[RCT3] Cheetah Hunt
SoCalCoasters replied to coasterfreak96's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^He's using the Eurpoa Addon's Custom Track Set for a more versatile layout. 200 pieces vs 5000 pieces. -
^I think that may be one thing that sets them apart in terms of realism is the amount of glitches you see in a park like that. RCT3 doesn't have problems where a car will suddenly disappear when it's on a hacked track segment it wasn't animated for. Yes, RCT3 usually has more sets from more creators and there's more options. You can also minimize the large icons in RCT3 so you can navigate through the stuff easier so finding stuff isn't a huge issue.

[RCT 3]Hero World
SoCalCoasters replied to CoasterB's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Looking pretty cool so far, however I'd recommend renaming a Peep David Walsh then pressing ctrl + U to remove the menu from your shots. it makes a world of a difference. -
^I believe the reason the ride ops can't flip it is because they have to "be a trained mechanic" or some kind of certification they need in order to conform to safety standards. And as a result, only mechanics are permitted to enter the ride area a right the vehicles. They used to always have someone sitting there, but after the opening crowds died down I guess they stopped doing it...

Dark Knight Massacre
SoCalCoasters replied to MayTheGForceBeWithYou's topic in Random, Random, Random
I heard about this after I got out of my Midnight Showing last night...it's such a terrible incident, and I can't believe anyone would do such a horrible thing... 12 people killed and 40 wounded? It's despicable. The guy who did this deserves the maximum punishment of the law... -
I stayed up as well however I'm a little dissapointed by the soundtrack, I'm sure it fits in the movie perfect, I was expecting much more from Hans Zimmer. I much prefer the Dark Knight soundtrack. -- James I agree. It fits into the movie perfectly, but falls a little short to people on its own because of how specifically it's crafted. Also, everyone needs to read this: there was a mass shooting at a midnight screening of Dark Knight Rises....12 people dead as of now. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57476379/mass-shooting-at-batman-showing-in-denver-suburb-aurora-colorado/ my thoughts and prayers go out to all those who were killed....this is such a horrible incident...

[RCT3] Colorado Canyon

Quality > Quantity It's a simple as that. The reason people probably aren't commenting is because there's nothing really that interesting. It just feels like the same ho-hum thing every time. Make your park more detailed, because it's the details that people really love. -
Just got the new sound Track for Dark Knight Rises....absolutely stunning. Currently I'm listening to one of the best songs on it: Gotham's Reckoning.
-
^Just stayed up till midnight getting the soundtrack.....OH...MY...GOD. Hans Zimmer....is a freaking genius. This has to be one of the best movie soundtracks of all time. I am absolutely blown away by it.

Just got my tickets for a midnight showing of Dark Knight rises at the Cinèpolis Luxury theater chain that's here in SoCal. Definitely going to be an epic event, can't wait.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
SoCalCoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I think the Cult-Classic example you used actually fits Disaster Transport quite well. I only rode the ride once, but all this discussion has brought back a little bit of what I remember from riding it. It was one of those things you rode and went: Huh, that was kinda cool. Let's go ride Maverick! Filler, but nice filler. If the ride's expiration date has arrived and the ride is no longer a valued asset (Wildcat) then let it ascend to coaster heaven. -
Lynx 2.0(RCT2) NCSO
SoCalCoasters replied to the ghost's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It's baaaaaack! I'm glad you finally found the time to bring this project back! To this day, Lynx is still one of my favorite RCT2 woodie layouts ever. It'll be really cool to see this progress. -
I'll be honest in saying this... While you may not like the way the current SFMM manager is running the park, don't you think a nickname like that is only going to make her like enthusiasts less? Since a lot of parks do browse TPR, I wouldn't want to be a manager and find out that I had a nickname alluding to the fact that I may not interact with the guests as much as the former manager did. You wonder why she may not interact with guests as much? Everyone has a different way of running a park, and you really don't have the right to judge this manager based on one small aspect.. Maybe social interaction isn't her strongest suit? Maybe she's spending more time focusing on attraction development? I don't know, but I honestly think you're crossing a line with a nickname like that. I hope you understand my reasoning here. You can state your opinion without having to be rude and mocking. Jay Thomas left Magic Mountain to focus on another area of the company that needed work, corporate. Can you honestly tell me you think the park has significantly gone downhill with her at the helm? Superman's redo, Green Lantern/Rennovation of Gotham into DC, Roadrunner Express (while Jay may have had a hand in these, they still debuted during her time) as well as Lex Luthor, the removal of the eyesore defunct Sky Sling with a possible replacement Starflyer and a new launched coaster on the horizon? Sure, Log Jammer and Deja-Vu got the boot, but these were rides that probably gave the maintanence staff headaches on a daily basis, and didn't have any lasting effect on crowds. I really don't think you're looking at this properly. Yes, after this is posted I may have comments firing back purporting that I'm a "stupid kid and I apparently am too young to understand what it takes to run these parks etc.", but I know that to a manage a business of this kind, it takes a heck of a lot more time than your average 9-5, five days a week job. Don't take this a personal attack, but just sort of as a general statement to everyone trashing the parks at this point. Some criticism is good for the parks, but when every move they make gets bashed by enthusiasts, it gets ridiculous. Hope my opinion on this is understandable. EDIT: Please, please, please don't turn this into a giant argument. I would appreciate it if responses were civil.

That's funny. I remember being there that summer or the summer after...They had to close the ride because someone had gotten heat exhaustion/heat stroke at the top. -

Did Brandon finally release his CTR? Or are you testing it for him? No I haven't finished the CTR yet, that is Techno_Dude's B&M 2 Seater. Oh derp. I see it now going back through the video. Guess I got a little over excited when I saw a car that looked like V-Bolt's and didn't take a closer look. I can't wait till you release yours though, especially with how amazing they looked. While I don't have anything to show for it yet, I am currently planning a collaboration with someone who I have wanted to work with for a long time. I don't want to spoil the fun and spill the beans on the project yet, but I can tell you to look out for it starting later this summer. -

^Nystery Tower does that. All the cars face each other. It has a longer program, but it's the closest thing to your idea. -

Last time I went to Lakeside was three or four years ago...it's sad that the park has gone down in quality a bit since then. If I recall correctly...isn't Zoom the newest attraction at the park? That ride has a special place in my heart as it was ,y first drop tower.
