  1. I enjoy GL, but I can't help but wonder if SFMM themselves dislike it. The ride was barely advertised after it opened, and feels ignored, like an annoying step child. It's a ride I could them shipping off to another park in a few years. It serves absolutely no purpose at a park like SFMM.
  2. Well the park looks great! On a side note, I can't help but wish there was one more tunnel on GS. It looks so majestic though. It's still looks so surreal that this coaster is actually opening at CGA.
  3. Unfortunately I hear that one has been neutered as well. Looks like I'll never ride one of these as they were intended.
  4. Yeah, I haven't seen a ride receive such a turn around in positive comments since... well, Superman backwards. lol
  5. A loop taller than Scream's lift hill? That's going to look stunning.
  6. Colossus. May it once again actually live up to it's name!
  7. Wish they could have squeezed in another airtime hill or two. But other than that, this looks great. Might even turn out to be a new favorite at the park!
  8. I grew up going to amusement parks. To me they were special because they were more accessible for my friends and I. Theme parks are awesome as well, but I have more fond memories tied to parks like Coney Island, Santa Cruz, SFMM, Knotts and Kennywood. I'm also one of those people who even at theme parks run straight for the coasters and little else. For me, this one isn't even close.
  9. This one is as close to a dead heat as you can get. Just a slight nudge towards IRat for me, because I prefer steel to wood, this one looks like it may dethrone Skyrush for me.
  10. Gatekeeper is certainly the more classy, majestic coaster. It's beautifully placed, and everything about it screams care and great planning. But sometimes I like my coasters down and dirty, and although the presentation is heavily flawed, I think. Full Throttle offers more of what I feel like riding right now.
  11. As enthusiasts we're lucky. There are ways around capacity issues. Otherwise I would probably never ride Xcelerator.
  12. And we have WCB, where you can probably ride it as many times as you want.
  13. I say bring on the backwards launch. The more forces they can squeeze out of this short layout, the better!
  14. Probably closes to what will really happen, and only for opening season. lol
  15. ^ When I took that SFMM survey last year when they asked what would you like to see in the tunnel, I put some sort of near miss dead end, forcing the car to reverse. We'll see what they come up with.
  16. ^ A few people feel that way. I like the idea of being shot back up the dive element. The hang time in the back should be amazing.
  17. Yeah what is it with California and short, average launch coasters?
  18. I dunno, I always thought they were slightly annoyed at the whole "TAKE THE TUNNEL" thing, when, if you remember, it was something THEY created! I do remember that. Awww, no fun...
  19. Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if SFMM themselves gives in to the YOLO silliness come WCB time.
  20. ^ Yeah those are interesting numbers for the wingriders. It will be interesting to see how Gatekeeper stacks up next year.
  21. Wow, there is going to be quite a bit of speed going over that turn and then the snap dive into the tunnel. If nothing else this is going to be a very forceful ride.
  22. I feel like the last 4-5 years this park has been trying to strike a weird balance between trying to please their core audience with thrill rides, while also making sure to add rides that give them a quicker return on investment ( Apocalypse, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor and now FT). It's a strategy that unfortunately seems to be working for them.
  23. I actually like the color scheme, and I didn't in the video. No stupid Magenta or lime mixed with red. Sometimes simple is better.
  24. were you able to get photo's? Sadly no, I didn't make it.
