  1. Where's the fail? I see nothing wrong with the article? Piss poor grammer
  2. So much fail in this article, no none proof reads anymore WFAA
  3. ^They'd be just as well to keep a small warehouse full of those things. Wait, then they'd all collaborate, let's not do that afterall.
  4. Someone over at knott's network has spotted the replacement cable in the station. Cedar Fair has got to be tired of that damned cable by now, lol
  5. From what I hear they hit their goals year in and out which makes it attractive on many levels, especially with competition nearby at MOA. That being said I don't think CF will be selling any of their theme parks anytime soon, not to say they won't should the right $offer$ pre$ent it$elf.
  6. They've already said they now plan to keep WOnF, it's bringing in droves of people with it's Haunt event being one of the best in the chain. So much so they routinely run out of parking on Saturday's in October and Cedar Point is copying one of WOnF's in house designed haunts, Zombie High. ValleyFair seems to be the one I would divest if they are even still looking to divest theme parks.
  7. The next scheduled inspection was due no later that Feb 2014, however a new one can be performed at anytime and must be before the ride can re-open, hence the ride can re-open at anytime after which the ride is determined safe. Six Flags has not released any information in at least 3 weeks and has never speculated on when the ride would re-open.
  8. How long does it take to build a new slide? At Schlitterbahn KC, at least 2 seasons! Sorry, thats just been their M.O. from day 1.
  9. ^Don't forget about the managed parks
  10. You are correct Larry, CNL holds the purse strings just as they do at all of the other parks they own. It would be nice if they could sink some money into all of their parks next season.
  11. Pretty sure I overheard the Dippin Dots guy say they just want to get back to where everything is operating first! Seriously tho, I've had my ear to the ground and nothing concrete has popped up other than rumors that stretch from one end to the other, we will know Aug 29th, but if it's another lame show I'll scream. Personally, I hope they announce they will be fixing Judge and replacing the asphalt with pavers or concrete, I'll give them a pass on no new rides for 2 seasons if they'd just do that! Oh and bonus points if they fix their customer service and operations!
  12. All I have to say is....B&M is BAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!
  13. Thunderhawk has been nothing but trouble the last 2+ years, I imagine they are tired of sinking money into it and would rather put that money into a new flat ride. If anything, bring back a himalaya, but honestly that entire area is dead from the entrance of the back breaker to thunderhawk. Lots of potential there.
  14. What they are having made isn't your typical maintenance parts, trust me if I could share more I would but rest assured the ride isn't going anywhere. On another note, the operations at this park have steadily decreased over the season. 20+ visits this year and it's been a downward slide, noticeable cutbacks in operations staff, rides closing early or opening late that didn't use to, and rides with decreased capacity seem to be normal now. Night crew seems much friendly than the day crew by far. Maybe someone will wake up and take note soon or those record passholder sales won't be returning next season.
  15. You know at one point they were pretty decent for a chain and are based in Texas, but over the last year it seems the quality has gone down some with the price going up. The refried beans are really good but if I had my choice, I'd be at more of a local shop like Rusty Taco or one off. However, if you are on the road and need something from a drive thru they are better than taco hell IMHO.
