Good morning Mr. Heart, it was nice you could join me here on this fine day for the opening of our newest attraction! Here is the Logo for the ride! Shot0112.bmp The park is packed today! Everyone wants to try out a roller coaster that races! Shot0113.bmp Several rides were re-painted, the Zipper now matches Thunder Racer! Shot0114.bmp The Merry-Go-Round is now gold and red! Shot0115.bmp And the Ring Of Fire is now colored a buring red! Shot0116.bmp This station is great! Why don't we walk down by the train tracks to get some good views? Shot0117.bmp There they go! The Red and Blue six-seater racing trains! Shot0118.bmp There they go....towards the massive lift hill... Shot0119.bmp Look how majestic this ride is! Shot0120.bmp Here is the final turn around...well Mr. Heart, I hope you enjoy the ride, I must be off, I have an important meeting regarding our expansions... -
Did anyone ever figure out what those survey markers were? I believe someone at some point put them all on an arial picture of the park...does anyone have something similar to what I mentioned? Also I am very happy to hear Xcelerator's second train is complete again....when I went during the haunt, the queue was completely full, and I suspect the wait was almost four hours....no joke...

I drove by the Mountain yesterday and I have to say, Superman is much more striking from a distance than it was before. The gray steel was a bit bland, and blended in, now it stands out. I'm surprised they waited this long to make such a big change to Superman (not complaining). It looks great, and big thanks to those painters who had to go up there paint the behemoth!

Shot0097.bmp Ah hello Mr Heart! Something major now dominates the east side of the park! Shot0098.bmp Like the station? It took several months of desigining! Shot0100.bmp Zipper has been closed for most of the season due to construction...it should re-open very soon. Shot0101.bmp The plaza was altered a bit due to the entrance of Thunder Racer. Shot0102.bmp The Red six-seater train! Shot0103.bmp The blue six-seater train! Shot0104.bmp Here is the beginning pre-lift, it really builds up the anticipation! Shot0105.bmp The lift is absolutely huge! Shot0106.bmp The view from here is fantastic! Look at the double up, and double down! Shot0107.bmp Wow...that drop is....insane! Shot0108.bmp These hills will give you a floating sensation I believe you enthusiasts call "airtime". Shot0109.bmp One last look at the majestic station! Shot0110.bmp Lookat that ride! Its even taller than cloud wheel! Well, I have to go Mr. Heart, see you again soon when Thunder Racer opens! -
What are you thankful for...
SoCalCoasters replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The one thing that I am very thankful in this growing industry is Arrow Dynamics. Without their innovative ride I think the amusement industry would be very different today had they not exisited. With innovations such as the tubular steel rails for Matterhorn, Polymer Wheels for Matterhorn, The corkscrew for Corkscrew, interlocking loops for Loch Ness Monster and Orient Express, mega loopers RIP GASM, and the 4th Dimension roller coaster. X remains in my mind one of the single most crazy ride concepts ever designed and built. I am thankful for Arrow, and wish more rides like Tennesee Tornado would have been built, and concepts such as the Arrowbatic would have been built. -

Isn't it obvious! They are doing the one logical thing no one has mentioned! They must be turning the ride into an Aquatrax! Obviously they are removing the hill to add water effects! Duh! -

Mr. Heart! So good of you to join me! Why dont I give you a little update of how things are going. Shot0090.bmp Take a long look at this view, as the spiral slide is on its way out in a year or two. Shot0091.bmp There's the construction of our new attraction. We've been working with the company building the attraction since we first opened to make this possible. Shot0093.bmp Even though we're on the train, you still can't see much! Shot0094.bmp Also, you can see very little from Cloud Wheel. We're trying to keep this project under wraps! Shot0095.bmp There goes Little Lightning! Shot0096.bmp The train is about to depart! Well, the office calls Mr. Heart, I hope to see you next spring when the attraction opens! -

