  1. I do hope one of you saved the epic Great America vs. Great Adventure showdown. Some things are just worth keeping...
  2. I guess you really don't like Arrows or Vekomas then, eh? All jesting aside, very nice PTR! It's nice to see a a few pics from a park less documented. I didn't know there even was a half-pipe coaster in the US! Too bad the weather wasn't too good for taking pictures, but it turned out great either way. Plus, I envy that you rode one of those Arrow shuttles... Good job, hope you had fun!
  3. Now how sick and twisty would that 8-Loop be in reality? This element just BEGS to be re-done in NL! But I do wonder why this loop was made for the Arrow/Morgan hypercoaster track in Rct3.
  4. Only a few of my closest friends know about my coaster-nerddom and respect it, but i'm not to afraid to tell other people about it. Like CTU said, almost everyone has a geeky niche somewhere! I have lots more friends who have more embarassing obsessions.
  5. Well, not every single one. Back in 1999, Great Adventure had a major expansion of coasters and flats called the "War On Lines". Becuase of maintenance and staffing issues, the rides were slowly removed from the park. Out of all the new rides put in, Medusa and Houdini are still the only major attractions operating. and BTW, awesome PTR there Philrad71! Cool parking lot skyline shots.
  6. My awesome desktop (as of now). The pic isn't mine, so thanks Hhappy / Hanno!! Ultra-Geeky!
  7. ^I hope not... SFGADv needs to get a few relaxing flats as well as some thrilling ones. So a Huss Frisbee or S&S screamin' Swing would definitely do good. The Flying Wave swings, Tango, and even Spin-Miester were good 'filler' rides that could be enjoyed by anyone, so hopefully the park can see these rides coming back. I've really wanted to see the park have a Huss Condor too, but that would be very unlikely. We already got Fantasy Fling and Twister to fill in the "Mission: Space / spin until you're sick" rides.
  8. Looking back, I think using the term 'fiasco' was being a bit too harsh. I meant that an Intamin Giga (like Intimidator305) isn't really a good investment for a chain that just came out of a financial crisis. Though there have been a few problems with i305 lately (trimming, wheel replacements), I don't think it was a total failure, just problematic.
  9. Like SFGADv needs another maintenance nightmare on thier hands... With this whole i305 fiasco, I can't see another giga being built ever again in the near future. And for a park that has an 'excellent' woodie, a hyper, and a strata, I would predict SF is going to go small for Gadv next year. It needs new flats more than anything at the moment.
  10. Vekoma's Butterfly inversion always interested me... I always wanted to see it get improved by B&M, like Medusa's roll over element.
  11. Not nessesarily dumb, but still pretty funny.
  12. So, I totally haven't been keeping track, but I'll post what i know! #1 - Rolling Thunder / SFGADv #64 (yay Nintendo!) - Flitzer / Morey's Piers #72 - Phoenix / Knoebels and as a bonus! #69 - Batwing / SFA
  13. If you have gone on Storm Runner, Kingda Ka should be fine. The launch on KK is probably the best part, but for a 15 second ride it's not saying too much. The whole ride is over as soon as it begins, if you don't like it, it's over in a snap. I recommend getting the front seat or the first row on any car for the smoothest ride. My advice for you is to just go along with the ride and enjoy it! But truthfully if you want my opinion, Great American Scream Machine is better than Kingda Ka. Be sure to ride it too.
  14. My first experience with an inversion was on SooperDooperLooper at Hersheypark. That one loop is still my favorite element ever!
  15. I usually don't stick to most of my NL 'doodles', but I really like this track for some reason! It's a B&M styled Invert with some Great Bear and Silver Bullet influences. I do hope to finish this one, i'd usually give up after the loop. The layout so far...
  16. Yes, I have experienced that 'weird feeling' in my legs on Batman recently. It's one of the reasons why I really don't like riding Batman anymore, even though I loved it a few years ago. It may be caused by being a bit tall, but I could be wrong. Even though I love other inverts like Alpengeist and Great Bear, Batman has a really intense design and layout for it's size.
  17. Dare I say that TPR chat is better than the forums?
  18. I've been going to my home park of Great Adventure practically all my life, and it never gets old. Even though i'm starting to go more often, it's always a different experience. Sometimes it might be the best time ever and sometimes the worst, but I always seem to have a good time there. I suppose the park just grew into me.
  19. Truly a 'Spur of the Moment' accident if I ever saw one. The band wasn't thinking, the kids weren't thinking, and SF management had to think fast. This should have been disregarded as a freak accident, too bad people are willing to take things too far. Very classy remarks from the band as well.
  20. Twister at Knoebels yesterday. A fun little ride, with alot of bumps!
  21. I think I got a few... Superman: Ride of Steel / Six Flags America- I was expecting a decent ride with some strong quality Intamin air. What I got was a rough and forceless experience. I do hope my next trip during the summer will have a better ride compared to the cold spring day I rode it in. Batman: The Ride / SF Great Adventure- Didn't like it. It hurts my legs and it's getting rough. El Toro / SF Great Adventure- I love this ride, I really do. It's still my #4 favorite coaster as of now. But really, it's not the *BEST* wooden coaster like almost everyone says. The drop is amazing and airtime is fun an all, but still. It lacks a certian "classic" quality since it feels like a steel coaster. Probably shouldn't be on the list, but I think it deserves it!
  22. Interesting, it looks alot like this ride... I'm sure parking garages could somehow profit from this contraption.
  23. That's a pretty amazing feat to achieve right there! I can only dream of riding that sheer amount of coasters! So now that you rode basically every single B&M, what would you say are your favorites? Do you have a favorite Hyper, Invert, Floorless ect. ?
  24. The commercial did put a "The" in front of Disney California Adventure, which would make slightly more sense, but not much. Inevitably, people will still call it "Disney's" California Adventure, so I suppose it's no big deal. A name like that would work better at Six Flag anyway.
