  1. After visiting the park yesterday, I would encourage anyone with doubt to actually get out to the park and experience the changes "in person". It is without a doubt, awesome. There's only so much you can get from the internet.
  2. Haha...which probably means Drop Of Doom will open a week or two later as well. I'm not sure why they wouldn't choose this date to begin with, just to be on the safe side. I can't be disappointed as I saw this coming as soon as the 22nd date was announced. lol
  3. I don't get out to Disney very often. For me an E-ticket is a signature attraction in both popularity and scale. Personally for me it's a ride that I would plan a trip to the resort around. Carsland fits the bill on all fronts IMO.
  4. I'm just glad I have a reason to go back to DCA. I've always loved the place anyway, so this is all icing for me.
  5. The only source I need is common sense. There is no way the park is unaware of what is going on with their brand new ride.
  6. Wow, this thing is amazing...holy moly. I don't even want to imagine the crowds for this.
  7. I think we've deduced our answer to the never ending Revolution obsession. We will most likely see changes to ride when it comes time to buy new trains. Until then, we might as well drop it.
  8. ^ LOL I don't either. This is all guessing on my part.
  9. ^ I'm thinking your second answer is the correct one. It sounds like the park doesn't want to change anything about the ride itself, but rather will make adjustments to keep the lap bars in place for the duration of the ride.
  10. From Screamscape: 2012 - Skyrush - (6/11/12) According to a reader who visited Hersheypark, they too found the restraints on SkyRush a little painful on the legs. After the ride, they spoke with park reps about it and were told that Hersheypark had investigated the restraint system used on I305, but have decided to stick with a lapbar system. However… they also claimed that an Intamin rep had been out at the park over the past week to check on the ride and look into this issue, as they do not want to trim the ride’s speed. From what I’m led to understand, they believe that the lap bars can be adjusted to solve the problem, so lets look for this to happen later on this season. Hopefully this happens do we can all move on and enjoy this coaster as the future top 5 steel coaster it is!
  11. Great Pictures! Thanks! I really love that park. Did I miss Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast?
  12. I agree with you. It's not like SFMM can just say, "wow those new trains at Hershey really turned out well, let's go shopping". A proposal would have to be put together that explains to cooperate how this would make the company revenue, why said trains are needed, and then they would still have to wait in line until it's their turn again for such an investment. I work for a company where we have to go through similar channels to get anything done. If there is a plan out there to restore Revolution, who knows what the time table is. I would bet though that Colossus is the bigger priority simply because the possibility of what can be done with that ride sounds far more marketable on paper.
  13. ^ Good point. Also a pass holder preview of DOD two days before the ride opens to the public isn't really BIG news, not to mention risky, considering the ride hasn't even tested yet. I'm not sure what to think at this point. lol
  14. ^ I think you're right. I think the coaster announcement will come in July.
  15. Tell that to Silver Dollar City. Really, I think that it is best for amusement parks to wait until August/September to announce because what would happen is people would not go to the park knowing there is a new attraction for next year. Since this will be a large attraction (speculated), this will probably be on the LA news right after the announcement thus announcing to many people. Normally I'd agree with this, if the park weren't about to open a headline grabbing 400ft drop tower.
  16. From what I've heard as well, the coaster announcement will be earlier than usual this year as this will be a massive project. At WCB, I tried to get Tim and Neal to drop some hints about it and he did say we'll all know sooner than later.
  17. I like the idea of one long track on Colossus. It could give them the space to make it a massive ride again, perhaps on the scale of a compact El Toro. If the project does happen, I can't wait to see what they do with it.
  18. ^ My apologies, I completely read that wrong. I need coffee!
  19. And you have proof that these people were wheeled away for the reason you state? Of course you don't.
  20. So any hints as to when they're going to announce this thing?
  21. So you want to neuter the coaster for comfort? I wouldn't exactly say it that way... But I will say that I would MUCH rather have the type of airtime on Cyclops where I can still enjoy comfort and the "I'm gonna fly out" thrill over the "my eyes are going to rip out of the top of my head" - while being stapled, feeling. But that's not the type of coaster Skyrush is. It's a balls to the wall thrill ride, that has intense forces. Not every ride is going to be suited to your personal tastes. I'm happy to finally have a ride like this in the US!
  22. SFMM did some terrific marketing last year and finally got that "the park is closing" monkey off it's back.
