  1. Agreed. I know the knee jerk move is to search for ways to blame SF, but this way very well handled, even from a PR stand point. It's a freak occurrence. It's quite possible no one is to blame.
  2. I love it too, haha. It looks so tame from the ground, and then it just does with you what it will, and then dumps you like bad milk. I get why people hate it, but I think it's terrific.
  3. Yeah I was thinking July of next year as well. August seems an odd month to close a ride that would be closed nearly two years. Then again it's SFMM so who knows.
  4. Okay, Goliath looks amazing, but this thing looks like one of the best coasters on the planet!
  5. All this talk about what Colossus would/should be and quite frankly, I'd take something like Medusa or Goliath and call it a day
  6. . Yeah, I never believed that one... lol I didn't believe it either. Though, I'm starting to hear wild speculation, such as the one about combining both tracks of Colossus which would make it the longest coaster in the world, when honestly, I doubt SFMM will do that. I would doubt it also, except the structure already allows for it, so it's not like building the longest coaster from scratch.
  7. The rumors that I have heard more than once support the rather incredible Screamscape one. One track, two lifts, longest coaster record.
  8. Being the highest earning Park in the chain for the third year in a row should mean something to them. It's a good accomplishment that should reflect itself in terms of upkeep, maintenance, service and attractions. I really wish Six Flags would take more pride in the park. Fanatically it's come such a long way since 2006. This should be the most kick ass park in the chain.
  9. I rather like SFMM to be honest, and I don't feel at all a shamed in that assertion. It can be a frustrating Park though, due to a lack of consistency and care for some of the smaller details I've been trained to notice. Those are things I just can't defend, nor will I try. But bottom line, I still enjoy the park in spite of everything. I can't wait to see what they do with Colossus. It's one project I hope they get right!
  10. To me this a non issue. I really could care less. If this brings him some joy in life, more power to him.
  11. Yeah sorry, I love Cedar Point, but if it's quality coasters I'm looking for, it's about 10th on my list.
  12. And that's exactly why I think it's a good idea. I know I'll be tempted to stop in there, where as before? Probably not.
  13. I rode it twice today. No roughness to be found. Terrific little ride.
  14. Is it really baffling that SFMM could have a great year? While their target demo is definitely teens, that old stereotype of young people not spending money is beyond outdated.
  15. I agree, especially with the alternatives under 300 ft, it doesn't sound as exciting. I'd rather a RMC or even a Morgan/Intamin hyper/mega lite ride.
  16. Option 2. Much easier to navigate on a mobile device. As someone else mentioned, I also like the larger cover picture that greets you. I like both, but I pick #2.
  17. ^^You know you bring up a great point. The position you're in when you hit those intense drops could cause a very uncomfortable ride. I get why people hate it. I've ridden it about 20 or so times since it opened, and have liked every one.
