  1. It's not that they can't handle it...I just wonder if Six Flags is willing to keep footing the bill. I'm not so sure they are footing all of this bill
  2. ^^ No worries, she will be around for a while This was simply a case of the domino effect, one thing broke which in turn caused several other issues, when all is finished she will be better than new This would be accurate. This time of year you should be seeing 30min to 1 hour+ waits for the majors. Considering they have two major attractions down for the count, it makes sense as to why its a little empty.
  3. You have to know what you are looking for first.
  4. ^Shockwave is down for the rest of year while parts are manufactured.
  5. If they keep with the everyotheryear philosophy for new rides set forth by the new CEO, next year could be a disappointment. However, something tells me DC Universe is on it's way sooner than later. Record revenue thus far dictates in order to keep record revenue levels a new attraction is a must as like has been mentioned, the park skyline really hasn't changed too much in the last 10 years save for the new tower swings.
  6. ^Flash pass sales aren't what you think they are at this particular park, wrong demographic and poor ride choices keep most people from buying them.
  7. This is one section before the station on Batman that has it's a/c working, but the station area, nada, and hasn't been for a while. It's all about how cheaply they can get away with staffing at SFOT, not saying they cut ride maintenance budgets so as not to get confused, but operations seems to cut and snip and do the bare minimum to ensure the lines stay nice and long. Just think, maybe if people didn't have to spend so long in line they might buy something or play a game, wow, what a concept!
  8. Casino Pier re-opened tonight offering free admission on select rides. I must say food for them, and while it took a few weeks longer than they hoped it appears to have been done right the first time. More rides are sure to be on the way in the future.
  9. As for Batman, if you have already been to SFFT and/or SFOG, and rode Goliath (at SFFT) or Batman (SFOG), then you already have that notch in your belt. Our experience with Batman at SFOT is that the line is mind-numbingly slow. I don't know what it is they are or aren't doing up there that takes the loading/unloading process soooo loooong, but we won't ride it unless the line is at the staircase inside the station. We were pleasantly surprised to see SFFT kick some arse on Goliath. Even running one train, they managed to get things moving quicker than SFOT on 2 trains. And there isn't much in the way of a/c or ventilation in the line ques, which makes it stifling. Especially on a humid day, which is the majority of the time out here. At least with Freeze, the building is air conditioned all the way through till you board and coming off, and the line moves pretty good when they have both trains running. Here is the deal on Batman, the first is they only operate it with 3 people, 1 panel, 2 load, then combine stupid people who want to take their shoes off, well, that was fine 2 years ago but now they have a policy that shoes must travel. No one listens, so, as the two loaders are wondering back through the train as they catch someone without shoes, its unlock 2 rows, get the shoes, recheck two rows, move back, repeat. 4:30 dispatches are the norm. Add two more loaders, or even one more and get better throughput. But they are budget friendly these days so you won't see it.
  10. Where is Markey now? Article 2 mules were killed, TWO! This is an outrage! Of course once the media gets finsihed with the it the mules will be donkeys, the wagon wasn't green, it was red, it wasn't highway 64, it was highway 69, and it wasn't his father, it was his grandfather
  11. That video is disgusting. Anything to make a dime.
  12. ^^Yup. The restraint has to be down a good distance for the sensor to trip, not El Toro distance due to the seat design, but still a decent amount of distance. If anything, I can see the sensors being adjusted a few degrees, but nothing more.
  13. Markey for President! (seriously, only kidding, he might mandate body armor anytime you leave your house!)
  14. ^I agree with you. Another badly written article that is most likely referring to the drop in the first hill, not the first 'drop' Her final resting spot was the tunnel on the backside of the ride, about center from left to right. edit: all of these sh!t articles from my local Dallas news stations has me thinking it's time to move again. Sadly it'd just be more of the same in the next city.
  15. yeah, I dropped a little message to Mr. Cooper.
  16. ^Not a live shot, that is where witnesses claim she was gone. Keep in mind, one of them was the same witness who was in the station at the time she departed the train.... Considering the cherry picker was above the tunnel, about in the center of the back of the ride, if she departed here, it woulda been a helluva journey. Statement just released by the park:
  17. Thought this shot might shed some light on things, not sure why, but what the hell
  18. Update: Official Cause of Death Dallas News
  19. This morning's analyst call with Six Flags stated there is now both an internal and external investigation being conducted. Analyst Call
  20. Sorry, I forgot to do the rest of the research for you. www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=334206
  21. The only reason I'm willing to back down on that is because of just how explicitly the sign indicates how the bar must be in contact with your thighs. If, after this accident, it's determined that the ride must install seat belts, then I'll have been vindicated, because it means the ride should've had them from the beginning, and if it had, this woman may still be alive. I'm not sure why anyone is so dead set against them. OMG, did you seriously just post this? Vindicated? What are we, in middle school? Study up on how these restraints work and then you will understand a bit more.
  22. Do we have confirmation that the bar was indeed touching her belly/bosom and not her thighs? If that is the case, then I would be inclined to agree with you. No. The only thing that is confirmed is that the she is dead.
