  1. Yeah, I never understood what made the old Eurosat "French." The plan to freshen up the old dino ride sounds good, too.
  2. I just had to clean out this thread. All of you who wish to debate politics and history, please do so over email or private messages, where you can hurl all the epithets you want at each other. Thank you.
  3. I've been wondering about why Kings Dominion kept the name "Rebel Yell" as long as they did. It is, indeed, associated with the Confederacy; that being said, most people aside from historians and southerners wouldn't make the connection. Maybe they should've re-themed it to Billy Idol and nullified the controversy. But remember that, in the end, this is just a classic wooden roller coaster. As long as they maintain the ride, I don't care if they name it "Laser Snake Horse on Fire," "Wooden Apple Zapple with Caramel Sauce," or "Fill-in-the-Blank Hawk." Overall, this conversation has been relatively civil. Let's keep it that way. Thank you.
  4. There's always room for a Steely Dan reference. Great photos of a beautiful city.
  5. Hmm--go karts aren't my thing, so I'll probably pass. Interesting concept, though.
  6. The old Mystery River was just plain odd. I'm glad the park is going to freshen it up. But will there be fire?
  7. Yes, they did give the public a chance for a last ride on Big Bad Wolf.
  8. I think the interactive element helps. People always want to see if they can top their previous score (or beat their friends).
  9. I agree. It makes sense to use VR on an "OK" family suspended coaster like Dreamcatcher (as opposed to a big ride like SeaWorld's Kraken).
  10. This! I'd much rather have a restraint than a claustrophobic covering. I wonder why they didn't go for that option.. How about this one in Japan? Chuck I immediately thought of that upon seeing the modified logs, but couldn't think of what trip/park that photo was from haha. I'd rather be completely closed off than half and half. This one is at Kijima.

  12. Europe in the Air is becoming the "first VR simulator" this year ("Battle for Erie"). It's themed to Irish mythology. We'll see how that goes.
  13. There's always the craft-beer room in the Festhaus.
  14. Yep. I imagine the expense of maintaining DarKastle finally did it in. It was complicated to run, and it hasn't been a huge draw for a few years.
  15. I could see some families making a Christmas Day visit to BGW part of their own Christmas traditions. It's an interesting experiment, and I'm curious to see how it pans out.
  16. I like how the park isn't just one big mass of concrete. The alpine slide is a plus, too.
  17. I've heard nothing but good things about Six Flags Mexico, with the exception of the Batman SLC.
  18. Anytime someone posts about the Tokyo Disney Resort, it makes me want to go back.
  19. This will be a big improvement for the park--much more inviting.
  20. I've never ridden this coaster. However, from what I've heard, the VR should feature a gang of casino security goons beating the living hell out of you to match the actual ride experience.
  21. I remember your TR from that Disney River Cruise--the goulash looks good to me (as does everything else).
  22. If you're into beer and pizza, it's tough to top Pizza Port.
  23. Wishful thinking! Yes, if only.
  24. ^Yes, it might be a good fit for a small family park, but not a major theme park.
  25. That was my first thought, too.
