  1. That bunny hop run... Wouldn't be surprised if this is somehow the new best coaster on earth, but I say that about every under construction RMC.
  2. Yeah, all true. I only mentioned that because you mentioned resolution. The nice thing is that the second generation of VR coasters might be much nicer than the first, as tech evolves.
  3. There are a few reasons why the GearVR is a lot worse than the dedicated headsets like the Oculus Rift, sure, but GearVR actually has the highest resolution of all of them . It's not too bad if you don't expect photorealism IMO.
  4. If longer dispatches meant more airtime, I doubt there would be too many complaints.
  5. Six flags announces a new technology attraction to 9 parks, the prototypes received only positive reviews, and it's not an upcharge when it clearly could be. "I hope it's bad so they take it out!" Is such a strange reaction to me. They would have never built spiderman IOA if they'd paid attention to that kind of thought. Can't wait to see some people eat crow when they accidentally like it!
  6. The headset has strong lenses to focus the light far away.
  7. Samsung just sells the phone and Gear VR headset. VR Coaster, a company spun off of Mack, is doing the rest.
  8. Cedar Fair is putting in a good number of VR coasters, right? Interesting to imagine which rides will get the treatment now the Six Flags is putting them on a lot of their most intense rides. Will they follow Six Flags' free model, or do an upcharge?
  9. Anti-microbial leather cushioning and a anti-bacterial wipedown after each use according to six flags.
  10. In general, no you cannot see through them. There is a way to do that, but It's not all that convenient. I'd bet that the ride attendants will hand them to you once the restraints are locked and help you with putting them on (although it isn't hard to do), and the VR will be on as soon as you put it on.
  11. The headset requires a compatible phone, the cheapest of which is 600$ MSRP. They may have access to phones built specifically built for this without phone capabilities, but I'd assume those cost at least 400$. So, about at least 500$ per set sounds about right to me.
  12. I think for a good number of guests, Superman VR SFNE will be the best attraction in the world.
  13. Well, I'll be visiting SFA for the first time in 10 years thanks to this.
  14. There actually is no footers there, the trains are bolted directly to the supports.
  15. Oh my mistake, I didn't realize I was talking to a cool guy here.
  16. I thought the article was fine. Did anyone think it was going to be an exposee about just how well-adjusted and personable they are and how they totally don't take it too seriously?
  17. ^^^ People on a Theme park message board saying "I'm not a nerd like that!"
  18. Seems crazy that this little park will have a 1-2 punch of coasters better than lots of much bigger parks. Great news for people in the area.
  19. It seems like most B&M's almost never use both course blocks at once, and the ones without MCBR's get along fine (like the gigas, which have huge capacity, don't they?). So I wonder just how it works, putting in a MCBR or not, that would be some neat insight.
  20. This thing is looking huge! I wish we could have seen this ride with no MCBR, and 2 or 3 more big elements instead of the lower second half.
  21. Shockwave was pretty nice looking (with the new-ish paint) and added a lot of life to that midway. I feel like it may look a bit empty now, even with the frisbee.