Mr. Heart! It is wonderful to see you here at this wonderful park again! I see you got my letter. Why don't we step into my office. All right. Let's get down to business. This year we've made some key changes to the park to prepare for our expansion over the next decade or so. We have been talking with different companies about building rides and attractions for Bell Gardens. One project, the oly one I cannot speak of, is currently under construction near the old location of the Zipper. Oh! No no no no, we didn't remove the Zipper, it was relocated to the left of its original location. Here are some of the concepts we've been been talking about. Thunder Racer: PTC, after making Little Lightning also gave us a concept for a set of racing roller coasters named Thunder Racer. It would be located near the zipper, and could possibly go over the train tracks. Santa Fe Falls:A high adventure log ride taking you through a forest, and ending with a thirty foot plunge! Legend Of the Mountain: An adventurous journey through a man made mountain. Super Swings: A chair swing attraction sitting on a small hill to give a sense of flight. Well thats all we have for now, but there are a few more classified projects I can;t tell anyone right now, but one will be revealed next year. Lets have a look around the park shall we? Shot0081.bmp There's the Zipper peeking out from its new location. I honestly think it looks better there. Shot0082.bmp There's the majestic Cloud Wheel. Such a fantastic ride. We had originally planned to install a normal ferris wheel, but then we were approached by Chance, with the Cloud Wheel. We thought this more thrilling version was a better fit to the park. Shot0083.bmp *Gasp* Zipper is not there! Shot0084.bmp But, it's here! Shot0085.bmp And here is the mysterious construction site for the new attraction opening in....two years. It's going to be our biggest inverstment ever, and if sucessful, will bring the park massive amounts of guests, and mounds of revenue! Shot0086.bmp In other news, both of Little Lightning's trains were coupled together, and now runs with one 16 passenger train! Shot0087.bmp There they go! Shot0088.bmp Oh and we can't forget about Fireball! Shot0089.bmp I just can't get over how well this ride turned out! We'll have to talk to Chance about future attractions! Well I have to go Mr. Heart, I hope to see you for the opening day for our 1972 attraction! -

Oh hello Mr. Heart, great to see you again at the start of a new and exciting season here at Bell Gardens! I see you are admiring our newest attraction, Cloud Wheel. Shot0073.bmp Ahhh, rides in the morning sun look so majestic. Shot0074.bmp Even with the sun rising, Zipper is still shrouded in darkness. Shot0075.bmp I'll never get tired of looking at this ride. Shot0076.bmp This ride is VERY tall when you get close to it! Shot0078.bmp Now that we're on Cloud Wheel, you can really see Little Lightning's layout. Shot0079.bmp I love the simplistic design of the station, it really compliments the ride nicely. Shot0080.bmp Looking out from the top of this ride make you feel like a bird! Well, I hope to see you again soon Mr. Heart, until then, good bye! -

Ah, Mr. Heart! It is so good to see you! It's been so long since we last talked! Well, I've been busy too, developing a new way for guests to have fun! Our new coaster, Little Lightning, opens today and I'm very excited you could make it! Shot0059.bmp Ahhh, this early morning southern California air sure is great! Shot0061.bmp There's the coaster! It looks fantastic in the early morning sun! Shot0063.bmp The coaster has two trains, each carrying 8 passengers, four per car. Have you ever walked the track of a wooden coaster before? You haven't? Well why don't I show you first hand? Shot0065.bmp Isn't it fantastic? Walking the track? You get to see your guests up close, and get some amazing views of the park! Shot0067.bmp There they go, around the U-turn! Shot0069.bmp There's the rest of the course. Isn't the view from the chain lift amazing? Shot0071.bmp Here they come! Well, I hope you enjoyed the backstage look at the ride! See you again soon Mr. Heart! -
Bond Gardens
SoCalCoasters replied to T-BONDIcoasterkid's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
First off: Change the name. Why? My newest park in RCT3 was started a mere day before your park. Bell Gardens, Bond Gardens. There is a three letter difference, no way is that accidental. The Mega-Lite: Extend It. Too small, and the layout is pretty bland. Take a look at some of the in-game Intamins for inspiration. The Impulse: It needs a station, Currently, it looks very tacky and out of place without one. Corkscrew: No Complaints here. Invert: Add texture to the sides of the trench, or turn it into a tunnel. Standup: Needs a station. I may sound harsh, but these are important tips to make better RCT3 parks. Overall, add foliage, and flat rides. Please, change the name. -

