  1. Your comment may sound flippant, but it's actually quite true. SFMM should have stuck with X2. A ride with "free spinning seats" should never have been added to a park that can't even figure out how to run a looping coaster the way it was designed to ride with comfortable lap bars, even though other parks with similar rides have done so for years. SFMM always makes excuses for their own inept decisions, and unfortunately we suffer for it. But I'm sure they'll find a way to blame Intamin.
  2. Why then don't they have Intamin correct the problem so this is not an issue? If Insane is the same ride and flips a lot more than this one, why then does it not have this issue with cars not righting themselves at the end- there's gotta be some reason? This is really stupid- and I hope they are at least looking at a solution that allows the ride to run properly, otherwise it's just a giant waste of space. "Avoid inversions"- isn't that a total contradiction of the point and design of this ride? ^ It is. Except the GP doesn't know it's called a Zac-Spin. As far as they're concerned, it could be some new form of zig zag drop ride. However, those in charge of making the decision to bring this ride to SFMM have got to know this wasn't the idea. Sad.
  3. ^ I just hope Lex isn't over braked at some point because a few guests complain it's too extreme! lol
  4. I REALLY wish Green Lantern had gone to another park in the chain and we would have gotten a Sky Screamer instead. It's a completely useless ride as they plan on running it. Eh, whatever. The good news is none of us have to wait for it any more! Once the Superman/Lex combo opens, I'll forget it's even there. Ironically, I wish the park would adopt the "avoid inversions" mantra when considering future rides!
  5. It was also said that the trains are getting near the end of their life-cycle, and at that point they may be looking at making changes. When it makes financial sense for the park to relaunch Revolution (and only then), I think we may finally see some ride improvements. I hope they are at least keeping an eye on what is happening at Hershey Park, and perhaps having a few conversations with Premier Rides as well. "Keep your head back"!
  6. I don't why people spend so much time trying to theorize about why the restraints were placed on Revolution. At this point who cares? The fact is they are there, and SFMM doesn't owe anyone an explanation as to why they were added as opposed to other rides of it's type. I don't care why they are there, I just hope one day real soon they won't be and Revolution can once again be the great ride it was intended to be. Trying to prove whether they were added excessively or not isn't going to magically make them disappear.
  7. ^ I hate to say this, but it seems it depends on who we get stuck with in "key" management positions. From 2007-2010 I actually preferred SFMM to Knotts because there was some care and creativity in terms of the top management. It was a slow transition, but you could actually see it. The current "people in charge" seem indifferent to small things that make a park great, and have gone back to what I call the "Michael Bay" way of running SFMM. Big, bombastic rollercoasters and thrill rides, while milking any charm and character the park has left. I really wish we could switch staffs with Great Adventure. Instead of the stupid ride rotation crap, how about management rotation until we find the right fit.
  8. Just to offer a bit of balance to the conversation (although I agree with the overall perception), the park has made a few positive moves recently. 1) Removal of the rotting Thrillshot 2) Great operations at X2 (it seems they've finally gotten it right). 3) Finally adding a thrilling "NON" coaster ride to the park. 4) DC Universe. 5) The park still looks clean ( I know Neal Thurman still walking around picking up leaves and trash). Just thought I'd throw a few things out there.
  9. While I did like the Sky Tower museum, and thought it was a nice touch, I'm not sure I will miss it as much as others will. I could hardly ever manage to catch it open, and it always felt half done, like an after thought. I felt like the employee who's idea it was deserved a better effort by the park. As for the park itself, I agree it is slipping backwards at an alarming rate. It's like they couldn't wait for Mark and Jay to go, so they could go back to building mega-coasters and treating guests like money bags. I'm hoping it doesn't continue...
  10. Wow...this park can't buy good press right now. Better announce Full Throttle soon...
  11. ^ Seriously, the way this ride is run makes it perhaps the worst steel coaster I've ever been on. I will never ride it again.
  12. Exactly. It wound up on Screamscape anyway, which we could have predicted.
  13. I think most of the area will be filled with water?
  14. Ugh...more inversions...and...more inversions. I swear this park is obsessed with them.
  15. Wow, you guys made it that far? I couldn't get past the first few seconds. There is just nothing to see yet. And no offense, but the guy isn't interesting to listen to imo.
  16. To me, Cedar Point never really lost the "title" to begin with. They had it first, and they had it when it mattered. The End.
  17. I'm more interested in the quality of attractions going into both parks next year. Whether CP is ahead by one or they are tied, is really less interesting to me than it used to be. Besides as we all know by now, all it takes is one park taking a year off for the other the swoop in and take the title back. It's just kind of a boring thing to worry about.
  18. ^ Tim did tell a group of us at WCB that the ride would most likely open late spring, which I took to mean early June. There's really no rush here IMO. Unlike most parks, SFMM seems to open up major new attractions almost every year.
  19. ^ Well that depends on when they plan on opening it. Most parks shoot for late May/early June to open new attractions now for maximum guest spikes around that time. They still have plenty of time to make that time period. I agree that an earlier start allows for unforseen problems, but my guess is the Lex construction sounds more complicated than it's actually going to be. It may be going on the side of Superman, but it's still just a drop tower/flat ride.
  20. I'm starting to wonder if plans for Pandermonium have changed...
  21. I can't wait until we can actually start talking about new rides again...
