About two years ago I was OBSESSED with anime. Not just Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, but I was already downloading One Piece and Naruto with subtitles (the japanese versions of both are about a thousand times better than the english, btw.) I still own my good anime/manga (Akira, Spirited Away, Endless Waltz, Samurai X, etc.) but I'm not nearly as into it as before. And it's hard to get my friends to take good anime seriously. They always associate "japanimation" with big heads, sweat drops, crazy facial expressions, etc. when these stories are just as complex and intriuging as (or sometimes better than) live action movies. I came up with two that sort of fit the topic because they are not really "big attractions." I'll try to come up with something better later. I just have a Knotts Berry Farm shirt with Snoopy that says "Joe Coaster". Silver Bullet is reflected in his sunglasses. I 'model' this piece of attire in my Knotts Khristmas video, but now I only use it as a sleeping shirt because it is too wide, (I've gotten skinnier) and grey (blech.).

I'm actually not afraid of ferris wheels, but the swinging cars on DCA's ferris wheel absolutely scared the crap out of me. It looked like we were going to fall into the big lagoon! I've got some hilarious photos of my little brother holding on for dear life on this ride! (and he suggested that we ride it!)

Eh, the General Public seems to really like coasters with gimmicks. They may not be able to really tell if there is any airtime, but they can see a huge loop or a 400 mph launch. I think us, as enthusiasts, grow easily bored with the gimmicks, and base our opinions on the entire ride, not just the fancy elements thrown in. Just my opinion.