Oh, Mr. Heart! I'm glad to see you here. The park really has been thriving these first few months, and attendance is on the rise! Anyway, our new ride will open in about an hour, so why don't we hit the train? Shot0037.bmp The park is still looking great! Shot0039.bmp The train is here! Lets go for a ride! Shot0041.bmp That train sure is beautiful! Even for a scale model, it acts exactly like a real train. Shot0044.bmp Wow! I didn't realize how many people were down here today! Oh, it's lunch hour! That explains things. Shot0043.bmp Ahh, this is quite relaxing. I often do many of my office duties on the train in the late afternoons, it's quite a nice setting. Shot0047.bmp Ah, you see the new ride. Haha don't worry, the fence will come down in the next few minutes. But while we are waiting, why don't we ride Ring of Fire? Shot0051.bmp The begining isn't that intense.... Shot0048.bmp But this part can be quite terrifying! Shot0053.bmp Well here we are, they are begining to remove the fence! Shot0055.bmp Here it is! The Tea Party! It was so nice of Disney to design them for us, it was very cheep too! Shot0057.bmp Just look at that roof! Shot0058.bmp You get a good view of the train. Anyway, I must be getting back to my office work, it was nice to see you again! -
Hello, I am Alexander Knight, and I would like to welcome you to Bell Gardens. Oh! I see you saw this article in the paper! Well, thank you for checkng out the park! You are one of our first guests, why don't I show you around? Are you a thrill seeker? You are! Oh how wonderful, you will love our park's midway! Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself, why don't we get started on our tour? Shot0020.bmp Like our entrance? I helped design it myself! Quite a project! Shot0022.bmp Over there, those are the management offices. My office is in there, but I'm still moving in so I don't want to show it at the moment. Shot0024.bmp Oh, the train is on the route at the moment, It will be back in about ten minutes. Lets check out the ride midway while we wait shall we? Shot0025.bmp All our guest services are located under the train station, along with the food stalls! Quite an interesting design, but the whole team liked the idea of making this area seem like a true train station. Shot0026.bmp Hmm? Oh, that's our Merry-Go-Round! Were are very proud to say the horses are wooden, and were carved by local craftsmen. We wanted to keep local businesses up and running! Shot0027.bmp Hahaha I see you looking at our Zipper? Oh! It's your favorite ride? How wonderful! Now you can ride one close to home! Shot0029.bmp I love how well landscaped all these rides are! We took a long time planning out the process and it turned out to work in our favor! Shot0031.bmp Oh this? This is our star attraction, the Ring of Fire. To be honest, I'm a bit scared to ride it... Are you going to try it out? Oh hmmm oh why not? I'll give it a spin as well! Shot0035.bmp Well that was very fun! Quite an intense ride too! Did you like it? It was great? That's fantastic to hear! Shot0033.bmp What's behind the fence? Why future ride of course! I can't tell what it will be now, but it should be up and running in a month or two...Oh well look at the time, I simply must continue unpacking at my office. Oh! The train is back! Why don't you go have a ride. The scenery is fantastic. It was nice meeting you Mr....Heart. I hope to see you back here in the future! Well, good bye for now!

