  3. Enthusiasts have very high expectations for parks, and when a corporate chain like SFI runs a park, there's a balancing art between money going to the parks and money going to the stockholders. SFMM most likely has an immense thrill ride budget because they practically have a guaranteed return. Categories such as ride maintenance, landscaping, and park maintenance are given small budgets because they won't be seeing a return profit from them. It's a business of money. That being said however, people don't seem to realize that SFMM is a completely different park than it was a decade ago. It's changed for the better too. When I was younger, my parents, like many others, refused to let me go to the park due to the huge amount of gang activity. Heck, you would be scared to walk around the park at night. I remember seeing videos of gang riots at SFMM on the News. It was probably one of the factors that led to it being put up for sale during the SFI Bankruptcy. That issue has been solved, and the park is 1000x better as a result. Personally all the stuff about Full_Throttle (sorry, it's not YOLOcoaster to me) can be put to rest with the simple fact of $$$$. SFMM had a ride budget, most likely given to them by the corporate office with guidelines. They went to Premier, who designed them FT.It has a decent length for a layout. It's not like they built Stealth or Kingda Ka, which are one trick ponies.
  4. I'm going to be at Holiday in the Park on the 28th if anyone was interested in meeting up. I hope the weather stays civil long enough for me to get my Superman credit that I've been waiting to get for quite a while!
  5. Didn't ARM recently announce some kind of Swing ride that was capable of 360° motion? Fully inverted one of those could probably meet the current hints.

  8. So the Steam Winter Sale has begun and my friend got me a copy of Assassin's Creed II. That was Wednesday Night... And somehow I've already logged 18 hours into the game! The franchise reminds me of a more Mature version of Legend of Zelda. A LOT. I can definitely see that Ubisoft took a lot of the things that worked well in Zelda and perfected them in Assassin's Creed.

  11. ^Nah. I mean, if they completely replace the track with the more modern Vekoma system, then it really is brand new. However I don't think it's as big of a replacement as Space Mountain was, as a lot of BTMRR's infrastructure and support work appears to be remaining unchanged.

  13. While I'm sure the ride's rock work won't be changed, they could theoretically add more or change some in such a large time table. By new layout, they mean the track layout is being cloned with the Vekoma system, much like with Space Mountan; it has a nearly identical layout, but has an upgraded capacity, track, cars, and electronics. We know Disney can move pretty fast with taking stuff out when they want to. Look at the demolition of the Skyride. Literally there one day and completely gone the next. I would not be surprised if we see evidence track removal within a week or two of it closing. Heck, they'll probably take the trains off the track the day after it closes.
  14. That's because they've installed trims at the top of that hill to slow the car at the approach to the MCBR. Edit: VV You sure? There's a significant slowing right at the apex of the slope leading into the turnaround, along with what looks like the trims seen on other wooden coasters. You used to go flying around the turnaround, but now you just coast through it.
  15. Um, Six Flags already owned the coaster, so other chains probably didn't order them sooner.... In that respect I was referring to the overall chain, not just SFSL. You obviously are not willing to understand the point I'm conveying, so I won't continue to try.

Then I assume you could accurately tell me the precise amount of time it takes a small crew of individuals to paint dozens of pieces of supports and track, along with presumably a host of other items that could take precedence? And also tell me how long it would take to get a fleet of trucks organized to transport the pieces to St. Louis? And all while there's more than a dozen other parks with projects just as complex? There's a heck of a lot of variables involved in such a huge cooperate process. Yes, other chains may have many of their additions already partially installed, but they also could have ordered them sooner. Like I said before, I'm not defending SFI, I'm just pointing out the fact that people far too quickly jump on the Blame Train and bashing the chain. No chain deserves bashing.
  17. Because they are excellent planners! [sarcasm] People can be excellent critics, but often can't perform the task better than who they are critiquing. SF has an entire chain of parks to manage, and the bigger projects take precedence. They are good planners. It takes good planners to manage multimillion dollar additions to more than half a dozen seasonally operating theme parks across North America. There's always going to be delays and problems. I think people jump on the critiquing bandwagon too quickly, and never think about "why did this occur?". Boomerang isn't in St, Louis yet because it's still being painted out in Texas. I'm sure it will soon be on its way. Construction can begin later for a Boomerang than something like Iron Rattler because it requires far less intense construction work. If people bring up SFMM and GL and Lex, it's the same complaints. SFMM is a full year round park, and their return investment can last though the fall and winter, more than the East Coast parks. A while back it was mentioned that SFI has an engineering team that oversees the constructions of the chain's attractions. If that is true, they'd go to SFMM last, because they have a larger return window. It could also be that Intamin didn't finish Manufacturing the track in the original timeline, or it was delayed en route to the park. We simply don't know. I'm not praising SFI, I'm saying that people shouldn't bash them for attraction installation, possibly for reasons out of their control.
  18. The most logical guess to me at least would be Mild Thing as it fits the park, and is quite fun for a small size, but I could be wrong. Guess I'll have to wait and find out.
  19. You mean the coaster track that's already installed in the show building wasn't real enough? I was speaking in regard to the theme of the ride. I know Premier track has already been installed in the building. v I did. But even though I edited it with better wording, the other posts still remain.
  20. If they are bringing back Bellatrix for this "film piece", I think it's a very strong piece of evidence suggesting that the theme of the new Premier Coaster going I to Wizarding World 2.0 is Gingotts themed.
  21. Not necessarily. Boomerangs are not huge rides, and can be assembled rather quickly. I think we'll see it open in the timeframe they assigned.

  23. Perhaps through the use of Polyurethane Wheels and Sand Filled Supports they could build an invert somewhere... Even if they can't I'm sure they have other plans just as interesting.
