  1. You say it could have "easily" been released, but I've been on plenty of rides where it's not immediately obvious how the belt is released and it takes one or two tries before you get it. In the midst of a panic attack, it's possible she wouldn't have been able to release it, especially with increased pressure on the mechanism from the forces. It's all meaningless speculation anyway. Maybe if she'd felt the seat belt securing her, she wouldn't have panicked in the first place! You seriously need to let your seat belt crusade go.
  2. ^^Lets go with that for a very quick moment. If she had a panic attack, even if there was a seatbelt installed the seatbelt could have easily been released, as is on most rides with them, in order to aide in freeing herself. The addition of a seatbelt would not have helped. Of course seatbelts really don't matter in this case as this restraint system does not need them by design. ^In manual mode, virtually anything is possible, you are correct.
  3. How is it operator error if there are no rules stating that she is too large too ride? I have not heard of there being a sign of this nature for NTAG. It's only operator error if the operator did not follow established protocol. 2011 ride sign.
  4. ^It's because RCDB is listing it as ratcheting, messaged Duane about it.
  5. I'm resisting driving over there to take photos of the media circus that's going on.
  6. Pretty sure we have all seen it, but thanks.
  7. Guys, bolts pop on steel rides from time to time, it happens. If more than one pops, they replace all of them on the flange, if its just one, they replace it, check the others, good to go.
  8. Wow. So do you weigh them? Put a tape measure around their waist? Ask them how heavy they are?
  9. Rocky Mountain does not make ride control systems. The park chose and programmed the ride control system.
  10. Why do we need an autopsy report, we know how she died. Simply passing out in a seat will not eject you if that is what you are getting at.
  11. ASTM standards dictate there has to be some sort of redundant mechanism, so there had to have been something. It uses two independent hydraulic cylinders.
  12. It's closed for 'precautionary' reasons per guest services.
  13. How's that, are you doing the investigation? Park employees will not have any comment.
  14. Wait, I thought you weren't going back to the park until Shockwave reopened.
  15. iRat is closed as are all other Gerstlauer rides that use the same restraints at Six Flags parks for inspection.
  16. Why are saying stupid stuff? The park maintains the trains per Gerstlaure specs. RMC built the track. They do not operate the ride, inspect the trains, nor perform maintenance on the ride. Please don't start something.
  17. It's not a law, it's policy. It was instituted after finding they had extended downtime due to 'reverse of fortune'
  18. I was at Mt O in Sept 2011, front axle snapped on the cart in front of me, shocked the person driving wasn't hurt as the cart went airborne after it ran over itself.
  19. Black train will come back in September/October, Red train will go off.
  20. ^You forgot about Bell's, similar set up. The county got a portion of the gate, no parking fees, and during the fair it was coupons only.
  21. For those of you going to the park this week: Texas Giant is currently down to single train operations, it is unknown when it will return to two train ops. The red train has been experiencing sensor issues throughout the year and has been the cause for much of the downtime on the ride. Its parked in the maintenance bay. Expect longer than normal wait times.
