  1. ^^, I'll pull up the artical That's the rough end, we can officially confirm the new thrill ride now, at least. And a new kangaroo exhibit, I think the animal toperies are a symbol of how they are expanding the park? Here's the full article. http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/retail/busch-gardens-to-keep-evolving-under-new-leaderbr-br-/1093171
  2. ^^ Well, for one, I doubt anyone in their right mind would run a roller coaster when their is a possibility of people getting hurt. If their are conditions considered unsafe for the ride to operate, then it won't. The last thing a park would want to deal with is a lawsuit because someone got hurt by sand slamming into to them. (Would it really do that much damage? Iono) I would imagine the sand w/ winds would do damage to the track/trains too, Wearing them down and stuff. This is a tricky one, I'll tell you. I'm interested in seeing how it will operate period.
  3. ^^^ Meh, I don't think the point of the ride is about the g-forces. People are going to see it as a coaster with a OMFGSUPERFASTLAUNCH that does other things too. I think that speed is the only advertising factor. The launch is the ride, so to speak. The other stuff is just there.
  4. Yea, Hillsbourgh county (Which BGT is located in) and Pasco county are having their fifth graders going to BGT/WDW/SW for their graduation things. I guess it's the "Big Thing" Before you go to middle school here. From now til school lets out you can expect lines to be down, Spring break is basically the busiest part of the year for BGT IMO. And when temperatures in the 90's you can expect more people at Adventure Island down the street. Kumba is most of the time a walk on during the less active times of year, theirs no line almost always.
  5. It looks like a rubber band attached to goggles. It would squish into the head to stay on. I would assume pre-ride checks would include goggles. You have to be really safe when dealing with large coasters and speed like this.
  6. Heres a video posted to the website, included is more info about the coaster, and a look at this "Special eyewear" http://www.ferrariworldabudhabi.com/video_player3.swf?width=525&height=305&vid=images/video_galleries/FormulaRossa.flv
  7. They haven't said what will replace it, So I do know that even among the staff I talked to that work the katonga shows, they also think that It will be a ice show, or at least, that's what they heard. They told me it's not a proven thing, but rather then heard talks of a ice show from various people. But, I'm not sure about it entirely. BGT would have to renovate the site/building to put a ice rink in their. I personally think that it would hold off before any other construction happens with the 2011 project happens. Theirs just too much going on, I think it would be another stage store.
  8. Well they just confirmed Katonga is closing, Via passport pulse.
  9. Rockin Roller Coaster at WDW last sunday (Rode 10 times, Disability fast passes help make that happen.)
  10. One hundred and twelve degrees! I wonder what angle they'll stop at. 180 degrees, maybe? It's so steep, when you're going down, you're actually going up. That probably won't work in our three dimensional universe, though. that would be 270 degrees, from a horizontal point, at least.. If I remember correctly, Screaming squirrel is 180 degrees "drop". Not sure if it's considered a drop, though.
  11. I know on gwazi they have QQue only seats, at least I think. (In the middle). But I do know that in most cases, they won't let you choose your own seats. The whole point of the QQue is to bypass the lines. I think you can only use the pass one time on each ride, so it's not unlimited
  12. What? It was cloudy all day long, if not raining. I was there from 1:00 to 4:00 and it looked pretty nasty
  13. Yes, I live around 10 minutes from BGA. And I can drive. So I can normally go once every week. (Due to "family time) But I'm a platinum member, so I go as often as I can.
  14. Hey guys, My name is andrew finn. I've been a long time reader/lurker of TPR, so I decided to make an account. Anyway, Today I went to BGT to check out the construction and check things out. I snooped around and asked some of the employees. I talked a driver from rhino rally, and though he couldn't say anything. He did tell me something "Massive" is coming. Granted, we know for the most part already. haha Also, Scorpion's top piece is back up, though the ride is still closed. On a side note, the "text" for wait time program is a complete failure. It could have just been my phone, but the service did not work at all. enough talk I guess, here's the update. (Hope I posted it in the right area) I wonder what would be behind this? Thanks to a really tall dude I asked to peek over the wall (lol), we find this . Marker photo what everyone has More goodness, most likely for the train It would seam that the new sidewalk (where this marker is) is RIGHT next to the train station on the left. I guess the new sidewalk will go over the train tracks, rather then a bridge. It would explain why they are only digging up that section of track. maybe Train, wait, is that a sign? on the lumber? I lol'd at this, Why is this sign needed? I don't know I guess the cheetah they were making wasen't a clue to the ride. They started on a giraffe and a kangaroo.....for the sake of it, maybe it's fast, tall, and packs a punch (lol) Scorpion with it's top piece back Random Elephant photo I took,
