  1. ^Tough to say, as the launch and the g-forces would be interrelated. The airtime over the first hill is crazy!
  2. ^OK, that's disturbing on a number of levels.
  3. ^I expected to hate X2, as well, but was pleasantly surprised.
  4. ^I witnessed Excaliber at Six Flags St. Louis in action; of course, they were a bit delayed because someone puked in one of the gondolas, but it did run. I wish Silverwood good luck with the inverting Frisbee.
  5. The guy on the left looks as though Mike Tyson had just punched him in the gut.
  6. ^I fixed your original post. You left the "jpg" off the end of the URL.
  7. I think the last movie I saw at a drive-in was that terrible 1970s version of King Kong.
  8. A new coaster at this park wouldn't hurt--just as long as they keep the Great Pistolero Round-Up shooting dark ride.
  9. ^It's been a few years since I've ridden it, but it was in my top ten at one time.
  10. Yet here you are talking about it in a thread devoted to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Yes, many posters here have made fun of the "YOLO" tagline, but there is rarely such a thing as bad publicity.
  11. ^At least she hasn't shared a bed with Bob Dylan.
  12. Making money could mean: Less capital improvments Less staff Less maintenance Higher prices I just don't trust Apollo. I share Larry's concern. If they're about making money in the short term, then bailing out, that would be terrible for the SeaWorld parks.
  13. ^I caught the B-52s at BGW a couple of years ago. Fun show, but Fred Schneider didn't look too thrilled about being there. I didn't know that Sheryl Crow had played at Universal Orlando before. However, it's still a bit odd to see a woman who has shared the stage with the likes of Eric Clapton and Keith Richards playing at a theme park. (But, as I said, Bob Dylan has played at KD.)
  14. So, Sheryl Crow is now playing the theme-park circuit. (Caught her in Atlanta a few years ago, and she was good.) Oh, well--Bob Dylan played at Kings Dominion back in the 1990s.
  15. ^Top Secret is Val Kilmer's best film--he's actually very funny in it. I just loved the mash up of old WWII films, Cold War intrigue, and 1960s beach party movies, with a touch of Blue Lagoon for good measure. Too bad it bombed on release. I think it was just too weird for general audiences. Too bad "skeet surfing" never caught on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaXOHCNgYrc
  16. Same here. I like to hit BGW on Friday evening during the summer from time to time, but I spend an entire day there when I have company in town.
  17. ^There's a video in the linked article.
  18. I think there's a continuum here. Parks where you can't stay long enough (DisneySea) down to parks where one day is far too long (Mt. Olympus).
  19. I haven't been to SFA in a few years, but I've had both good and bad visits there. Wild One is still their best ride, although Superman and Joker's Jinx are both fun. And in the park's defense, it can be a friendly place in the spring--before the summertime hordes descend.
  20. ^Yeah, but where's the new yogurt shop?
  21. Busch Gardens has a new offer for Virginia residents.
  22. Great pictures, Hanno. I like how Heide park followed through on Krake's theming.
  23. The York Pepermint Patty S'more tasted great, but made me feel a bit ill.
