  1. You know you're a Six Flags park if you have fan boys defending mediocrity.
  2. Part of it depends on speed of train. An empty/light train will get minimal/no trimming whereas a heavily loaded train will be heavily trimmed. The other part of it is PLC programming.
  3. "Dropped Intamin as a manufacturer?" And you know this how?
  4. Thought this said "Zero G Hell" and I was like well that sounds fun!
  5. Unfortunately, there are not. Until the state allows Zumanjaro and Ka to run simultaneously, Ka's 4th train is pretty much useless. Three trains is all the ride needs to get it's max throughput with Zumanjaro in the picture. That's unfortunate. Thanks for your answer.
  6. One of the main reasons they used to crank out the trains is because they used to actually staff the ride instead of just having the minimal requirement in the station. I really wish they'd reconsider that cost-cutting tactic. They don't need to have it like Dorney Park where there's an obscene amount of workers on Talon, but even just adding two more workers per major ride (Bizzaro, Nitro, El Toro, S:UF) in order to cover the second half of the train would help capacity immensely. I have visited SFFT twice; 2008 and 2013. On my 2008 visit they had 1 (YES,1!!) operator checking trains @ S:KC and she did not stack trains at all. She had a train half way up the lift when the other was coming through the transfer. It can be done with minimal staffing but depends on their drive and how much their management cares about efficiency. I'm not saying they should have just 1 operator checking restraints at any coaster, however this young lady @ SFFT proved that 1 CAN do it.
  7. You're giving waaaaaaay too many details. Be a little more vague next time.
  8. I'm going with a dark ride before another coaster will be added.
  9. Weird. XC normally gets its rehab in February. Also, Don't count on the track getting painted.
  10. Stinger is a hell of a lot of fun. Not reliable at all, however.
  11. I:305 is a sexy beast. Great report, thanks for sharing. Did you make Robb proud by yelling "twisssstyyyy!!!!" ?
  12. I also heard this GCI is going to run 7 trains and feature a drop-track element.
  13. ^You're telling me! I've been bailed out by "Plan B" a few times.
  14. This is great. These "food festivals" are a great revenue stream. KD still has some work ahead of them but this is a great start! Thanks for sharing, Chuck.
  15. Looking fantastic! This makes me sad to live in the US.
  16. Not to be mean or anything, but there are people on this forum who are or have been members of SFMM's finance department. It's probably not wise to speak for them or assume you know what their basic strategy is. Having a headline attraction unexpectedly down for a substantial part of the year is a disaster no matter what anybody's strategy is. Aside from circumstances outside anybody's control, act of God etc, there's really no excuse for that to ever happen. You're not being mean at all. I have my own connections as well but don't want this to turn into a pissing match about who knows who. All I'm saying is if the park wanted to stock a replacement chain they would but they don't. When X's chain broke last time it was down for how long? Also, I agree with everyone that having a star attraction down is not good on any level. Exactly. It's a lose-lose situation.
  17. I agree with you that having an attraction down for 6 months is horrible in every aspect, but I guarantee their finance department doesn't see it that way thus why these items are not on hand.