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
SoCalCoasters replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Don't forget, some kind of Tron roller coaster has been rumored to be in the works for Disneyland, and its just like Disney to plan that far in advance... Hmmm I honestly don't ever expect another new coaster at USH, unless they remove Mummy, which I doubt they will for a long time. SFDK....heck yes! I'd love to see a MACK launched coaster here! Would fill the park's thrill quota VERY nicely... Knott's may be setting the stage for a big 12' project so they are a worthy suspect...some kind a dynamite western theme perhaps? Sea World...I seriously from the bottom of my heart wish this way true, but long as Dona Frey is on city council, don't expect anything major from Sea World...can some PLEASE replace her? -
^^ But just as I predicted a few months back, one was announced. It's really a cost-per-thrill type situation. Small cost, big thrills. Plus since Intamin is already rehabing Superman for them, they might have gotten a good deal on it. The ride I can see them putting in for 2012 is something most likely from Intamin. If it is from Intamin, I'm guessing either a Mega-Lite, Blitz, or Vertical Lift. If it's from B&M, I'm guessing Hyper Coaster. If it's from S&S, Combo Tower, or some kind of tower attraction. Those are the only manufacturers I can see them going to currently...I doubt Vekoma because of the Deja-Vu Fiascos they had with them but...you never know.
-
Yeah, we were there on a day with a ton of small children, followed by a very large group of mentally challenged kids. The rides ops had to stop it every time because someone would want to get off of it...it also killed the ride's capacity, most likely cutting it in half, making the wait about 45 minutes when we went to leave... It is a great park, all they need to do is replace Pacific Plunge with a better drop tower and they're set. Like I said in another forum, the world needs more S&S Double Shots!

BELMONT PARK Every since I heard the park go bankrupt, I've been needing to get to Belmont and I was able to make a trip to it yesterday. It is the off season right now so most rides were a one cycle wait. The park was by no means deserted, and there was quite a line for the High Ropes Course, Blacklight Golf, Vault Laser Maze, and the Mirror Maze, all of which were up-charge attractions. So Belmont is still a very popular attraction, don't get the idea that they were going bankrupt from loss of guests. Altogether the trip was a very pleasant surprise. Because of one thing: CONTROL FREAK WAS OPEN! Yes, that Moser Prototype was behaving and I was able to get four rides in on it. Contrary to popular belief, the ride is not an up-charge. The ride works quite simply. There a three buttons on your grab bar. Two on the right, one on the left. The two on the right control the ride arm's rotation, forward, or backward. The button on the left holds the car in place, allowing you to set the car up for some amazing flips. Some how I managed, while sitting still, to flip fives times. This is one of the best compact attractions I have ever seen. More parks need these. I talked with the ride operators who told me the ride is open for good now, but still suffers from major downtime. But less talk, more video: Car #1 provided a much more intense ride than car two because the brakes were off. The second car had the brakes too tight, and it inhibited spinning quite a bit. Altogether, I have to give this ride a great score. Control Freak: 9/10 If the second car had been the same as the first it would have been 10/10. The Tilt-A-Whirl has already been moved into its new spot (Chaos's old location)and was testing all day when we were there. Chaos is gone, and Octotron construction is well under way. Beach Blaster is still my favorite ride at Belmont because of it's location. It's a very strange feeling looking staight down it the people below you. Still a great ride and very fun at night. Beach Blaster: 8/10 Tsk Tsk rides operators were very slow. I also managed to get a few rides on the Dipper in. I'm not going to post my POVs from YouTube because they are bad...if you really want to see them, go through the link next to my avatar... Giant Dipper: 7/10 The front was starting to get a bit rough, though the back is still pretty good. Overall Park: 8/10 Great Park, still very popular, but fix Control Freak's second car, get Octotron open as well as the Tilt-A-Whirl, they'll have a winner on their hands. I will be returning to Belmont in December for the opening of Octotron, so expect opening day videos. -SoCalCoasters

Belmont Park in jeopardy?
SoCalCoasters replied to Sidra's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry to double post but... Belmont is still open! And guess what else was? I talked with several of the ride operators, and they said Control Freak is open for good now, but still is having problems. Oh another thing, contrary to belief, this ride is not an upcharge as previously expected. The Tilt-a-Whirl was already testing in it's new location, which it fits very nicely into by the way. -
So Eagel's Fortress isn't good because it's old? Both Giant Dippers which have been around for over 80 years are not good? The Matterhorn isn't good? Thunder Mountain isn't good? Loch Ness Monster isn't good? Ninja isn't good? Montezoom'a Revenge isn't good? Hmmm? Don't judge a coaster by it's age, since Eagel's Fortress was rated #1 in the world for years! And it was built in early 90's.
