  1. ^If by RMC, you mean Intamin. Then yes.
  2. ^Same here however the operators would only turn on transfer mode at the end of the operating day to allow maintenance/operations managers to remove trains.
  3. ^Makes sense. When I operated Silver Bullet at KBF, I never saw maintenance use the Maintenance Bypass key unless they were running the lift for their morning PM of the chain. Transfer mode was turned on and off by operators.
  4. Sorry for the delay. This right here is just 1 of many reasons TPR is the pinnacle of Theme Park Enthusiast sites. I'm anxious to find out what's on the disk! Thank you again Robb and Elissa!!
  5. ^^It gets REAL shakey if you're in the back row of an empty train. Coming through the 2nd overbank turn into the brakes you'd think the train was going fall apart.
  6. Got a special delivery at work! I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as I get home. Thank you Robb and Elissa!
  7. ^That's great! Yea I liked your FB page already. Congrats on creating your own company.
  8. ^Did you work for Consign @ some point?
  9. ^I agree. Can't wait to see what else Disney has planned for the MagicBand.
  10. If they don't require 1 then I'm not sure why it would be in there but yes I just read it does have 1 as Robb said so my mistake.
  11. SF parks and most CF parks will let the crew do the set up testing but at Knott's the Maintenance, Leads and/or supervisors as have to do said tests on the coasters.
  12. ^^Polyurethane wheels on wooden coasters provide a smoother and quieter ride as well as have less resistance than steel wheels thus providing more speed.
  13. Love the layout and close interactions with the ground @ :58 but I'll be that guy and say it still looks like your typical forceless B&M.
  14. My favorite coaster shots are of Intamins inverting. Thanks for sharing as usual.
  15. Things are moving at a brisk pace despite the weather. Source
  16. Couple more: Source Glad Premier sold another one of these designs. Looks pretty awesome to be launched through the ride structure.
  17. ^The latter of the 2. My issues with X2 are the 2nd raven turn and the back 3 rows of the train.
  18. ^Thus why Disney programs their own attractions. Still need state approval to change programming but they do not have to consult the manufacturer as they make themselves the manufacture. 1 less step. FT's operators are dealing with the same thing that Xcelerator's operators deal with. All it takes is 1 idiot to pull down their lap bap while sitting on their seat belt to delay the entire train while all lapbars are released and rechecked.
  19. My money is on a European park purchasing 1 first. Looks like a great concept. Thanks for the video and report Robb/Elissa.
  20. ^Correct. As someone who operated the ride for 5 years, I'll chime in here. XC can and does run 2 trains on a pretty consistent basis, barring either train being out for inspection/rehab. Knott's mechanics do what's called a "set-up" test every morning on all the coasters with multiple trains including XC. Whole premise behind the "setup" test is to verify that the rides safety system is functioning as intended. The mechanics will leave a train in the "Waiting block" and then launch the train in the station. In the picture below you will see a set of 2 proximity sensors just in front of the train. Once that train flags those sensors, the PLC will allow the operators in the station to press the "Station Ready" buttons and then it will automatically advance the train into the station from the waiting block. For the purpose of the "Set-up" test, the mechanics will not advance the train in the waiting block on purpose to verify that the train that has been launched stops at the end of the "Brake block." The rides PLC knows the difference between a loaded train and an empty train based on 1: How much power was needed to get the train up to the required 79.5 MPH needed to clear the Top Hat and 2: How fast it enters the brake block. If the waiting block is occupied, an empty train will advance to the end of the brake block but a loaded train will stop a little ways out as an added safety precaution. Little hard to explain so if you need further clarification please feel free to PM me.
  21. ^^When I spoke to Tim Burkhart @ WCB of 2011 he said it was being stored underneath X2 because some roller coaster museum wanted it but he told them he wasn't paying to transport it. He said he was waiting on them to provide transportation. So either he's still waiting on them to cut the check for the transport or they gave up on it.
