  1. NTAG and IRAT both have polyurethane wheels. Sandor will build anything you ask for if you have cash in hand.
  2. Has Skyhawk been down all season?
  3. ^Notice what words he has highlighted.
  4. Reading the webmasters replies has me LOLing. I love that they are putting people in their place after making dumb comments.
  5. Because having Colossus as the only wooden coaster that's open is "better than nothing." And YOLO. That's why.
  6. Something these people need to keep in mind is that the parks don't enjoy attractions being down any more than they do. I'm pretty sure whatever is wrong with I:305 is costing KD thousands of dollars to fix.
  7. Rows 4 and 5 on Silver Bullet have 1 seat each with double seat belts. Just because the seat belts buckle does not mean you'll get to ride. Restraint has to click once to register clear by the PLC.
  8. Love that face Robb. Look forward to seeing this.
  9. That's a rope not the used cable. The manufacturer of the cable states 18 months however the park replaces all 3 cables during XCs annual rehab. The "18 months" portion of the cable life can vary due to the amount of cycles the cable has and obviously with more cycles the cable would need to be replaced before the 18 month expected life cycle is up thus why it's replaced every 12 months.
  10. Sounds just like the KBF policy.
  11. ^^Stay away from the back, It will beat the sh*t out of you. That's my only advice for X2. Other than that, fantastic ride as it always has been. I personally like the outside seat, 1st row, on the "stair-side" of the station.
  12. ^Nice. No better way to represent your own work.
  13. Yea it was closed about 8-10 weeks if I remember correctly. X2's issue was the gear box I believe which has even longer lead time than a motor. Lift motors for large coasters like this are pretty unique due to the amount of torque needed to get a train up the lift hill quickly. Buying one new could be upwards of $150,000. The other challenge is that these things usually have a really long lead time of 20 to 30 weeks once you place an order. For marquee rides, it's really not all that unusual for a park to keep a spare one in inventory. You're right, parks usually keep spares so when one is in operation the other is being rebuilt. My thinking was that GAdv may not keep a spare as they have an off-season to rebuild the motor.
  14. Found these awesome pictures of a architectural model that was made for Wodan by CMG Models. The detail on this is pretty amazing. Looks like GCI uses them to make their models for trade shows. CMG Facebook
  15. ^Exactly my thoughts. Hell, I just got a roundtrip flight from LAX to CHI for $215.
  16. I just assumed Arrow, what/who is AMEC? http://www.empireds.com/ Check out the picture on their site...they built the new monorails too. They also partnered with Kuka on the Robocoaster concept. I thought the TDR monorails were Hitachi? I could be wrong though....
  17. Ouch. Good thing it happened towards the end of the season. A lift motor isn't normally something that's kept in stock however some parks have spares and swap them out every year during the rides rehab. IE: KBF has 2 motors for Zoom's flywheel. While 1 is in operation the other is being rebuilt and they are swapped during rehab. Problem with GAdv is that they most likely only see the need for the 1 motor and rebuild it during the off-season.
  18. ^^Don't expect NTAG to open without seatbelts.
  19. From what I hear they hit their goals year in and out which makes it attractive on many levels, especially with competition nearby at MOA. That being said I don't think CF will be selling any of their theme parks anytime soon, not to say they won't should the right $offer$ pre$ent it$elf. Makes sense. I agree with you and don't think they will be selling any parks anytime soon but like Robb said, CRAZY things have happened.
  20. How has VF been doing attendance wise? Do they ever have lines on any of their rides?
  21. ^If true, I can definitely see WoF or VF going first. Wildwater Kingdom would be a good purchase by CNL.
  22. Heard about this yesterday. I'm surprised Michigan's Adventure has lasted as long as it has....... MA would fit right into their current portfolio.
  23. SFMM's Batman has those too and of course they haven't worked in years either which is a shame as it's a cool effect.
  24. No need for apologies Hanno. We appreciate what you do. I absolutely love pictures of trains going through barrel rolls, zero-G rolls etc....
