be OK.
  23. So, I guess Hufflepuffs and Slytherins don't mix? The only studios I've ever toured were Universal and NBC (back in the 1970s, when our group bumped into two "Gong Show" icon "Gene Gene, the Dancing Machine"). I've always wanted to try the other studio tours.
  24. ^I would love to see a slide like this at Water Country in Williamsburg. The Kochs do have a nice water park in Splashin' Safari.
  25. Hmm--you know enough parks have problems keeping Boomerangs running. I can't imagine anyone going for a potential maintenance nightmare like this. Still, it is an interesting concept.
