I guess they're not going ahead with that volcano station modification? -

Ah, for some reason I thought we were talking about the view across the beach, and not the direction of the lift. -

It's going to be nice to have an open view to the south on a tall coaster. Of course, you'll have maybe 4 or 5 seconds at the crest of the lift hill to enjoy it, before suddenly things start turning sideways... Isn't this the north face of the point? -

I checked out that FB page, and people have said they've visited the site, and that no work is being done. Getting new footers in there would surely be a huge process too, considering the nature of that spot. -

The motor looks like a lego piece. -

Are the footers past the beach (in the lot and entrance) poured? -
What is your favorite launch coaster?

Best overall for me is Maverick. Best launch was Hypersonic, no question. I miss you, hypersonic! -

Are there any other examples of a wood coaster with so few (but extreme) elements? Not a complaint, as I prefer a short extreme ride to a long meandering one; It's something we see with lots of steel rides, but I can't think of a notable wooden ride that behaves this way. -

In a roller coaster, isn't an axle just a bar the length of the width of a wheel? It seems surprising that such a small piece of steel would break. -

Wow, these are some of the craziest pictures I've ever seen here. I was expecting the wave turn and speed hill to look good, but not that good! -

I'm guessing that there's a 99% chance it hits the brakes after the tunnel. Maybe some people like setting themselves up for disappointment? -

I hope its something good, I'd be pleased with a big flat or something, but I'm expecting basically nothing. -

I love mantis' second half, its so wacky with a lot of changes in direction. Much more interesting than most looping B&M endings, I think. (So sick of interlocking corkscrews) -

On a hot day, in a mostly empty station last year the ops said it was going 98, but take that with a grain of salt. Regardless, it is going fast. -
Depending on the effects in the tunnel, it could be pretty dramatic to have that stop there. An extra launch, especially backwards is a good thing though, I think that this sounds much more entertaining than a simple second launch. I don't really understand the type of complaint about the mid course break and backwards launch as a "waste of momentum", as a roller coaster only aims to entertain, and not to conserve energy. This setup sounds much more entertaining to me, LIM launches rarely fail to thrill.

Sadly I think the best iron horse candidates are just about exhausted, save Mean Streak, which won't happen. I don't expect too many more unless someone decides to build one from scratch. Perhaps this project will be much cheaper than NTG, and will attract more attention. Is the small hill after the barrel roll an overbank, or a bunny hill? -

Yea, we've been over that in this thread, although the last person saw charlie brown. That is literal moon topography, although it most likely will be planet snoopy regardless. -

Even without the wingrider element, it's one of the world's tallest, fastest, and longest loopers. The new entrance should be a big landmark for the park, a lot of excitement for guests coming in. -

This must be one of the world's tallest loopers, no? It's been a while since the last tall/fast chain lift looper. Very long too, looks great. -

I think this could be a top ranking coaster, it is going to be blazing through that course! I love that wooden coasters are evolving, hopefully it is the beginning of a whole new generation of rides, I know people rave about New Texas Giant. Coasters are getting better all the time!
