  1. The catch car uses hydraulic pressure and "clamps" onto one of the brake fins on the train. I've seen it in action numerous times while Deja was at SFMM but it's hard to explain as it's A LOT more complex than the traditional Boomerangs. The catch car design used on the Giant Inverted Boomerangs is what caused most of the downtime.
  2. ^^ I'm not complaining. It is what it is. X-Flight looks to be the better of the 3 Wing riders that opened this year.
  3. ^If you ask the park.......yes it is that hard.
  4. Borderline? Dave, thank you SO much for posting that. My day is complete. Now if I could just stop laughing...er...cringing....okay, both. Fixed! Bad choice of a word.
  5. That can backfire sometimes. People do that with me when I'm grouping @ California Screamin and it backfires 9/10.
  6. Love the height chart. I will be doing this for my daughter. Thank for the TR but why was there no Boomerang in your itinerary? ^Supreme has always allowed glasses with straps. For Xcel it looks like the park may have finally gotten Intamin to amend the "no glasses" part of the operation guideline manual. When I was a lead @ XC enthusiasts would always argue about TTD allowing glasses with straps. I would always explain the situation and 9/10 they were cool with the answer. But of course, there was always that 1 D-Bag that would sit up on the loading dock arguing for 20 minutes about his glasses.
  7. While I will agree that PP has horrible capacity, the excessive loading time is 99.9% of the time due to the ride and the restraint monitoring system.
  8. Source: Gerstlauer I like what has been shown so far of the cars.
  9. That's most likely for the on-ride camera flash.
  10. My guess is it's probably a pass holder appreciation day or something where they will open the park early or let pass holders ride the rides after the park is closed to the public.
  11. ^^^The child's height should have been checked prior to locking the restraints.......
  12. ^What he said. B&M has been proven to make force less coasters since 2001. The GP doesn't care much as they still enjoy them and wouldn't exactly call them "force less" as us enthusiasts would. Everyone knows B&M is a great company and have proven themselves to make a reliable product and most parks will tell you they are the easiest company to deal with. I'm an Intamin fan boy but will be the first to tell you they are a pain in a$$ to deal with in terms of reliability.
  13. ^ This is funny because it's true.
  14. Source This train design is really starting to grow on me.
  15. ^That definitely won't be happening this season so need to worry about that.
  16. ^The brake run is too high. Other than that it looks great.
