  1. Ah! The main penguins name is Puck, Robb!
  2. It was great seeing Robb and co. over at the media event today. I guess being frozen (heh) in rotation over at Unload wasn't too bad at all. Hope to see others on opening day tomorrow!
  3. Georgia Cyclone was way more painful to me when I rode it back in 08' I honestly still ride gwazi even though it's a punishment. I wouldn't ride Georgia Cyclone again.
  4. Believe me, I know it sounds odd. After all, this is my craziest/oddest experience while working in theme parks. I honestly think they were just highschool kids thinking they were funny. That's all. Theme parks DO attract the oddest characters, though.
  5. I honestly doubt you'll believe me because this sounds so stupid. Basically they wore wizard robes with giant X'd out Potter characters on it. Singing stuff along the line of. "There once was a F*** named Harry, no one give a S*** who he was". That's seriously the most laugh-out-loud moment of my employment at Universal.
  6. When guests try to wipe down the seats on water rides because they are wet. >.> Craziest one was when I worked at Universal on Dragon Challenge and a group of Anti-Potter Costplayers rode the ride and chanted anti-potter songs and stuff. It was very odd, but funny.
  7. When I worked at Universal, I would always volunteer to be the Test Rider at Dueling Dragons before we went up for the day. Now I do the same at JTA at Seaworld. Aside from those two attractions, I haven't done anything else.
  8. We have one of these in the Tampa area, or at least it's called JA BizTown here. It's def not on the largeness scale as they plan on doing it in Sentosa. My mom takes her third grade students to it all the time, and most of my silblings have been to it as well. Same concept. They all seemed to like it and it was very educational. I think this is a cool idea to expand it to other places.
  9. Hi there, I spent 3 hours cleaning our queue line at Dragons for these suits that didn't even come to our attraction. They WERE actually in the park though, and did visit toon landing, not rumor. Though, what they were here for? *shurgs*
  10. I honestly wouldn't expect it, but who knows. We're at the mercy at the techs. I'm being deployed over to Bluto's while the improvements are being done, so I sure hope it won't take long. Let me know when they start dueling them again and remove the potter theme! Thanks! You'll be the first to know!
  11. Hi guys, just letting you all know that if you are planning on visiting IOA in the next three weeks, there will be a downtime on Dragon's Challenge. The attraction will be down from Jan 11th to Jan 26th for improvement of the area. Heads up. /works there.
  12. Dragon Challenge's Chinese Fireball, since I work there. I totally preference it over that other one.
  13. Just to be aware, The WWOHP is "timeless", and places have been put near each other that aren't canon because the Ministry of Magic wanted Muggles to experience everything they had to offer. That's why in the FJ, Dumbledore is still alive. Also why Olivanders' is in Hogsmeade, granted, that's because it's a branch of the original. In addition, if you go to the park as a huge HP fan, they normally point out that our food locations shouldn't be in the area they are located, which amazes me how they know that. Technically I'm not allowed to say why I know this, for story reasons, hopefully everyone understands. xD
  14. Personally, I thought Universal Studios was pretty bad, particularly Dragons Challenge, Do-right, and Hulk had horrid operations last time I was there. Granted, I literally just got a job today working as a attractions attendant on Dragons Challenge. I can't wait to make a difference!
  15. ^No. There are two design rooms. The entire queue line is on ground level now, until you get out of the design lab, where you hit the ramps and go around where the old preshow area used to be. Robb, the entire queue line has been re-profiled. Nothing is remotely the same to the original layout. In addition, the design studios are MUCH larger than the old preshow rooms. The rooms don't exit directly into the queue line as well, like the old one did. Instead, both rooms empty into a spacious room where the ramp up the the ride begins. Personally, I can see this working well. There are two rooms, each holding 34 design computers, and you can have up to three people using the same design computer at one time.
  16. I was riding again today when they allowed cast members into the post show to look around before they closed it back up again. So......more spoilers. In the post show: -You can take a virtual photo of yourself with your car. -You can drive your creative car via simulators. ( I did not see them, but a test track cast member told all about it. There is a lot I still didn't get to see, but it seems like the post-attraction area is a attraction itsself, sort of like how mission space has it's area. Another thing to add; the system where the tracks you make are uploaded to the cars still doesn't work, so I can't say how cool it is to have your track ranked yet. Also, funfacts. The design studio runs Windows 7 enterprise. They are cycling cars every 10 seconds, and I don't see any reason that they shouldn't be able to do this when guests are here, due to loading precedures.
  17. I was able to ride it 7 times today at cast preview. I second everything the person above me said about the ride. I do want to express concern about the q-line, though. It really is smaller than the original line and I'm wondering how many people will it hold. (Or, if there will be a extended queue line outside the building.). I do think it's amazing though, the entire queue line has been re profiled and it makes you try to wonder where everything used to be. Random spoilers and funny story: I miss the heat detection display at the end. Also, techno sound effects are reused from Mission: Space. (Say hello to the noises that play when you press a button on the control panels.) No more track "B" /sad. Fast Pass and Single Rider do NOT have the ability to make their own car, if you get these you will bypass the pre-show/event. Also, obviously when you have a new ride, you expect issues. Well, towards the end of the day, the ride e-stopped, there was only one group of girls on the ride and I was waiting for my last turn before they shut down the ride. Well, funny enough, the entire 30 minutes the ride was down, the girls were screaming for help. Screaming bloody murder. It was highly amusing, the other cast members were laughing as well. Oh well, nothing they could do aside from playing the memo about the ride being down. Either way, it was a fun ride. Some will like it, some won't. However, I think for the GP, this is more impressive than the first rendition.
  18. I don't have enough old stuff lying around to redo the wolfhat/ipod/ect game again this year. ;-; I'l pass this time.
  19. Just got back from the event, this is Friday Night. It seams the Universal, at least for tonight, ditched the roaming hoards. Each group of guels stayed in the same area the ENTIRE night. Also, event twst awesome. Did Gothic: AWESOME, Walking Dead: Okay, Penn and Teller: Loved the 3D effect, did it twice. House of Horrors, gave me a few startles. Mostly with the lighting, where one second you wouldn't see anyone, and the next second someone is in your face. xD xD Bill and Ted made me laugh. Would I spend another 41$ to see the event again this year? No. While I was amazed by the set detail, and the awesomeness of Bill and Ted, I personally think this year was a let down compared to yesteryear.
  20. So like a the top half of the non-inverting loop from Rip Ride Rocket attached to the bottom half of a top hat?
  21. I think it's fantastic, judging from the photos, that were will be no supports in between the keyholes. Thanks makes it more of a beauty for me.
  22. Edge of Africa at Busch Gardens Tampa always seams never busy, and before cheetah hunt, it was almost always deserted.
  23. Just found out that I don't actually have the travel channel. I SHOULD have it, but it's just static. ;-;
  24. First thing I noticed is that Bob wasn't wearing his name tag. :< Thanks for the update, DCA really looks amazing.
  25. Worth noting that the Landscape of Flavors at Art of Animation uses real metal silverware and real plates. The goal is to provide a sitdown style meal with the convenience of of a café style experience. Also, Art is trying to be one of the more "Greener" resorts. They are boasting about how the floor materials are made of recycled concert. I'm possible transferring over to Art from All Star, I'm excited after checking it out.
