The Official iPhone Discussion thread
SoCalCoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
What does everyone think of iOS 6? I'm downloading it for my iPad right now. I'm looking forward to seeing what exactly has been improved. -
I do think that theming, in any situation can make a ride better. Even though I disliked Green Lantern as a ride, I had to give Six Flags props for some pretty cool theming in the queue, as well as the re-theming of the Gotham area. Theming, even of it is minor, can make a ride/park experience better. iI's expensive though. The issues becomes whether or not the theming will be cost effective for the park in the long run.

Yay! About time we had an RCT3 challenge! one question: can we add a station and or a tunnel to the wooden coasters, or does that fall under the modification category? -

If you never receive criticism, then you'll never improve. Like I've said before, you don't need a clique, or un-original story for your park. Here's the silly format people always do: Family Run Park > Bought Out By Chain > Bought Out By Another Chain > etc. You may not be the best player, but that doesn't mean you can't try to improve. Take the advice people give rather than disregarding it with an excuse. In all honesty, you'd probably enjoy putting a bit more detail into each attraction rather than sticking in a hodgepodge rides just so you can update it. It doesn't need a story. What it needs is more attention to detail. it won't take any longer than usual, but if you make the park look ascetically nicer and varied, people will enjoy looking at it more. That doesn't mean you have to become a slave to the community, it just means people would appreciate it if you put your own creativity into play rather than combining a bunch of elements for pre-existing brands. Sure, people can pull it off well, but not right off the bat. -SCC -
My friend bought me Portal 2 this weekend. I'm already 6 hours into the story and 2 hours into the Co-Op and I've been having a total blast. The game really is a fantastic achievement.

That's a seriously cool meet and greet, although you have to wonder just how much money they spent on this...those animatronics look amazingly realistic...seeing as how Mermaid's price of 100 million were rumored to have mainly gone towards the ride animatronics...I shudder to imagine what the final bill for this attraction might be! I really do like the concept though. it'll be interesting to see if the new Fantasy Faire area at Disneyland will use a similar concept, or continue the traditional meet and greet style system?

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
SoCalCoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Legoland CA has a Star Wars Miniland as well as a Star Wars weekend event once a year with Disneyland 45 min up the road. I assume a similar situation will happen here. -
Just got my brand new Asus Gamer Series Laptop. i7 processor, 16 gigs of ram and a ridiculously high powered graphics card. Can't wait to try this sucker out!

Let's say that a logical solution to a problem is a straight line from point A to point B. A politician's line would look like the fiendish scribbles of a young toddler intent on mischievously ruining something. Long, drawn out, non sensible, and done without conceivable reason. And that is the reason why I hate politics. No one knows how to draw a straight line.