  16. ^They do, don't they? Pretty sure I'm stopping by there in the morning and grabbing a brisket breakfast taco
  17. Today's Taco Adventure started early in the morning with a stop by my favorite taco shop in North Texas, The Rusty Taco - Plano to pick up a few breakfast tacos before heading to Frontier City. I dined on the Jalapeno Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Taco (8/10) and the Brisket Egg and Cheese Taco (9/10). The brisket was moist and melted in my mouth while the Jalapeno Sausage paired with their house made salsa hit the spot. No doubt you will see the Rusty Taco featured again here with a wonderful array of lunch and dinner time tacos. Open daily, the Rusty Taco serves breakfast tacos all day, offers chips and salsa for $1, fancy and regular beers, and of course margaritas. Locations in Texas and MN. Once I filled up on breakfast I hit the road to visit Mikey at Frontier City. For those that don't know, Mikey has been at the park for about 18 months now and the changes he has made in operations, ride availability, and staff friendliness are quite apparent. In general the rides staff were relaxed, friendly, and offered increased efficiency over years past. I was also given a backstage tour of Wild Cat, the Renegade Rapids, and we snooped around the old Eruption site. So get your taco ready, it's time for my annual trip to Frontier City with a sneak peak of Wild Cat, POV style! Oppsie! The day started out by fueling up at the amazing Rusty Taco - Plano in Plano, TX. I need one of these restaurants. What better way to start a trip to Frontier City than the one, the only, Silver Bullet. Better than normal sex. Yup, the Big O. Anyway, moving on... Although this day was quite warm, the park looked in great shape and was super clean. And while many parks shy away from their themes once bought and sold, Frontier City has kept true to their old west theme. They have also managed to keep their guns in working order. The old rustic feel is a far cry from most corporate parks. There might even have some Tacos if you look hard enough. But if Taco's aren't your thing, and if they aren't, well, you are dead to me, they do have other things to munch on. I suppose you could spend the night if you wanted to. Or take a stroll to the penny arcade. But what I'm here to do is to check out one of their new rides. Yes, that's right credit whores, they have a new ride. Wild Kitty has been swapped out for a newer, better model courtesy of their sister property at Elitch Gardens. But unless you are under 54", it's not for you. Sorry! But what you can do is pet the farm animals! But if that's not your style you can always swing on over... ....to the diamondback. And no, I didn't forget about you nerds You can also hang 10... ...or get yourself locked in... ...and take a spin! Like me! Or the horror! I promise, no more pictures of me. Of course you can always cool off and then... ...air dry on Steel Lasso, still one of the smoothest Vekoma's around. It's grown in nice and honestly I don't even miss the swings. Although some people find it scary while the more experience riders find it fun. How about we take a little behind the scenes tour? First stop, Wild Cat. How about a little up-skirt action for you PTC enthusiasts. Caught red handed!! So I'm sure some of you are wondering, hey, I thought you said Eruption was leaving? And then you are thinking, do they plan to re-open it? Well, no, it will not re-open. And yes, they had planned to take it out, however, enhancements were needed to the concert area and quite honestly, it was money well spent. The towers aren't causing any harm, but they hope to remove them sooner than later. Hello pod. You thrilled many a riders in your time. But no more, sniff sniff Unless....Ok, I tried hitting buttons, none of them worked :/ Next up we went to check out the rapids. Did you know it has 4 holding ponds? Well...you do now! For those of you wondering if you get wet, well yes, yes you do thanks largely in part to a waterfall that you can't avoid, after that the ride is fairly calm as seen here. The park hosts concerts throughout the year on Saturdays with top named acts. They also host a Halloween event each year with an upcharge haunt. For more information, visit their website, and while you are at it, plan a visit to the park! Adios!
  18. Again guys, this change has been in the works for some time Lap bars/shin guards aren't made in a week.
  19. ^Any hopes of WOnF getting a Windseeker sailed long ago, even more so after yesterday's company wide closure of them.
  20. It is shared in the SDC thread where the original poster also made the same post.
  21. So the goal is to increase rider comfort by decreasing the percentage of the GP able to ride it? There's a first hand account on SDCfans. I didn't get to ride it yesterday as it went down around 5 and wasn't open as of 8:15 as we checked before we left . But lots of folks that enjoyed their rides previously were not happy. They had near 24,00o on Sat and many that had rode it before waited hours to be turned away. Again, the position sensors are at the parks discretion. When the bars were changed out, the sensors would have been re-calibrated. The shin guards were redesigned for rider comfort in the shin area. It's also plausible that those who were able to ride before gained a little weight after eating all those SDC Skillets.
  22. This change has been in the works for a while in an attempt to increase rider comfort. Keep in mind that it is a prototype train, lessons are being learned and will be applied to not only this, but new builds alike. One of those lessons was that the shin guard was not very comfortable to park guests. The park is responsible for setting the lab bar position sensors on the trains. As long as they meet minimum spec, they can be set anywhere the park desires.
  23. Perhaps you should first know what you are talking about and why the change was made. It was not made as a result of the Texas Giant incident.
  24. Here is an interesting, but well written article that I don't recall being posted DallasNews
