  1. I agree with mostly everybody. I just get a cup of water/soda and some peanuts onflight, and bring a sandwhich and peanut butter crackers.
  2. ...And I thought visiting five parks in one year was overkill! Man, I sure wish I was at Alton Towers right now...great photos though!
  3. I hate these things! Has anybody done the 'Colorblind Test' thing? That scared the crap out of me!
  4. Magic Springs. I know I'm being totally biased because it is my home park, but it does have a fairly interesting history. The park started as just a small family fun park in the late 70's with a few rides, some slides, and family shows. It attracted a few people in the Hot Springs area, but it was pretty much unknown (unlike its earlier neighbor Dogpatch USA.) The park began to grow throughout the 80's. It gained the Arkansas Twister from the old Busch park "Boardwalk and Baseball." and the launched Arrow looper Roaring Tornado (now at SFEG) as its major roller coasters. The park had become relatively successful. But then in the 90's the park began losing money, and soon fell into disrepair. The city turned off the water, and closed the park in 1995. The rides weren't looking good, buildings and ride stations were rotting, control panels were horribly outdated, and the place began to get overgrown with weeds. Then! Ed Hart of Theme Parks LLC arrived. He purchased the park in an auction. His group tore down/sold most of the rides, and repaired others (the carousel, Arkansas Twister, and log flume). They also added Crystal Falls water park, and the park reopened in 2000. Recently, the park attendance topped 400,000 with the addition of The Gauntlet, and they are getting X-Coaster, a close-to one of a kind ride for 2006, and they own several acres to expand upon. So I'd say they did a good job! Wow, I didn't mean to give the whole history! But I think it is one of the Most Improved parks in the last decade or so.
  5. Meh, most of the radio here is Christian radio, Country, or "mix" stations, and the classic rock has too many commercials. But, the new rock station, 100.3 The Edge, is decent. Edit: I don't even know if we have an Alternative station.
  6. Just for fun, I'm working on a stencil/painting of Gir from Invader Zim. I made some stencils out of a picture of him which I will use to paint several layers. I just finished rolling on the first layer: Edit: 800th post! The first layer is done! The rolling is almost complete My materials. The picture I'm painting on. I would've taken pictures of the stencil-cutting process, but I didn't think about it until later!
  7. Happy birthday DeliriumTrigger, djmj, gnomey, pixelated, rebecky, scruffy, toniokatun and towerhill! ...oh, and some mod who likes to wear donkey hats.
  8. God Save the Queen - Sex Pistols
  9. ^ And much more from the "Sun Wheel" at DCA.
  10. Dirty Harry - Gorillaz Amazing song.
  11. You could try the Discovery Store (The Travel Channel is part of the Discovery network): http://shopping.discovery.com/ If that or, as you said, eBay doesn't work, there's always amazon.com.
  12. Klaatu909 is the lucky #10,000!
  13. ^ Unless you have Aboriginal roots, then I think that would count as pure Australian origin.
  14. ^ Depends on what you want to do. If you just want to run in, get the credits, and run out it should take less than an hour. So I'd say half-day if you want to do more then just that. BTW, if you'd like a better idea of the rides at Magic Springs I have some POVs up here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23755
  15. I'm about 80% Irish, not sure what the other 20% is though.
  16. Well...first of all, neither of the games are very realistic, they are more like caricatures of real theme parks. They are made so that anybody can play without requiring that we have knowledge on the true physics of building roller coasters or business ethics of running a theme park. That's why we have No Limits, it's a simulator, not a game. Both games have their pros and cons, but I'm going to have to agree with CR_RULES. RCT3 is more realistic, and RCT2 gives you more control.
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. Movie Night! Everytime I go to my dad's house we rent a bunch of movies. This time we rented Ed Wood, Lost in Translation, Jarhead, and Memoirs of a Geisha. Ed Wood was my favorite. It's the humorous, and true, story of the "worst director ever" who befriended Bela Lagoski (Dracula!) and wore women's clothes. Ed was played by Johnny Depp and the movie was directed by Tim Burton. Lost in Translation was good too. I loved the shots of Tokyo, and Bill Murray's improvising during the whiskey photo shoots. Jarhead...meh, I'm not a big fan of war movies, and this didn't seem very much different from other war movies I've seen. I'm going to watch "Memoirs" tonight!
  19. You can find all the song names for Robb and Elissa's videos here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=323
  20. Cool, sorta reminds me of the abandonded 'Port Disney' project. Can't wait to see more!
  21. ^ Yeah, some do 'Work in Progress'es. While I've seen some where they were just having trouble uploading the DL, or they've abondonded their park/track before it was completed. This reminds me, I have to get off my lazy arse and complete my Disney park.
  22. Just added Magic Springs's opening day.
