Lets have RMC makeover Grizzly and Hurler into one kickass ride, right KD management? -

RMC is obviously cursed. -

I used the water park once, and the lines were unbearable. I don't know how anyone puts up with it. -

Shockwave is worth it for the first drop in the back. -

I was thinking that KD could use a ride like DiVertical. They'll be hard pressed to market a coaster, but a big modern water ride like that fits the park's image, can be easily advertised, and fills the need for a prominent water/splash ride in the park. -
A delay isn't the end of the world, but I wouldn't call it "a good thing". Goals were set and not met, pieces were put up and taken down, multiple reschedulings, etc, all in all bad news for the park. It seems like this was an unusually problematic build for RMC. Yes it was a rough winter, but I wonder if that was the whole story.

I sort of agree. It's great, but not my favorite part of the ride. -

I think that the front is unbeatable. That's real speed & views up there. The back is fun, but the middle is just as good, I think. You get the most consistent airtime and forces in the middle, not quite as strong air as the back, but still strong and longer lasting. -
Hah! I guess my fingers were wandering, or I meant to describe old bananas. How many rides in the world are there that you can leave your seat on? A tiny portion of rides with negative G's, I'd imagine. A handful of oldies like Phoenix, Gravity Group rides, three or four GCI's, only a few steels. Maybe more that I'm not thinking of. Very few being built this decade, even the high profile woodies use pneumatic restraints.

The #1 strategy for avoiding excessive grey outs is to drink a bunch of water. Hydration! To answer your question, All 3 major configurations produced grey outs. It's maybe a tiny bit less strong/shorter duration than opening day. -

I can't imagine that not being the world's best coaster. Buuut I think nostalgia makes that coaster invincible. Luddites.... -

You know, I was last at KI in 2000 (rode SOB w/ loop), but there hasn't been any ride attracting me back to the park until this one. -

Does anyone have any information on this? I've never heard of a way to neutralize the field from a permanent magnet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddy_current_brake http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday's_law_of_induction ^information on magnetic brakes, though understanding them needs a foundation in electromagnetism. Cool, looking more closely at that pic, I wonder if those little shafts have a bearing in them and they actually spin (the part that looks like a socket ranch stays static). A spinning electronic motor creates a magnetic field right (?) and that round shape makes me think smaller electric motor, like a mini dynamo. Interesting either way! I did not notice the trim at all but Banshee hauls A$$ regardless. A moving charge, such as current through a wire creates a magnetic field. Usually moving parts aren't required to make an electromagnet. Electric motors create power by spinning due to moving current in stationary wire. They use current to produce magnetic fields, which are used to power the motor.
