  1. What, in your 6 months of paying attention? Come talk to me in ten years. You can share frustrations with me about how the people even younger than you only have three capabilities: Getting high, gorging on fast food, and burying their hunched over drooling faces in "smart" devices. I can understand if the people ten years older than me had disgust for my age group as well, which is why I have always gotten along much better with people older than me. Wow man, how can you write that without thinking "maybe I'm just an out of touch cliche?".
  2. http://www.coaster101.com/2015/10/01/disneys-flying-roller-coaster-concept/ Could it be for disney's vertical load/launch flyer concept?
  3. It is very tame yeah, the strength of that ride is that it's in the woodsiest, shadiest, and most isolated part of the park. It's nice to ride that type of ride through the woods. When I've been on it though, they had a series of water jets that 100% soaked everyone at the end.
  4. They all seem like really great attractions in general to me, essential on a hot day and some of the most 'all ages' kind of fun there is. ^ Yeah they do get you soaked, but a 90+ degree day and a fast coaster afterwards usually dries me off. Wouldn't ride one in the 70's or lower.
  5. The rapids ride is terrific, don't know why it gets less love than the flume..
  6. Capacity is really the only thing there, and it seems that corporate doesn't value it as much as this community does. It seems likely that guest interest and satisfaction were sufficiently higher on this type of ride (being fitted with VR) to justify it's choice rather than something like whizzer. There's really no need for wild theories.
  7. Why assume that? It's a readily marketable attraction, Six Flags doesn't need any additional justification to add this and attract customers. For Six Flags? No, this doesn't add to their customer base really. But for Samsung, it puts their product in front of 1 million people instead of say 450-500k if this was installed on Demon. That is the factor that is driving this. It's a collaboration between Samsung AND Six Flags. Both sides want to benefit. This is where Samsung is getting their benefit. Samsung is the one who pushed for this to be used on marquee attractions like Bull and Superman in all likelihood. This is a product that Six Flags purchased from "VR Coaster". I know that samsung has some level of involvement, including supplying the phones and Gear VR's, but as far as I know, you're peddling a conspiracy theory here. The initial batch of VR coasters was put on a wide range of rides, ranging from the highest to lowest profile coasters in each park. They've most likely determined based on their collected customer data that Raging Bull is the best candidate for attracting guests to the park. Everyone here seems to be under the impression that the only case for this tech is to rejuvenate low profile or low ridership rides, but there's no reason to think Six Flags thinks that. To them, putting VR on a major ride is a recipe for a low cost marquee attraction.

  9. I suspect that BGW got an incredible deal on this, and it's only 2-3 millionish.
  10. Why's that? Sorry, it may sound stupid, but I don't get the joke (If it is one) A thing you can do in a fast car, I guess. Seems appropriate to me.
  11. They should have called that element a "peel out".
  12. Any indication when Superman VR might start?
  13. It's best to set humor expectations low around here.
  14. I'm not expecting a very thrilling ride out of this one, but something light and fun to do inbetween the bigger and better rides, something like backlot stunt coaster or a good mine train. Of course a tiny terrain woodie that turned out to be a monster of a ride would be a welcome surprise.
  15. New France is on the other side of the park away from the brewery. This stuff on the left anyways, is going to be really visible from the lift and turnaround.
  16. Will the view be nice? The ride is right up against the brewery parking lot and warehouses. I'm sort of baffled by the location.
  17. Planned giga for Heide Park, 331 feet I believe.
  18. there's a drop after the helix. I realize that, I mean that it seems like it's heading into that flat turn pretty fast.
  19. Its going from a huge banking helix straight to a flat turn at roughly the same height?
  20. Yes, they're provided by six flags. Why would that be easier? You'd need to power the trains, and have a ~1000$ desktop computer (hardware that isn't meant to move) powering each headset. You'd also need to install the tracking cameras/emitters, and you'd have a harder time cleaning those headsets.
  21. That dive loop looks crazy, going the trick bank like fahrenheit.
  22. Looks like its rising into a little drop into the headchopper?
