  1. I'm surprised how much you liked Green Lantern. Because it is pretty universally bashed around here, mostly by male riders. I enjoy it too, and like you, have it in my top 3 rides at the park, along with Apocalypse and Full Throttle.
  2. Honestly, SFMM tried the family route, and it didn't work. They have found what works for them, and they are sticking to it. The family coaster is costing them little to nothing, and isn't really meant to do anything but give them something to advertise for the 2014 season to justify upgrading the area. . Next year you can bet another large coaster is coming.
  3. ^ That's easy. To maintain their coaster count lead.
  4. The park (SFMM) itself, I love. I like the location, the woodsy, desert feel, And I like the rides. I just wish the park weren't so cheaply managed. Now, in addition to them copping out on upkeep, they're also giving the shaft to their coaster projects. If you want to be known for coasters, fine. But they should be amongst the most spectacular in the world. And if you're going to let the rest of the park basically run itself, at least what you're known for should most times be in tip top shape.
  5. I like the idea of both sides being redone, one side steel and the other wood like Outlaw Run. It would be the only of its kind in the world. Unfortunately, it also sounds super expensive.
  6. Isn't the current Park management a direct graduate of the Del Holland/Gary Story school of running SFMM? There is your problem right there. That parks doesn't need any more insiders who think it's as wonderful as ever. It needs more outsiders who can clearly see the problems. I'd love to see what someone like Jack Falfas could do with the park.
  7. Haha... I had already assumed that the parking was $20. Perhaps because I've been to other parks in the chain that were already charging that amount.
  8. Yeah, I go to SFMM to ride the newest rides... The End. The park has been mediocre for so long that I have no illusions of anything else. Why should I waste my breath bitching about what's not going to change in my lifetime? And saying I'm never going back isn't hurting them either. They'll simply replace me with another thrill seeker. So I go once a year, get my great Park fix somewhere else, and get on with it.
  9. I want to see a large RMC at SFMM and a hyper mega-lite at Knotts.
  10. Yeah, I'll get on SFMM 's case about a lot of things, but a couple of coasters being down in December is not one of them
  11. I use my season pass to go to the good Six Flags parks like Fiesta Texas and Great Adventure. I go to SFMM once a year to get my pass, and collect the new credit. I know it costs money to fly to some of the better parks in the chain, but it's totally worth it!
  12. I'm not sure that accident on Texas Giant had anything to do with airtime though.
  13. I saw the track today heading up the ramp towards the 15/California.
  14. Still waiting for them to start overhauling troubled steel coasters.
  15. ^ maybe we're in the minority, but I agree with you. LL may be my overall favorite ride in the park. I LOVE the restraints, the long raise up to the top, the incredible view and the speed the ride builds on the way down. I pretty much planted myself on this ride during ERT.
  16. Simple solution to all of this... FIX GHOSTRIDER!!!
  17. Yikes! Just saw what the weather is going to be like in So-Cal next weekend. Dress lightly everyone!
  18. This one is my favorite announcement of the year.
  19. ^ Not only that, but there is nothing wrong with building a non traditional wooden coaster. You want traditional, go ride one. RMC is doing something different.
  20. I've been on all 3 Supermans, and the problem is they are so slow. Tatsu may not be perfect, but I really like the height on that ride.
