Monday was the German national day, so I figured it was a good time to try the German Pale Ale from Nøgne Ø Brewery. A light beer, very refreshing, but I prefer beers with a bit stronger flavours. Good, but a bit bland...

Beautiful clear skies and sun all week, with temperatures in the 50-60*F range. Absolutely wonderful! Night temperatures are close to freezing though. -

I'm a bit torn on what I hope for. We all know if they go for Intamin they will get a world-class ride. But at the same time I'm also very curious to see how well Vekoma would do if given the opportunity to compete in this market. I don't know the numbers for the park, but Poland is a country with a huge population (38+ million according to Wiki) and almost no amusement parks (27 operating on RCDB, mostly small parks). With this aggressive expansion I would think they are trying to make it a holiday destination for a lot of people in Poland. The park is also located close to Krakow, the second largest city in Poland. -

That actually looks pretty good for a first attempt! Bit strange seeing it all in bright daylight, but nothing they can do about that. How was the general consensus, did people mostly seem pleased? Thanks for sharing the report! -

Tusenfryd starts their first ever Halloween season this weekend. For the event they will have two adult mazes and one child maze, in addition to a scarezone. SOURCE ZOMBIE-LABORATORY "Something went wrong in the laboratory. A deadly virus that made everyone who came near to zombies and infected many of the scientists who worked there. The others locked the doors and fled. Now it has been quiet a long time. Do you dare to enter .. ? " Saturdays 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. Other days: 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Age limit 15 years (from 12 years accompanied by an adult) Location in park: Bumper cars building BLOODY SMILES "The circus traveled from TusenFryd. Saturdays 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. Other days: 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Age limit 15 years (from 12 years accompanied by an adult) Location in park: Amphitheatre CHILD MAZE "Meet witches and other creepy creatures. Last week I was at the bank and signed the final loan papers for my new apartment. Incredible how good it feels to go into huge debt lol!

Ebay??? Joking aside, I had actually not watched the announcement video until now, but I must say I love how Loke swings just over the roof of one of the buildings (which looks to be covering the walkway). That will create some great footchoppers for sure! -

So I read in the news today that a court case will be starting on Friday. In 2012 a female employee was killed by wolves when working alone inside the animal enclosure, and it's being claimed that the park is at fault. The former zoo chief is being charged, and the park risks having to pay a fine of 4 million SEK (468.000 USD) Source: http://www.svt.se/nyheter/lokalt/ost/vargexperter-kritiserar-djurparkens-hantering-av-vargarna And here is the translation. It's from Google translate so it's far from perfect (a few obvious items corrected by me). -
How much do you use Twitter?
viking86 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really only use Twitter for TPR updates. Normally when I go to the TPR frontpage I check the Twitter updates to get a quick overview of what's new, then I go to the forums. -

Oh I absolutely hope it gets sold, I'm simply trying to say that it needs to go to a park where it can be a "star" again and come out to the public as a brand new ride, in order for it to be worth the investment for the park. And like you I would not be surprised if it ends up somewhere in Asia.. -

Wildfire craps all over Kanonen! If Kolmården wants to add a new thrilling coaster they need to do something better. Not neccessarily more extreme, just of higher quality. And if they were to add a new coaster I think a large scale family coaster like Juvelen, or maybe a mine train, would be more appropriate. But I have to agree 100% with _koppen, I think a water ride would be absolutely perfect for Kolmården at this stage. I could easily see a large-scale log flume fit in very well at the park, maybe with some animal interactions along the way. -

I think we need to be grateful to have Liseberg so "close" so that we don't have to travel very far to visit a "good park". I also believe this layout is somewhat more spread out compared to Kanonen. It looks really funny though with the short 2-car trains. -

I wrote this over on nolimits-exchange yesterday, but I might as well share it here also. These are my thoughts about the removal of Kanonen: Kanonen was exciting news when it opened in 2005, as I believe it was the first launched coaster in Scandinavia. But now it's just kinda.... "there", overshadowed by the other rides not just in physical size, but also in ride quality. It's not a bad ride by any means, but it 's far from the same level as Balder, Helix and even Lisebergbanan IMO. During my visits I would usually ride Kanonen only once, so to me it does make sense to remove it for something bigger and better. The best part about Kanonen is the launch, as it's quite powerful, more than for example Speedmonster a couple of hours up the road. But as others have said, the rest of the ride is kinda forgettable. I think it would be a great addition in a park which doesn't have a major rollercoaster, and it can be the star of the park. But at Liseberg it simply falls a bit short... -

Well, I definitely did not expect a dive machine for Liseberg. It will be very interesting to see the layout and where they will place the ride. I was kinda hoping that the inverted coaster rumor would come true, but this will be a sweet addition as well! -

Edit: Was going to point out that it looks like No Limits and therefore was probably fan-made, but I missed that you had already mentioned the NL part in your post. Let's see, there's so much fan-made stuff floating around that I personally would not start getting excited over it... -
