  1. Who is the guy in the top row!
  2. I have a signed "Raptor" shirt from Walter Bolliger of Bolliger & Mabillard, which I got signed at CoasterMania 2010. It is EPIC!
  3. ^Well, the whole "CBROCWHN" thing is a joke... any news on the 11-looper or the water coaster? EDIT - I was too lazy to go the first page, but the real company name is Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing Co.,Ltd.
  4. http://www.rcdb.com/10223.htm Sorry for the bump, but it appears that Golden Horse will be providing the "Surfing Boat" water coaster to Jinling Happy World. Therefore, not all coasters will be supplied by the company that from here on will be referred to as the Chinese Bumpy Rip Off Company With A Huge Name (or 中国颠簸撕掉公司一个巨大的名称 in Simplifed Chinese courtesy of Google Translate, or abbreviated CBROCWHN.) Can anybody give us some news about this park? We need some info on the CBROCWHN SLC. Also, passing the Chinese text back through Google Translate gives me "China bumps tear up a huge name". Well, "tear" describes what will be coming from your eyes after riding the CBROCWHN SLC if you are not already knocked out...
  5. http://rcdb.com/368.htm This was the only coaster built by the company, so replacement of the cars may be hard. The coaster looks like it is not very well-maintained, but it should still be preserved. Even if it is difficult, how bad can the trains be damaged?
  6. What is the address of the plant?
  7. SharkTums - Isn't the B&M plant in Ohio the only B&M plant? Edge of Beast - With the new guy - I think he is from Disney - CF might get some better theming. Even ignoring that, Shoot the Rapids has some theming elements, and Cedar Fair left many of the elements in from the Paramount Parks instead of getting rid of the theming with the ride names. And honestly, I think that the opportunities for the Wing Rider trains give so many near misses that it is hard to not put some theming on them (like on the twist on X-Flight where the train goes sideways through a control tower in the renderings). The only Wing Rider that doesn't have a lot of theming is Wild Eagle, but in my opinion that is supposed to be a kind of wooded ride with a bit of an emphasis on inversions (admittedly, X-Flight and Swarm have the most inversions, but Wild Eagle has a more conventional layout). Plus, Wild Eagle has some support near-misses as I can tell. What does that Heide Park sign translate to?
  8. Well, let's not forget that Cedar Point is desperate for a coaster, too!
  9. I know this was already in the rumors superthread, but I thought that this deserved a topic- I know that Screamscape is not always accurate, but who knows?
  10. This angle is better. It's already done it's flip, so clearance is not an issue. But those wide cars... the car is still at a 45 degree angle. The good news is that these sections are right after each other, even in a worse - than- worst- case failure, two trains at the same time should not be at that track section.
  11. With the wings on the inline, there could easily be a collision, especially for the people on the right side of the lower track. Good thing they are in the same block section.... but what if that fails... then we get those dismembered test dummies from Swarm... only possibly with real people... On another note, what is with wingriders and dive-loop drops. As for "bowing outward" X-Flight's drop, maybe they wanted more g-forces or hangtime?
  12. I doubt that. Isn't Mindbender at Galaxyland the tallest? Also, nice bump.
  13. Did you get this from a website or did you calculate it? How did you calculate it if you did calculate it?
  14. Doesn't Mr. Freeze have a faster acceleration than S:EFK? I mean, Mr. Freeze is slower, but it has less room to accelerate... I think.
  15. I went in October of 2010. Volcano usually had a longer line than I305. Volcano is a pretty unique ride, but unlike most inverts it does not have a dropping floor, so you have to jump or climb a bit to get in the seat. The actual ride experience is fun, but it is a short ride. After the 3rd barrel roll - the 4th inversion, the ride is not even half way down the mountain, but it goes down a large drop that goes right into the brakes. That seems like a waste to me, but still, the ride is fun and has some great scenery.
  16. Well, maybe you could buy a slightly older mac that can run rosetta applications.
  17. Not that easily. I don't own a mac besides some vintage powerpc ones, but if u r willing to go through some trouble, here- http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/12/idUS388359730820110712 What is the earliest version of OSX that NL can run on, anyways?
  18. ^Resistance is not likely - the belt buckles on Maverick are rated for a lot of force, and the belts themselves are rated less, but still are quite durable. And I don't think that the Giant Drop's belts would be much different, especially because these belts could be a newer addition and therefore may be stronger than Maverick's. However, Maverick has all that airtime that comes in sudden bursts, a loose restraint would flap all over the place and a seat belt would need to be strong. But still, I doubt the belt naturally broke. Maybe the belts themselves were in for maintenance?
  19. The Great America incident where the young boy died?
  20. Scratch what i said about CCMR being my oldest steel, i think it was the Texas mine train
  21. Oldest - Thunderhawk @ Dorney Park Oldest Steel - I don't know, Cedar Creek Mine Ride probably.
